  1. That title change with the monsters is interesting too. That, coupled with the fact Axl just loves Halloween, the song itself is dark and sounds like a horror movie score, and the suspiciously close chosen date of shipping close to the 31st, which means many people will receive it on or close to Halloween, it just makes sense to me that they planned it that way. It might be a regular full on single release with video etc just like any of the other previous 3 and not just a B-side, we will only know until some days after the 27th in my opinion.
  2. I still believe if it's gonna be out digitally, it'll be uploaded on Halloween and not the day the vinyl starts shipping. If it's not out by Halloween, it probably won't be for quite a while. They probably make way more from selling vinyl than the pathetic money you make from streaming,
  3. This AI thing is bullshit lol, I asked it to give me the lyrics to The General, it says it's available on the official GNR website and Spotify, here they are, obvioulsy completely a made up fictional song based entirely on the title The General (Verse 1) In a land of war and strife A general led his troops Through the heat of battle He never gave up hope (Chorus) The general, the general He was a man of might He fought for what he believed in And he never backed down (Verse 2) The enemy was strong But the general was brave He led his troops to victory And they all lived to fight another day (Chorus) The general, the general He was a man of might He fought for what he believed in And he never backed down (Bridge) The general is a symbol Of strength and resilience He inspires us to never give up Even in the face of adversity (Chorus) The general, the general He was a man of might He fought for what he believed in And he never backed down (Outro) The general is gone now But his legacy lives on He is a reminder that we can all overcome If we never give up hope
  4. Lol it's not getting manually taken down, the song gets uploaded into their database, and then Youtube, Soundcloud etc. use an automatic detection software for the audio which instantly recognizes it and blocks it. The only way to circumvent the automatic detection of the audio and instant blocking is to either upload it slowed down or change the pitch. It won't be out digitally if they don't want to other than illegal downloads.
  5. I wouldn't have high hopes, it's only "shipping day", not really a release day. If it's not up by Halloween it will probably not be released digitally for a while and be instantly blocked on Youtube when someone tries to upload, until they decide to release it.
  6. Even if it's only like 5, the chances that if you ask 5 people about something from the past, and they all respond saying the same thing, but they are all wrong about it, are slim and pretty absurd. Especially for me as I'm one of them and I can't believe my brain would make up something so specific as the peoples reaction to the revelation when the village leaks happened that Perhaps was a song title the entire time we had that list and no one realized it.
  7. How can you be 99% sure when not just 1 or 2 people, but multiple posters here who have been around for way longer than both you and me confirmed it, or atleast say that they remember seeing it? What are the chances they're ALL wrong?
  8. I'd say like 5+ old regular posters here confirming that they saw this before the leaks is evidence enough, what are the chances all those people are making it up? To me personally, who also remembers seeing it before, it makes no sense that it wasn't posted before the village leaks 2019 because I remember people being surprised Perhaps turned out to be an actual song the entire time. People thought it just meant the songs below it were a B-list. If that list only just made the rounds 2019 on, no one would have been surprised Perhaps is a song.
  9. There have now been clearly many people here that have been around for a long time that have confirmed they saw that list way before the village leaks. I'm just bewildered how it's possible you have been on this forum since 2012, and me since 2016, yet I remember seeing that list before 2019 and you don't? It's cleary even way older than that unless not only my brain but many other peoples brains here are making up fake memories lol.
  10. That video would be interesting if it really exists, just to see if he named Perhaps as a song or if he skipped it, because he also thought it just meant "perhaps these songs below also considered". Pretty sure people didn't realize Perhaps was an actual song until 2019, so I guess he didn't mention it in that video.
  11. I feel that the writer of a song is the only one who can really comment on when it is "complete", having put more "thought" into State Of grace and less into Absurd or Eye On You doesn't mean SOG is somehow more "complete", it's just a song with more thought put into it. Absurd is a complete song with repeating lyrics and that's how Axl intended it to be and that's why it's just as complete as SOG. And he probably felt the same way with Eye On You, just doesn't warrant another verse. And unless Eye On You was seriously reworked, both music and lyrics (musical parts were taken from it, and it sounds nothing like GNR, and vocals because there's no way these lyrics will be unleashed upon the world from a 60+ year old Axl) I don't see how it was not abandoned. It didn't make the list of considered tracks for the CD2 either just like SOG. From all the songs, I believe Eye On You has the absolute least chance of ever coming out lol.
  12. Yes I too remember that people thought Perhaps wasn't the name of a SONG, but that it meant that the 3-4 songs listed below it were perhaps considered for the next album. Only when we finally got Perhaps in 2019, people realized it was a songtitle the entire time. So that list with Perhaps on it definitely existed pre-2019-leak as far as I remember.
  13. How is it less completed, since when do songs need to have a certain amount of different words to be considered completed, Absurd is repeating the same verse also and that's a full song. That IS the song. So just because one song has parts that are repeating doesn't mean it's any less "complete". No it was not mentioned, but unlike Perhaps, SOG wasn't even on the list, just like Eye On You wasn't.
  14. That doesn't mean anything because, even in the event that it really is 4 minutes long, it only means that the orchestra would be in the background of the song for 4 minutes. GNR have songs that are 10 minutes long. I have already posted 1-2 pages back that this whole 7" time constraint thing is bullshit, November Rain came out in 1992 on a 7" at freaking length of 8:53, so if that was already possible 31 years ago it's even more possible now, unless we have gone backwards in technology.
  15. ...the music for the live intro was very clearly a version specifically made to BE a long concert intro and not the actual version, that's why it's fucking 4 minutes long. Again we're going in circles because you're saying the parts of SOG don't fit anywhere in the very small part of a few seconds of the actual version of The General we've heard. I'm not saying it's definite, just that it's not as impossible as people make it seem that the two were combined or evolved from one another.
  16. I don't know, why would he abandon Eye On You, isn't that also a completed song with complete lyrics? So either you believe Eye On You is still coming out (lol) or it has, what I believe, been abandoned and parts of it used on other songs so not all the work gone into it was done for nothing. SOG itself, I can name a couple of reasons, it seems like a rough sketch of a song really, there's no solo, some people believe he's just mumbling nonsense at parts and the lyrics aren't even there, and it seems strange it hasn't been mentioned anywhere else since 2000, not by Axl, not by the band, or that list that had Perhaps on it way before we knew that was a real title, SOG wasn't on that either. So I believe it's been abandoned, and seeing how much work has gone into it, I don't think it's far fetched at all that parts of it will then wind up on another song.
  17. You're basically saying it's impossible for a song to go to a different section that sounds nothing like the one before. Have you heard GNRs catalogue?I can give you atleast 10 examples where songs have gone into parts that you would have never seen coming if you only heard a minute of the song. It has happened before that songs have been abandoned and parts of it were taken and used on other songs, EOY and HS. SOG sounds just like what Sebastian Bach described about The General, so if SOG was indeed abandoned it would make sense to use work done on that song on something else to not waste it, Axl even having written and recorded vocals and all.
  18. You're assuming the entire song sounds like the 30 seconds you've heard? If the song is indeed long, then it very likely will have many different sections to it as usual with longer GNR songs
