  1. I don't get how you come to that conclusion. Why would it be that way? I simply believe they think it's hilarious to release it with the original General Tsos Chicken working title. I doubt theres someone actually called The General in the lyrics when we know the source of what the title actually references, a joke working title.
  2. I think it's the other way around, Locomotive seems to be the exception and Coma the mainstay
  3. Could be kinda cool, to be honest anything that reworks the instrumental will be an improvement to me haha. It would definitely be interesting to get a full acoustic song released by the band as a single, be it this or something else
  4. I don't know why it matters if it was on CD or not. Artists have plenty of reasons not to include songs on an album other than for quality, sometimes it doesn't fit the vibe of the album or is too much of the same type of song. Axl had GOOD stuff like State Of Grace, Soul Monster and Oklahoma leftover which is better than garbage like Scraped and Riad which were on the album, so there you go. He wasn't going by "what is best" when choosing what was on CD, who knows why Scraped was on the album, but it wasn't because of quality lmao.
  5. They should leave their differences aside and combine forces and collaborate on the ultimate HEY HEY - YEAHHHHHHH song
  6. Oh my god you must be right it was only a matter of time until Fake Lists Guy came out of the woodwork after GNR became somewhat active again LMAO. I didn't know they had internet access in mental facilities but here we are back again, after he has been banned, looking at his made up lists. It will never stop lol
  7. The fact that Slash is back in the band alone rules out any possibility that there's any extended Buckethead on a new Guns N Roses song mate. This is full on tinfoil hat territory. Yeah it can happen, Buckethead can show up as a guest spot at the next show, that can happen too, so let's go and claim things that..can happen, I guess? We can go around claiming there will be DJ Ashba riffs on the next song, I mean it can happen right? And at that point the forum has reached full padded cell mode instead of useful discussion. It's more useful to go with theories of something that is atleast somewhat realistic. Slash will make sure to be all over any song this band will ever release again, after being gone for some 20 years.
  8. I'll say..I kind of subscribe to your "Atlas Shrugged can't be saved" mentality here lol, I don't expect them to make it "good" at all, I don't exactly look forward to them releasing it, but it's better than not getting it. Atleast have them TRY to make it a good song..which to me would mean rework it big time, and that's not out of the realm of reality, atleast for me, for the reasons I mentioned earlier. However not even the worst filler track on an SMKC album was as plodding and boring as this one, so I have faith in Slash coming up with some redeeming parts for it, he simply doesn't release turds like this upon the world, with his name attached to it. Maybe in a bathroom, but not as a new Guns N Roses single.
  9. I don't buy that to be honest. Either they reworked more and are holding onto it for later (maybe for an album) or they really only reworked like 6. Can't imagine Axl criticizing Slashs and Duffs work to the point he's unsure they would be coming out, he would just explain to them what he didn't like and have them change it if anything. I don't think Axl even told Slash back in the day if his solos sucked, and that he had to record a new one, everyone simply did their thing and that was it (other than the SFTD debacle where the band was already on bad terms, anyway)
  10. Yeah there is no way there are new GNR songs coming out without Slash on them. It is the entire draw of the band since 2016. It being a B-side means fuck all to me, Coma would have never worked as an A side, and that didn't stop it from being one of GNRs best songs in the entire catalogue either. It's there for reasons the same as Coma would have been relegated to B-side, too weird structurally, too dark, maybe too long.
  11. Slash claims they reworked like 4-6 songs right? Seems a bit low for a second half, I'd expect the second half of chinese would have been CDII as in a whole album, I wonder what Axls plan is for the rest of the songs they haven't reworked then, maybe those are the ones he wants to use as "his" contribution to an actual new album later on? Is that a plan that makes sense maybe?
  12. I doubt we will ever know, it is the way it is "for reasons only known to Axl Rose" (always loved that Jimmy Kimmel quote lol). Maybe he really did have a trilogy in mind, I mean he did say to Sebastian it would be coming out on the 3rd album. We are talking about a guy here who put Scraped on his album, none of it makes sense to us.
