I wonder how well the footage has 'aged.' Like if it came out back in the day like Metallica's road doc (2.5 yrs...) then fans would have the sentimentality of watching it back in the day, or when they first became fans. But if we just get a home video of young people getting drunk and telling knock knock jokes surrounded by poodle haired workers, would it really be that cool?

After Izzy is off the tour how much actual coolness is there? You got a struggling dude somewhere unseen with his new age spiritual advisor (Axl). You got an annoying money grubbing womanizer (Matt). Socially awkward people who are mostly in altered states (Slash, Duff, Dizzy). And their uncle (Gilby).

Footage of lavish parties with no band members in attendance?

More footage of Axl skipping down a hotel hallway?

I'll tell you what Id want. Is Saskatoon 93 and an Izzy Show, with the very best bits of the John doc sprinkled in.

And just dump the rest as bonus footage. Maybe commentary, something to bring it to where the fans are at today?

Nobody is going to sift thru 2.5 years of backstage tour footage to cherry pick great content. And I don’t think Slash and Duff want that footage released.

A fucking remastered show on the UYI box won't make up for anything. They recorded the whole tour!!! They even have stuff from the 80s that they won't release.

The only way to make it right is to start releasing EVERYTHING on YouTube like Metallica does, or even with a subscription on their website. They could give you some free merch when you buy a certain ammount of shows, that would help stop piracy too...

But in my case, one (or two, or three, I don't care) shows included in the UYI box won't be enough. That stuff is going to be 30 years old next year. They need to go big.

To be fair Metallica releases new shows not shows from 1992, but I 100% agree with you, one show or three is a pathetic amount compared to what is available form a 2.5 year tour. I doubt the band will do anything cool for a UYI box set. The band is never going to do anything to blow your socks off.

Haha. Believe it or not, she was the one who told me to pull the trigger. I wouldnt of ever went there, but she was the one who told me to do it when I scoffed at $2,000 a few years ago. I should have listened to her then lol. She knows I dont buy anything for myself and this was the one thing I wanted more than anything else. You have to buy it when its it's available. Like our very own "god of lithos" @amaninjapansaid, "you never know when the last kobe will be for sale". And those words resonated.

That’s awesome man. Sounds like a cool woman. And, when the “Lord of Lithos” speaks you just adhere to his wisdom. And he’s correct, with print run of 150, and most knowing what they own, how many will we see on the open market in the future. By the way, I scoffed at 2k during that time.

    Thanks!

As of now i have it in the hallway leading to the basement. Only place I could convince the wife to display them.

And yes on the question about the border. I have standard 18x24 frames for all my other lithos that work fine but this one seemed to bubble up when I tried to put the back of the frame on. So I took it somewhere to get framed and this was the end result.

I put a gold border around the frame and it really makes it stand out when its on the wall with the others in the set.

The gold inlay is perfect. Does you wife know what you paid for it? Did you have to make wild compromise to justify the purchase?

  5. This is hard because some of the CD songs would never be written by the old band. But I’ve given it thought before, and for me it would be a mixture of CD songs/leaks, a selection of the VR albums and Come in,Come on, then about two songs from Slash’s solo album. And that would be it for me. Gilby was never going to write with GNR. And Izzy writes basic songs.

I always have an issue with this, how do i post a picture on here. I have it hosted through one of those websites but when i try to insert the link, the screen wont go through. Does that mean its a sizing issue? Its not giving me any info.

    Did you get Kobe?

And this site is difficult for posting pics.

Slash still talks to him on a regular basis.

According to Niven. Niven lost all credibility with me when he went on this same show in 2016 and claimed he had inside information that Izzy was writing with GNR again, which turned out to be utter bullshit. And, his statement about Axl being on a spiritual quest and he couldn’t believe Axl would sing in a devil band like AC/DC. Jeez. I don’t discredit his contributions to GNR. There would probably have not been a UYI tour for awhile had he not just booked it, so there’s always that and some other stuff. But he is not in any loop at all.

    Wonder how GNAIR is doing?

That truly was one of the strangest moments of recent years- pilot badges and shirts for a fake airline! Imagine trying to explain that to someone who asked why you were wearing a big pair of aviators with 'GNAIR' on the side!

Bonkers. Merchandises based around a pinball game is sane in comparison to that.

I think management was just thrilled to be flying private. Recall that video of Axl punching a guy at the airport. Axl was walking thru normal people. Now, it’s back to booking a huge private jet.

All I want to see is the full length actual November Rain pro shot  they performed exclusively for the for the making of the video.

    It exists.

I think there were multiple takes. It shows Axl singing dead horse in the making of videos .

I hate hate, the axl appearance stuff. But fuck. how much better does he look with his hair longer than the disaster he has at the moment. I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon. Axl please grow your hair, you look fucking ace!

Axl Rose (L) and Angus Young of AC/DC perform during the Rock Or Bust Tour in Michigan

And lose the gut. With his money he could easily get a nice head of hair instead of what he has going on now.

Doug said Axl just did some touches but didnt overdub complete songs...I stopped the video after that.

Do this people think we are stupid??! COME ON, there are obvious re recorded vocals on entire songs like RQ, PTU, Nightrain, My Michelle, half of YCBM, half of Estranged...

    Im pissed

Hahaha. Doug doesn’t know much about recording.
