Official GNR Social Media Update / Discussion
Blackstar replied to alfierose's topic in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
I think the discussion about this tweet should continue in the related thread (now it's being discussed in three different threads simultaneously): -
I think the discussion about the tweet addressing negative reviews for Glastonbury should continue in the respective thread:
-
Although most reviews were positive or at least balanced, sites like Blabbermouth, Yahoo etc. shared only the Independent one (probably because it was good for clickbait), so it became viral. Of the 75 replies there is maybe just one that agrees with the review (granted, many of those who replied are probably GN'R diehards):
-
The Telegraph and The Independent. Disturbed singer tagged Axl when he defended him on twitter about the Telegraph review. But Axl most likely reads the reviews anyway.
-
Yeah, Axl slips and falls about one time per tour. It's no big deal most of the time.
-
No, there's been a bit more variety from show to show. Live and Let Die, Hard Skool, Reckless Life, Brownstone, Walk All Over You have also been among the first 6 songs, Jungle was the 9th song at one show, etc.

The pre-chorus, iirc.
-
Absurd was soundchecked with Axl before the first show of the tour (there were no recordings, but there were pictures - ofc we didn't know then what song the Medusa graphics were for). Presumably Hard Skool was soundchecked then as well, but Axl had soundchecked it before anyway.
-
When they were soundchecking Hard Skool without Axl, they sampled the "aye-aye's" from the studio track, however Axl sings them live. So it doesn't necessarily mean that they'll use a backing track for part of the Perhaps chorus live (although they've been doing it on Locomotive).
-
Not true. He soundchecked Absurd and Hard Skool, as well as the new covers that were added to the set (e.g. Slither and Black Hole Sun were soundchecked with Axl before they were played).