  13. It's not because of the actual quality of the song but simply because it's mysterious and has actual decades of speculation behind it, a piece of music, that people have pretty much never heard. I don't think it will be any kind of mindblowing eargasm but more of a "finally knowing what it is" sort of deal, just to get that first listen in, is the holy grail. I fell for the same trap with Atlas Shrugged which had that same thing going on, what was it called by some insider, a glam version of November Rain or some shit? And it ended up being a worse sounding Catcher In The Rye. Yeah I'm simply expecting The General to be a kind of cool heavy song, probably better than the first 3 we've got.
  14. I think that new HS intro is actually definitely a Duff thing, it sounds distinctly like something he would come up with, like Its So Easy, Sucker Train Blues, for example. The entire original intro was in my opinion kept until 2020 when removed by the Slash/Duff rework, and the entire guitar solo section was replaced with a new one too. And to be fair, I don't think Slash and Duff were ever presented the version of HS with the Josh Freese drums. I don't think they ever heard it..because there is absolutely no way they would have taken the one they ended up with. It's the only explanation that makes any sense to me. - But yeah we can speculate for months as to why one song would be reworked and some not at all, I don't think it really works what we are doing right now: to assume things by what was done earlier (the 3 songs we got), because every single song is different. Some need more work done, some don't, every song is different so how does it make sense to go by what was done to other songs? I mean if they worked on say 6 songs, maybe they seriously reworked 2 and kept 4 the same because they thought it sounded fine, and they just so happen to release 3 songs first that weren't reworked, we would assume none of them had a real rework when infact there would be 2, if that makes sense. I'm just going by that I think Atlas is just bad, REALLY bad, and that's why a rework is likely, I would expect it more than I would be ruling it out. Maybe they've done more than you think, kept Brian Mays solo, extend the song by adding another solo section for Slash, there are many ways to make it better that wouldn't be too difficult.
  15. I think people are making a way too big deal out of this, how did 1 bend for 2 seconds of a song result in a thread 4 pages long. Listening to it on headphones now it's barely even something you notice as "wrong" - we are just all fucking ZONING IN on that after all the listening to the leak where it was mixed in higher, and know that it was originally a whole solo, was originally Robin etc. I heard no one on any comments anywhere other than on this forum even mention this, it just goes to show that our opinion as people who are registered on a forum like this is not like all the others who listen to this, sometimes we need to take a step back and realize this before complaining for 4 pages about a 2 second bend. I don't think there was any real thought other than someone thought it sounded cool, and they left it in, that's it. There's no way "mistakes" make it into songs as laboured to death as the ones from the CD era.
  16. Is the dude who's responsible for the Nightrain horn still employed after that Asshole comment by Axl? I assume he must be sweating bullets at every show during that moment now lol
  17. Why exactly? They completely changed Hard Skool and stripped it off multiple parts and replaced them with other ones, didn't they? Don't see why one would expect them not to do that on other songs. And considering how fucking bad it IMO is there's no way Slash and Duff want to be putting out a turd like that. They made Silkworms listenable to me. But they destroyed Hard School lol, so it can go either way.
  18. In what way? Because from what we know both lyrically and musically it will sound nothing like that song, it's a heavy metal tune about child abuse (allegedly)
  19. I have the complete opposite view, they better tinker the fuck out of it because there are not many usable parts. Sounds like background music for a detergent commercial
  20. You consider the piece of shit we heard the best version? For real here? A rework of it can ONLY make it better lol, it really can not be made any worse it's already bottom of the barrel out of the vocals village leaks. Not sure they can save a song this bad but it's better to hear them try than not get anything at all.
  21. Atlas Shrugged + Slither (Live) B-side lol. I wouldn't put it past them to do this
  22. What would stop them from doing another Hard Skool EP thing, where you have Perhaps The General and Atlas + live cuts? It doesn't have to be another song
