  1. To me with headphones it sounds clear as day as "forget" in the live version, because it ends with a T. Also as @Axl_morris pointed out in the other thread, are you really gonna forgive a child molester? Forgive doesn't make sense, it is pretty much the most despicable thing you can do on this planet
  2. Overall he still does it like you'd expect in 2023, but man check out some parts like this one line from 3:35-3:40, absolutely PRIME Axl. You'd think his 1992 self teleported back and possessed him just to deliver that line
  3. Do you guys think them playing it is directly the result of the leaks? Would they have played it if the songs didn't leak? The official release is still 5 weeks out, seems strange to debut it so early
  4. He developed the empathy skills of a 5 year old and he's probably over 40, that's quite an achievement
  5. You went out of your way to reply and wasted time of your life complaining about him doing that, is that any better lmao you should take your own advice
  6. I didn't believe I would like it at all even after like 5 listensStrange how that goes, many people will probably never get into it ever. I believe it also had to do with Monsters being kind of an instantly accessible type of song that overshadowed it and clicks immediately with that britpop chorus. Might've gotten into it quicker if only The General had leaked.
  7. I'm not gonna lie the first listen of The General was "what the fuck is this". But a song growing on you absolutely is a real thing, I "get" the song now. I put it into the same category as something like Shacklers, it was never meant as something with a broad appeal, it's a you love it or you'll hate it, no inbetween thing sort of song. And Axl is over 60 years old. Consider these things when you listen to it. I think it sounds better live than on the leak, rasp in parts where in the studio it was sung clean, and the orchestra pops out more.
  8. I'm not saying it's not a valid way to release your music nowadays, just that it isn't the "go to" way anymore that you need to do. These days it is now just put out all the singles before the album has even released, to get the pre-order up, so you can say it charted at #1 when it releases, and then the album is pretty much dead in the water only a month after that. At that point you might aswell just keep putting out singles indefinitely instead of an album.
  9. Glad to see you finally managed to bury the hatchet with Slash, Paul.
  10. I don't agree that an album or even EP is necessary in 2023, it's no longer an album oriented music world and it hasn't been for years now, all you need is a new single every now and then to keep your fans interested. Albums are so much work and they are quickly forgotten and fall off the charts very fast a few weeks after they're out, it's not like it used to be, where albums would only get bigger after they're released. But I agree the one-two punch of The General followed by Monsters is awesome to listen to, they should keep that. Especially for the fans who confused Monsters to be The General all these years.
  11. Slash is so into The General it's amazing to see, and Axl sounds great on it, especially the last chorus, damn
  12. When I woke up and saw this thread had 18 pages, I knew something had transpired
  13. The fact that people are confusing Slash with Buckethead is hilarious to me as someone who is a guitar player. It will only be about a month from now until these people who still believe it's not Slash will find out what a fucking idiot they are. I literally can't put it any more bluntly than that. I can't wait
  14. It was a guy called " IWasThereForYou". Which is underappreciated, how hilarious is that name for a leaker? He really was there for all of us, in a time of complete dispair. If you're reading this, kudos for you that name is comedy gold. This thread was a complete shitshow on the 27th October until you showed up and saved us lol
  15. I never knew the cellphone clip only surfaced so recently, I thought it was from around the time it was recorded, and also assumed evaders version was thus also that old, like 2013 lol. When did it come out?
  16. Not sure how you put Shadow Life instead of The Unholy which is even on the same album That one is not far off from The General in terms of disturbingness music and lyric wise. It blows my mind that that one came out almost 10 years ago, yet The General predates it by nearly 12 years. And it's only coming out 9 years after. Lmao GNR timeline
  17. It just confirms he had written lyrics for Cuban Skies, not that he had recorded them. I've no doubt he spent days or nights writing lyrics for it, but actually going into the studio and recording vocals is a different thing. I'd love for this unheard stuff to come out, but we have no real proof of it.
  18. If you think Slash isn't on these songs, as I said, you don't know what you're talking about. End of. As someone who has picked up guitar because of Slash and studied his playing all his life, you are simply not educated enough to say this isn't him, and that makes all further discussion unnecessary. I can tell by the exact time second of Monsters when Slash stops playing and Fortus takes over, it isn't up for debate. There is no way they recorded a demo of The General, a song from 2003, that also somehow ended up leaking. Completely delusional
  19. So this means you think Slash and Duff recorded "demos" that leaked? Somehow demos recorded in the last 4 years, got into our hands? Of 20 year old songs? Anyone who doesn't think Slash is on those recordings doesn't know what he's fucking talking about. For real, people who play guitar and know Slashs style inside out KNOW he's on these recordings. And this in turn means, that if you think what we have are "demos", what the hell would be the point in recording demos in songs that have been around for 20 years? Slash and Duff added their parts, and that's what's coming out. The fact what we have sounds like demos and crappy is because it was ripped from a vinyl, that was already so shit it was rejected because of bad quality. Ripping audio from a vinyl is already not great, but one that was so bad it was rejected by the artist, of course it's gonna sound shit.
  20. So you believe Slash and Duff recorded a DEMO of a song from 2003? And that this version, as impossible as it seems, somehow leaked and got into our hands? Clearly they reworked it and someone took home a vinyl of that and riped it. The delay was only announced on THE DAY it was supposed to ship, so they must have had thousands of copies printed and ready already, you don't have like 10 vinyls ready on the day you're supposed to release. Not a stretch to assume atleast 1000 have been made by the time they announced this isn't shipping on the 27th.
  21. I'm not talking about people who ordered it, but people who were involved in the production of the vinyl
  22. I don't believe how these versions could not be finished, they clearly have Slash on them, and he and Duff surely didn't record demos of 20 year old songs that somehow now leaked. This is from someone who had access to the vinyl that was rejected now due to bad sound quality, there must be dozens of people involved in the vinyl production process that had access to this.
  23. Plus, didn't someone say Cuban Skies was about Cigars? How would that song have been about cigars if it didn't have vocals?
  24. WTF, you are correct the exact same vocal appears on 0:38-0:39 but I don't hear "oh daddy don't", the person just says it in under half a second, it really doesn't sound like Axl, it sounds like a soundbite taken from somewhere else like a movie or something.
