No surprise you wouldn't but I wouldn't say you're a great example of the everyday GNR fan. But the regular GNR fan or listener that puts the records on, come away saying that it would have been one great album. there's a reason we've discussed it adnauseam on here (We don't need to argue it)... and a good majority agree that pooling the best songs and cutting the filler would have been better! I mean that's not controversial or some 'out there' idea 🤣
You’re correct in that’s it’s been discussed so many times on this forum usually with valid points, but how would you make it one album at 73 minutes in length when four of the best songs were 10 minutes in length? Plus, add in Don’t Cry and You Could Be Mine, which makes one album at 50 minutes in length. Leaving 23 minutes of what?

You got all that from watching him prancing around with Elton for a couple of minutes?
It’s a potent performance. I’ve shared it with many people are not fans of Axl and they were blown away.

It's interesting how everyone was chomping at the bit to get new Guns stuff and we're dying to hear anything new, or for them to tour, and here we are with 15 song after 29 years
15 songs in 29 years. Ouch. With that perspective it really is disastrous.

It’s all whatever. I’ll say this for a fact, Trump has better hair than Axl. And that’s death over victory.

Slash doesn’t sound confident touring will resume next year. He called it wishful thinking.

Suprised to hear that about U2. Before Joshua Tree they were doing pretty well selling Albums/Merch and doing World Tours.
Larry Mullen stated it in an interview. I think he means real cash. Like the millions. GNR are an anomaly in music history. I don’t think there has even been a band that blew up with their debut album and became global. For example it took both Metallica and U2 to become global after their fifth albums.

Yeah I think it was to keep fans happy and engaged while they worked on UYI music. So basically to keep the momentum up.
And I also love One in a Million. Such an underrated song with great guitar rhythm and brutally honest lyrics. That’s true art!
One in a million would have been a classic if the lyrics were changed.

...$1,000,000.00 In 1989 to play 4 Supporting shows with The Rolling Stones!
As someone who loves Guns N' Roses Triva/History I never knew that.

They Must have been Raking the $$ from all corners during 1989.
I believe, I might be wrong, that for all the Success during 1988, they didn't make any Money until 1989. I believe it was Duff who said that in a 1988 Magazine Interview.
It’s takes awhile for bands to make money. U2 didn’t start making real cash until after the Joshua tree album.

I'll give you that, at least someone is putting something out right now. But as far as an album goes, if it didn't have the AC/DC name on it, it wouldn't get a second listen by most.
That’s a valid point. But, isn’t that most AC/DC records.

Only in the land of GN’R does the band have nothing to do with the art used that promotes a tour...
I've been hearing those kind of excuses since 2007 when they announced the Australian “Chinese Democracy” tour, that Jarmo assured me, had nothing to do with Axl or the band, but the tour promoter...
It’s obvious the promoter is using the image. I don’t understand why any forum member believes the image should not be used since it features members no longer in the band.

But to use the cross, have them involved, but not telling anyone would be pretty lame too. Actually it's even more lame.
I’m almost certain the promoters are using the cross. And the cross represents the album and the music more than individual members.

Yep - everyone wants a new album, but with Axl's voice sounding like it does, plus the fact that I still think there are big creative differences within the band make me kind of nervous to what it may sound like.
I’m with you, there are huge creative differences within the band. That’s the number one reason for no new music in my opinion. Also, the creative differences could be seen as something that could cause tension within the band if a album was forced, and fuck up the unity the band now has achieved.

Lets say GNRs new album consists of 14 songs and they each get played like 5 million times on spotify. (AC/CD Shot in the dark pr. now has 13.7 million plays)
This will generate about 280 000 dollars for this one streaming application alone. You also generate income from streams from Tidal, Youtube etc and digital downloads on Itunes.
I think that in Axls head this is pure artistic integrity and he does not want a product out with the name GNR on it that is not holding up quality wise against AFD/UIY/CD.
We all hoped this would change with Duff and Slash in, but it seems like nothings changed.
I think it’s artistic integrity, too. Which is why Im becoming more skeptical about a new album. He doesn’t seem to believe in the material.

I honestly don't know if this will be a popular or unpopular opinion but I know it will be divisive so I will say it here - I think Oh My God is the best nuGNR era song and beats pretty much every track on the actual CD album
Axl's voice is nice and angry sounding, there is an aggression to the song that rocks so much harder than the rockers on CD, and the lyrics are ace
Oh My God is a great song. One of Axl finest lyrical moments. It could have been one of his best songs if he had held it back for CD and reworked the vocals.

I like their music now, but come on.....what teenager wants the approval, or to have anything in common with, their parents?!
Isn't half the charm of music always the rebellion and the 'voice of a generation' thing? Sad if that's been lost, as it's always been the case - The Beatles owe a lot of their success to parents saying "what's this long-haired trash" while teenagers lapped it up.
Time has moved on though. They'e being replaced by something new, in the same way that the likes of Mozart, Beethoven etc got replaced by new sounds, new ideas, new things. Can't hold back the tide.
I agree. But, I’m grateful I lived in the era of rock music, when the great bands lived. I’ve seen them all, so I’m content. There will never be another band like GNR, people just aren’t made like that anymore.

Agree, but if 19 year olds are listening to classic rock, then it tells me there are no new rock bands that people are excited about. Once GNR metallica and maiden retire, what rock bands are popular enough to take the mantle?.
And please dont tell me Greta Van Fleet.
Lol, Greta Van Fleet. Once these bands are gone it’s over for rock in great bands.

Do you really want a blu ray of NITL?

He just said that he had some private talks with Slash around that time, didn't say anything more.
The part about the crew betting on the reunion was interesting too.
That’s total bullshit. Niven makes stuff up. I would almost guarantee that Axl knew he was going to make the reunion work and the only way to make it work would be for Axl to make it less about himself, which he succeeded in accomplishing.

I may be completely wrong but I've always assumed the people that would seriously consider buying this would be way under what you would need to be profitable to do even a limited printing. I could be completely off, but i feel like people inside our bubble would loelve it but who knows about outsiders. I wonder how the tour book sold?
I agree with you. It’s a niche market and unlike other bands like Pearl Jam or Phish, for example, who have years and years of collecting concert posters, GNR just have this one tour.

Totally - I think there is only a couple of duffers in the album (Now That We Are Dead and Here Comes Revenge).
To get an album that good at this stage of their career was quite something.
Yes, it’s a rare accomplishment. I love the album.

Pretty much where I’m at. Kudos to them for putting themselves out there regardless of being ‘past their prime’ or whatever I think of their recent stuff. It’s absolutely clear they are doing it for the right reasons - they love to rock. And you will ALWAYS get a diamond on these latter-day releases....as a MetallicA fan Hardwired was absolutely fantastic with loads to like. I’m convinced GNR would be the same - unlikely to be back to front brilliance (hope it is) but you will get some diamonds for sure.
On a side note - there is an AC/DC special on Planet Rock on just now....playing new stuff mixed with old stuff......the new stuff fits well but just misses with a lack of killer riff or vocal hook. I don’t know if Malcolm had a big say on choruses?
The other big Takeaway is Brian Johnson sounds like the coolest MF about....could listen to him all day. 😂
Hardwired is a banger of an album. Metallica are as good as ever.

Nobody is demanding vaccination though. They are literally "only asking for proof," either in the form of vaccination status or negative test results. I agree with you that if they were demanding vaccinations, they'd be out of line and people should be angry about it... but you're making a mountain out of a molehill here.
Stills seems like a lot to ask for an industry that could be in danger if it places restrictions of any kind on attending a show.
