I follow the creative works company that do all the live graphics for GnR shows. Anyway they posted about their visuals for the GnR show at graspop, so I commented saying 'Hope you have something good for the General, it warrants it' - they replied with the shocked emoji face and then somewhat tongue in cheek said 'who is this 'the general' you speak of?' So it's clear they have done graphics specifically for that song live. Now we just need the band to actually play it!

Slash's playing is definitely faster and lost some melody, but live it isn't really noticeable and he brings a great energy to the show. My main issue with him (aside from the CD solos) is in the extended solos in RQ and KOHD. They're not interesting enough to justify the extra minutes spent on them, and even though the whole drawn out KOHD is dull, RQ could still be a killer live song if they got rid of the 7 minute solo in the middle.

he said that all the songs we've heard are the only songs GnR will release. there's nothing else with fully recorded vocals ready to go. Since then we've had silkworms (absurd) original vocals. Hardskool (original vocals + eye on you bit reused) Seen Perhaps and the General on the setlist, and heard persistent rumours that the other track is Atlas shrugged. That is literally everything he said. Ok you can be semantic about him saying nearly all vocals come from 99, but aside from fortus or stinson saying axl recorded vocals every year, there is no actual evidence of that. They also said there'd be a new album coming soon multiple times, so they can't be trusted. You have to concede. it's been 4 years. In the 4 years since pele started it, nothing has happened to say he was wrong, and everyone that has happened has suggested he was right. Ok unless we break into the studio, it can never be conclusive, but based on probability, like a court case or a science experiment, Pele is RIGHT and should be celebrated for his foresight and genius. I know that is painful to hear

Not the worst solo from slash, really think richard should take over from the killswitch bit as clearly slash won't play that. but not bad all in all -

Axl there or just band? -
Slash isn't a hired gun...? Slash is certainly paramount to the reason GnR have been playing stadiums and the general population have been interested in GnR again. But in terms of new music he hasn't really had any impact. The fact Axl has decided against releasing CD2 with slash and duff, instead preferring some reworked singles (which we've only got because of the leaks realistically) and still hasn't started writing new music with slash says all we need to know.

Setlist is here https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/guns-n-roses/2023/park-hayarkon-tel-aviv-israel-7ba6a6b4.html

I'm not sure why people think tuning the songs down will work. they already play in half step. you're talking D or C# and then not only that singing it baritone. You won't even recognise the song. I think what people mean is Axl should sing an Octave lower without the band changing tunings. To keep him out of that mid range which he has completely lost.

Yes, but they don't tell the press 'we're so wild we don't even play to a setlist'
-
Really mixing up that 'setlist' that they never play to. It's amazing that even without a set setlist, this band manages to play the same songs in the same order. unless of course fortus was chatting shit...
