  1. Ray Manzarek is rock n roll. Little Richard is rock n roll.
  2. tbh i doubt duff even knows. He gave an interview to a german magazine, it came out in german (whilst he is travelling between France/Italy etc) and was transcribed into english here, then removed by TB. Would they even speak to Duff? Probably not. Unless he reads this forum or is fluent in german and likes to read his interviews several times after they're released he probably doesn't even know. TB operate under a cloak of backstabbing darkness
  3. Not to defend silvio here - but not sure thats ever been proved. From all ive seen and read, he liked them younger as in 21, not 12?
  4. Berlusconi was rich, had lots of power and loved women. Axl probably loved him as axl loves power, money and women. Doubt he knew much about his politics.
  5. Slash should play that with Myles, he does a decent version of FTP. Axl can absolutely not sing that song now or in the future. 2006 and 2010 axl, absolutely, but now no way.
  6. It was ready for release in 2010, hence Axl played it. And it is in the setlists and possibly has also been soundchecked. Slash also said the new songs were more epic than the previous releases.
  7. I think we can be fairly certain the songs they recorded were Absurd Hardskool The General Perhaps Atlas Shrugged Maaayyybeee there's one more we don't know about, but the 4-6 will almost certainly be those 5. no more or 1 more. at least as of 2021. could they have done some more stuff in 2023 before this tour started and kept it secret? Maybe, but unlikely. Those 5 will be released, but when that is? This band and its management and way of releasing music has been a joke since 1993. So it'll be random, late, make no sense, and create little more than a whimper among the music world. But at least we will have these 5 songs we so desire. And seeing as we are the hardcore fanbase, that's all that should matter.
  8. Nothing is coming friday. It's already friday in NZ. This Band don't do things like this. Same shit every thursday in this thread!
  9. going to see them at tottenham hotspur stadium in london. looking at their recent shows they're doing that annoying thing of alternating 2 different 90 minute sets. rather than just doing a kick ass 2 hour show. so you won't get give it away and under the bridge on the same show, it's one or the other etc. it's pisspoor really but my Mrs loves them so im taking her.
  10. I dunno, a lot of the beatles later stuff was written individually by paul or john then taken to the band. I don't think there's one great way to write great songs. it's all too subjective. Some people don't like bohemian rhapsody. some people think a guy adding drums and big drops to classic songs and turning up the bass is genius. What we have to ask is were hard skool and silkworms great songs before slash and duff were added to them? HS is a solid rocker, slash didnt make it worse but probably didn't elevate it either. the mix let down the official release compared to the leak. Isn't that all chilli peppers lyrics though!? Purple stain has to be one of the dumbest!
  11. They were the only 2 good songs across both albums though. But tbh that's fine. we'll always have the 3/4 classic albums and 2 good songs on each album is great for me. would kill for that with GnR. None of these bands are going to release all time classic albums, but if they release an album every 3/4 years you'll like a couple each time which is great.
  12. From what we can gather, the drums and vocals were left in tact from original, fortus mentioned he had re recorded didnt he? plus slash and duff. The vocals would only be much worse. The drums sound worse in hardskool from the 1999 demo, so maybe they should just leave everything in tact. just add a slash solo in the solo sections. the only vibe difference really is Axls deteriorating vocal live, so i'm all in favour of using the best vocal take possible. The technological manipulation they do to vocals on pro tools, it doesnt make any difference what year it's recorded.
  13. I see this argument all the time - about pasting over 20 year old tracks like it makes any difference to the sound. Most songs are created this way in the modern world. a drummer will lay down drums, days or weeks later the bassist will put their part down, then a guitarist, then leads and fills then vocals and mixing mastering etc. It's rare songs are recorded on tape 'live' and with GnR as we know it is all done on Pro Tools. So it genuinely does not matter if the slash was playing over a song written 100 years ago or seconds ago. The entire chi dem album was recorded this way. You can argue as slash and duff weren't there for the writing process of the song, they don't have the 'feel' or connection to it. But they are professional musicians. They guest on songs and albums all the time and work this way. If GnR release a banger that is 20 years old with pasted on guitar tracks will you say it is so good because they are pasted on? Probably not, so it can't be bad being recorded this way either. It's just either a good song or a bad song. A good mix or a bad mix. Don't get caught up in the length between writing and recording parts.
  14. When you say not done, what do you mean? It was literally one of the only songs that was fully mixed, mastered, all instruments and sections complete. it was almost on chinese democracy. I think if you are expecting any part of that song to change other than slash re recording the solo, you'll be disappointed I'm afraid
  15. ffs even worse Post reunion. in 2010 and 2012 they covered most things off the CD album
  16. Doesn't sound legal, tell him to sue the band
  17. I hope they do arena tours. The cash grab from all 'big' artists now definitely takes away a lot from the experience, especially when it comes to extortionate fake fan rich cunt golden circle access. Ruins the show when the first 5 thousand people are rich people there for the 'I was there' conversation rather than the real fans who would create atmosphere. Foo fighters, GnR, Blur, Pearl Jam, springsteen, motley crue and def leppard (who couldn't even sell half of it) Rammstein, red hot chilli peppers all playing stadium shows means they all have to be in a 2 month window in the UK where the weather is good and the football isnt in the stadiums. Average gig goer cant go to 10 stadium shows in 8 weeks at £100-250 per ticket. if they do arenas you can at least spread it through the year and try to go to more.
  18. Where did you hear they were fired. Sounds highly unlikely they could legally sack someone for fans super imposing and seeing a rumoured song title on a piece of A4 paper. screams unfair dismissal and massive payout lawsuit. What would GnRs case be? fans on a forum saw words which might indicate a band might release new music, so they had to be sacked and potentially lose all their livelihood?
  19. Why do we the UK never get a chi dem deep cut. all 5 london shows, download glasto and glasgow. We never got a twat or maddy or prostitute. chi dem, better and in the early shows this i love.
  20. Doesnt make any sense that they'd bring it out now, and not at the start of the tour or immediately after glastonbury or immediately before US leg. those are the 3 obvious places to get new songs out. They never do anything that makes any sense so who knows maybe they will but I'd be willing to be bet a lot of money The General won't be played this tour leg, and neither will perhaps. Out ta get me and bad apples much more likely
