  1. It can be frustrating. Those first two albums are unbelievable. every song is one of the best songs ever written in british rock. it was inevitably more hit and miss after that, but every single thing either one of them says is still massive in the press and somehow theyve managed to get a big 16-24 modern audience. its not just their generation that are fans. Yeah was a solid effort. Still preferred their debut, but is mad they didnt achieve much success, considering how big high flying birds and liams solo have been
  2. Arctic monkeys have been so lacklustre. I havent seen any of their tour, so this could be the laryngitis, but terrible pacing and slowing all songs and no energy at all. Twitter are destroying them too. The british public are turning on them. This could be good for gnr, coz the bar is low. however, it also shows how easily they could get trashed online in masses
  3. They will be on a delay. Headline acts always have been. This is the Kings BBC. Not shitty Fox news sunshine. Things have to meet a certain standard in old blighty.
  4. I'm glad the band realise how big this is for them. Or at least seem too. Getting there two days early, watching foos from the side, getting guest artists which is very much the done thing and even doing extra random vids like this. I think Paul McCartney/Dave Grohl. There was lots of complaints when GnR were announed that they werent black enough or female enough to fit the bill, so maybe theyve heard tha and they will bring out a female artist or black artist as a fuck you. That'd hit really well
  5. Glastonbury is 10x bigger than coachella. Coachella is a festival full of cunts showing off on insta and tik tok. Glasto may not be its original vision which was akin to original woodstock, but it is still all about the music and the people. It's one of the only festivals in the world where you cannot resale. You have to sign up to glasto then sign up with your id then bring your id to match the ticket etc. So no one can profiteer from it. It is (Almost) profit free too, with lots of money going to charity hence why they refust to pay headliners mores than 250-500k. (for context coachella had to pay GnR $14m across the 2 shows.) Bands like gnr foo fighters paul macartney adele taylor swift are not taking a 900% paycut to play a festival that isnt the biggest in the world. Of course some backward americans may think otherwise, but the proof is in the pudding. The boost artists get, the 10mil tv audience plus the 200k+ in attendance. This is the absolute worst and wildest taken ever made on mygnr. This guy is making pele look cool and calm with this kinda ignorance.
  6. Beady eyes first album was great, the roller, kill for a dream etc. really odd that it didnt really capture the public. i think Oasis were so in everyones faces and people were pissed with the break up, people had enough. They'd oversaturated. 13 years later people are thirsty again!
  7. Noels last album was just beaten to number 1 by Foo fighters, but he's still a big deal, maybe sub headlines festivals. Liam headlined reading and leeds and sells out stadiums an outdoor venues and every album has been number 1. Oasis are still the holy grail in british culture. Their reunion would probably selling 10 million tickets here alone.
  8. 'You know you've got problems when the bassists sings better than the singer' haha. Oh boy. This Could be so so bad for Axl. I really hope he delivers. This is like the annual live aid for the UK. If he smiles, brings out some guests and sounds good on the classics, the british press will forgive him and be positive. If they are 1 minute late or he steps out of line for one second, they will tear him to shreds. Glad people seem to be accepting that he can no longer sing, but he's trying. My issue for that though is stop charging elvis presley prices for mickey vocals for non festival gigs
  9. Yeah 2 hour 30 i think is the right length a gnr show should be. I get really pissed off when bands like the chilli peppers play 90 minutes and leave. I think that is really shitty. But when you start getting to the 3 hour mark it becomes a real slog. GnR play a lot of longer epic songs so i think there sets should be long, but not 3 hours.
  10. I was at this gig. They crucified him because he came on just over an hour late, and made absolutely zero effort to engage with the audience at all. he won them back during This I love, but then came all the superfluous band solos even though it was obviously going to be a shortened set, and then they cut at midnight so the set was less than 90 minutes, 20 minutes of which had been dizzy solos bumblefoot solos etc. The actual vocal and musical performance from the band was brilliant.
  11. Yeah I saw him at Isle of Wight fest on TV. Was impressed actually. Angels is obviously an all time great song, but he's a good showman for sure.
  12. Download is very much a left wing festival, as is glastonbury and pretty much every music festival in the UK. Music festivals are the epicentre of summer culture. They tend to be attended by younger people, people more likely to believe in freedoms and rights, take drugs etc. I was at download 2017 when it was announced jeremy corbyn had taken the tory majority from government and it was the biggest roar and singalong of the entire weekend. Left wing people tend to be higher educated and more well travelled so it again naturally lends itself to music. Point proven with English being his first language and the incorrect use of 'Your'
  13. Welcome to the Jungle It's so Easy Down on the Farm That is the only opening song trio they should play at glasto. get them on side straight away with jungle, and then dedicate down on the farm to the festival, then theyve already won.
  14. Please dont play Better at Glastonbury
  15. done some more research - Guns N Roses headline set will be shown in FULL from 10pm - 2am on BBC2 Saturday night. (note this is slightly behind actual live, GnR could play longer than the allotted time - foo fighters and paul mccartney both went over curfew and were NOT cut off). There will also be WORLDWIDE Youtube coverage available of selected highlights on the BBC Music Youtube channel. Apparently the set will be available in Ultra HD if your TV allows. The full set will then be on BBC Iplayer to watch anytime from monday 26th. If you want to watch it abroad the only way to do it is to download a UK streaming friendly VPN, go to bbc iplayer website at 10pm uk time and steam the show live on the TV tab on BBC2.
  16. You will definitely need a VPN. When I have tried to watch Iplayer abroad it hasn't let me. It might be best to look on satellite tv abroad for a BBC channel. A lot of countries have a BBC channel in their tv packages and that miiiiigght be showing glastonbury highlights.
  17. I've learnt that if you are in showbiz, you are probably gay. Don't think anyone is bothered, couldnt care less if he was or wasn't, but it's certainly more interesting than the non album we know isn't coming out. Sex sells, straight gay or bi, it's human nature to be interested in peoples sex lives. lots of careers are built on it, doesnt mean it has to be a negative thing though
  18. Wouldn't be the first guy. Especially with his god fearing and traumatic upbringing.
  19. First Article I have seen relating to GnR at glastonbury thise week. Nothing we didnt know but regurgitating some things from the past https://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/artists/guns-n-roses-axl-rose-glastonbury-controversy/ If you get a paywall https://12ft.io/?fbclid=IwAR2ncmDlhWjXqDkTCea9Iwo8TKVPQH85_iaXO0ErYVYc6rFNxFHQfT_nzzQ also, confirmation that the set will be broadcast 'live' (usually a 15 minute delay) CAN'T HAVE YOU CRAZY YOKEL AMERICANS OFFENDING THE BBC GODDAMIT https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/guns-n-roses-setlist-glastonbury-2023-b2361388.html
  20. Would it be that shocking if Axl was gay? 61 years old no kids no wife. Over the top aggressive lyrics towards homosexuals in 80s macho america (one in a million), deep love of elton john. All these breadcrumbs soon add up to a slice of toast
  21. So what we have learnt is that tinkering with an already finished product is a bad idea. Here comes The General....
