  1. The admin tells us we shouldn't disclose where we live because there are crazies at the forum. Uh-oh.

With your elaborate response, I'll be able to locate you in no time. Just have to look up where Torget is located in Norway  Should be easy.

Not really. I was more than inaccurate in both the distances and directions I provided, as well as just making some of the stuff up. So hah hah!

I did realize that I don't really come from this city, I just live here, now. The picture below shows where I actually come from (roughly in the epicentre of the red circle) whereas my house is located more or less in the epicentre of the blue circle. The distance between is about 904 km.

That's crazy! I actually live not that far away from you. If you look closely, you can see my place on your map! Small world, I guess.

  2.

That's what happens when you don't stay alert 24/7 here in Brazil.

And that's why we (me and my brothers) carry tasers around...

That's what you get for playing in that damned land called the "northeast". Lol Brazil.

Can I have a facepalm for my country?

I guess that's why we actually have special courses here for football fans travelling to Brazil for the World Cup. People are taught not to strut about with expensive cameras looking like rich tourists. Guess they could teach Richard and Kat a thing or two. Also, I love how they call this a 'misunderstanding'. What exactly was misunderstood ?

  3. He wears it obviously because he doesn't fill too comfortable displaying around his fat body… The same applies to the hats and sunglasses - he wants to hide his hair and (aging) eyes.

Looking at the (poor) guy's shape and looks nowadays who can really blame him? :shrugs:

If he looked like Duff for sure he wouldn't be 'hiding'….

Sure, Duff is in great shape, but he's aged too, look at his face. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but some on here are acting like he hasn't aged a bit. The difference is he's in shape, that much is true. I'd still have Axl over Duff any day of the week. (Oops, did I say that out loud  )

  4. I'm a big fan of Six Feet Under. It's one of my all time favourite series, just perfect. The ending was really good too, I've seen it like three times and I still sob like al little girl when I watch it. I really like the opening theme too, and the soundtrack is great. The characters are all crazy, each of them in their own way. I was really sad when the series ended. But I think it's one of those series that ended at its peak.

I don't know many people who've seen it actually, so I'm curious if a lot of posters on here have seen it.

  5. Well, this would be an unexpected turn of events. Seriously, though, you might consider some soul searching, McCoy. Either way, you'll have to work on your confidence, as you know.

In the past, I've struggled with confidence as well, after the break-up of a long time relationship. I had literally no friends left, because I had been stupid enough to dump all my friends for my boyfriend at the time, leaving me all alone when he dumped me. I had to start all over again, meeting new people and trying to rekindle old friendships. I had zero confidence, but I had to fake it. It's not like I was pretending to be someone else, but just more of myself with confidence. It's amazing how different people react to that. All of a sudden people started to notice me, and that in turn fed my confidence, so I no longer had to fake it. But it did take some courage, and a whole new environment. I figured: These people don't know me, they don't know how pathetic I really am. And the result was that I managed to crawl out of that pathetic life, I got to know new friends, meet people, and build up my confidence.

I think you might have to try something like that too. Well, that's what helped me anyway...

  6. Can anyone link me with the slash interview on howard stern in the 90's where Axl calls saying his name is "Saul" or something ?

I only know of an Axl interview where listeners could phone in and ask Axl questions. There was a call from Saul from Pasadena, if I recall correctly, and that turned out to be Slash. (31:30 mark)

Is this what you meant ?

EDIT: This is the Rockline interview.

  7. What are you saying, if it was about any race other than your own would it bother you? First of all it weren't my race that was his primary target it was black people...and then descending down the racial relevance scale. And second of all, see my responses in the Mel Gibson threads regarding his comment about jews...and I'm coming from a muslim family, another cross-section that SS was in love with.

I didn't mean other race, I meant, given that you're not white, you got offended for his opinion about races (even if he had said those things about Chinese people or Latins, not your particular lot). I meant if he insulted people for reasons not related to skin-colour. For example, imagine he made tasteless statements for someone being a nerd.

My point, I don't think you were despising the guy that much if he was equally an asshole towards other stuff or people.

I think I'm explainingmyself really poorly. My bad.

And on a side note (but related to this): forums are weird places, in the sense that not everybody who is here is here for the same reason. Some people want to make friends, some people want to cupcake and have fun doing it, others are always serious, others are totally different here than they are in the real world because anonymity le tthem be more open or vocal or whatever, Velvet Girl, etc. And, you can't expect the rest to use the forum and understand it the same way you do. You can't control the reasons why people join a forum. If you want real healthy talk, you're in the wrong place. And you, Franky, know it too. ;)

I dunno what the fuck you're chatting about if I'm being honest  Not one single word, you appear to be struggling with a question from about 8 posts ago that you still can't word properly, which appears to be 'would i be offended if the person in question was talking about something else altogether' well i really don't know, it'd depend what that thing was I suppose, whats that got to do with anything? Yes you are explaining yourself poorly.

Let me try to phrase it for him.

What he's saying is you find SS extremely offensive because by being a racist (and you being non-white) he was offensive towards you personally. He directed his hatred at a group that included you.

He's also saying that if he was equally offensive but toward a group that didn't include you (e.g. if he was homophobic instead of racist) you wouldn't find him as abhorrent as you do now. (Even though objectively there is no reason to think that homophobia is any less bad than racism.)

That's how I understood it too. Why do I have the feeling I'm in this virtual bar where some have been drinking one too many, watching how a conversation inevitably escalates ? ;)

  8. I'm quite pessimistic as to this kind of thing. It requires measures that will not go down smoothly, and every climate conference ends in a huge disappointment, as politicians don't seem to be able to act firmly. Lobbyers seem to have a firm grasp on our politicians and there are far too few idealists, that's how I see it, anyway. It's like everyone's passing on the task to the following generation(s).

As for the general public: it's easier not to believe it, or to believe the few scientists that don't believe in climate change, or our impact on the climate. No one wants to give up part of their freedom, wealth...

The world seems to be too selfish to try and protect the Earth. My fear is that we'll only get the courage to change something when it's too late, when we're with our backs against the wall. I'm no environmentalist, but I think it's clear that it's not going well and it will not end well the way we are carrying on right now.

But let's hope the climate summit in Paris proves me wrong.

  9. This is actually the reason I rediscovered GNR last summer. Damn you, Slash ;)

What a god-awful horrendous way to rediscover something. You have my sincerest apologies.

Well... never thought I'd see him doing Tomorrowland, that's for sure. It actually got worse after that. I thought: Gee, I wonder what Axl is up to these days. The first videos you bump into are Axl Rose Disaster I and II and the Kimmel thing. Then you see things about something called Team Brazil and some woman named Beta... I don't know why I didn't stop looking then, but here I am
