When do you guys think they will reduce the ticket prices. Most of these shows are selling very poorly. I’m thinking with Aerosmith’s announcement the other day about a US fall farewell tour, many gunners might end up spending money on aerosmith because I’m sure they will be expensive tix
They could actually take a leaf out of Aerosmith’s book and have a big opening act like Aerosmith have with The Black Crowe’s on this tour. They need an opening act capable of selling 10-15,000 on their own. I think pre covid they had a tour lined up with The Smashing Punpkins opening. They need a band on that level to flog more tickets.
I don’t think dropping the price will help. Yeah the tickets are expensive, but from the 20-25 people I’ve spoken to who are GnR heads about various gigs on the tour, money was never mentioned as a reason for them not going.

and while i'm not commenting about that personally , ill just say this . i think music ,and art in general is very much in big trouble. i think its the new disgraced era.

i can't believe one of u guys haven't said "it" yet,
AI will never be able to recreate a live band in a smelly club with some drunk people having a dance. Art on a local level won’t be replaced. It’s a community thing. There’s also a fun to playing music that can’t be attained by listening to music. The energy of playing is addictive and there will always be kids somewhere wanting to make a racket.- 2

I never got Chinese democracy on vinyl. I agree it is up there are far as rarities. I also agree that none of the options are truest rare. Relatively speaking though LLAS is much more limited than the other albums.
I think the US pressing is more common and from memory inferior to the European pressing. I think there was sound issues with Side 4 of the US pressing (I could be wrong here) -

So far, all I own is GNR Lies. As a kid, back in their heyday, I owned the tape. Then when I got into my teens, I got the CD. Like most heterosexual boys, I would gaze at that model inside and think, man... if only that black bar wasn't there. Then, flash forward to about a year ago, I find out that in Europe, the original uncensored version came out on LP
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Page_3It was a cop from that rag paper The Sun. No need for a GnR album. We had boobies every day!

Is the banned Appetite cover even that rare? I’ve seen a few copies go for $100-150. Which again isn’t that much cash for a “rare” record. I remember buying Since I don’t Have You back in the day on 7” orange vinyl thinking I’d scored a rarity. It’s about $10 to buy right now…

That's all I really want
30 years of wanting. Surely there’s enough material to release a 3hour doc for each year of the tour.
A 50-50 mix of The Stones “Cocksucker Blues” & Metallicas “a year and a half” would be a perfect blueprint for an Illusions tour doc.

Guns N’ Roses seem to be as popular as ever. They are a considered a “cool” band by my 12 year old son and seem to be leading the new emergence of rocks.
I collected GNR vinyl because they are my favorite band but I’m starting to thing live like a suicide is very cheap considering that it was limited to 25k copies AFD is my favorite album but LLAS seems like a great buy right now Anyone else into vinyl?
I thought LLAS was 10,000 copies?
Outside the Live Era vinyl are any of the GnR releases rare? Even the infamous banned cover version of Appetite can be picked up for $200. (which when it comes to rare records isn’t much….)They were so good and so popular so quick there’s no stuff that got a 1000 copy release on an indie label like a lot of bands first singles.

Nice to see Duffs nod to The Heartbreakers.

Reads to me like he’s referring to Absurd or HS…
Q: Any chance you could record there some tunes for GnR that could actually be released
A: I have.

I’d say Treat it as a vacation or road trip with GNR gigs in between. See some of the city you’re in, Usually theres a tribute band to whatever band is playing the next day in each city, get to the cafes and food joint’s, go to the bar and soak up some atmos before the gig. See the sights along with seeing GnR.
I’ve done a few shows on all the Stones tours from 96 until 2019 and there’s a sideshow that travels from town to town with them. People dropping in for 2-3-4-5 shows and people doing 15. It’s good fun being amongst rabid fans of a band you love for a few days. You get to have the conversations and debates and never ending debates over food and coffee and beers and whatever else. Treat it as a vacation for a few days based around a band you like. Meet some people see where the gatherings are.

i don't think it's ever a waste for people to engage with lyrics in ways that excite them, and look at a song with a new perspective, even if it's just one of many perspectives

Saw Slash a few times solo, few times with VR, which also had Duff & Sorum, Saw Gilby Clarke with The MC5 twice.
(It has only occurred to me now with this thread that VR & Gilby both played at Download 2005)

I saw Iggy Pop at a festival in 1997. He looked and sounded just the same
As he always did you mean?
Iggys voice has held up well, and he’s in great shape for a guy who really should be dead.- 1

I’ve never seen a bad Iggy/Stooges gig. Really hope I can catch him once more. It looked to be a great setlist.

whatever Duff is working on looks like he is playing drums
Whatever this is I’m guessing it’s Seattle related. Charles Peterson is the photographer. -

350 pound. Oooof.
Pretty decent I thought?
It’s 4-5 days depending how you do it and there’s always a lot of great acts across all the stages so you could see 5-6 good bands each day easily. Away from the music there’s tons of stuff going on. When you compare the scale of Glastonbury and it’s ticket prices to the PowerTrip Festival, Glasto is great value.

He isn't wrong. Whilst other albums back then had a parent advisory sticker on the front , I distinctly remember the UYI II CD's sticker in HMV
It said exactly -
This album contains language which some listeners may find objectionable. They can F?!* OFF and buy something from the New Age section.
I think it had both the Parental Advisory by law and the Sticker reading “This album…” was added by the band as joke response to it by basically putting Fuck OFF on the cover next to the mandatory warning of “Explicit Content” … that being the offensive language contained on the album.- 1

I was on holiday with my parents and desperately wanted to buy UYI 2 on cassette from Woolworths but was concerned they might stop me spending my holiday money on it if they saw that sticker.
My solution was to buy sweets in the same shop the day before and sneak off to the music section to remove every sticker on all the cassettes so the next day I could get away with buying my copy of UYI 2 without any worries!
Had the same experience but it was worry that the shopkeeper wouldn’t sell it to me because I was 12 and it had that sticker on the cassette cover!!
Different Times….- 2
