For Guns (Axl really) to suddenly become a fan friendly band (a la Pearl Jam/Metallcia) would be to change the habit of a lifetime. No point in moaning about it now considering we lived through the chaotic 2001 - 2008 era, with its  lengthy sabbaticals and frequent album delays, hissy fits, riots, and lawsuits.

Imagine Axl would have broke with Beta or Beta would have convinced Axl to work with Doug Goldstein again back then...

In all honesty, I've given up on ever hearing new GN'R tracks. I just don't think it's ever gonna happen, so I stopped getting mad about it. Too much other great music coming out by other great artists to worry about getting new material from a band that just doesn't seem to want to produce any.

The biggest problem about GnR is: they don't even release old material. Only 1 official live DVD is ridiculous for a band like GnR.

And yes, there won't be new tracks obviously. Axl/DC is the only chance for that.

If they would only do a real reunion with even Matt and Gilby. I would be fine with that. But this scenario right now sucks.

But I'm not enthusiastic about GnR anymore since the Chinese Democracy release or even before. They had their reunion chance back then...GnR is done after this tour. Mark my words.

If Axl is such a musical genius then it is the craziest thing in the world that he has released so little music in his 55 years on this planet. It's absurd.

Axl was a genius between 86-91. And he had the perfect musicians around him. Since 91 he is just milking the concert cow. Using the GNR brand was a curse for any new music ambitions. You simply can't top AFD and UYI with different musicians. If he would have released Snakepit and VR stuff with the old members I would have been totally fine though.

But all we got was Shacklers Prostitute Silkworms.

  4. Let me tell you something, brother...GnR don't care about you. And Gn'R will never do unless you are supermodel or current pop starlet. Then they will fuck you and even give you a personal tour jacket.

GnR has the worst fan service of all rock bands.

You wanna hear this and that with Axl? Axl's answer: The Seeker.

First message here! Sorry if my english is weak.

I think, if band somehow would play any VR song, it should be "Sucker Train Blues" instead of Slither. STB is very GNR-style song, and it would be great to hear Axl singing it. I like Weiland, but I think Axl would nailed it. But not gonna happen..

Shut up. You get Seeker, BHS and a horrible version of KOHD instead.

To all the hater-haters: The problem with GnR is that the set the bar unreachable high between 86-93. They were the best live rock band with Queen back then.

Gilby and Matt did a great job on tour. People were fine with them. Their sound was perfect.

It's hard to accept that Axl's voice isn't as good as in the past. But it's simply not acceptable that you have a drummer who simply don't understand the GNR vibe. And Fortus is also a guy who don't get the specific vibe. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against 4tus and Frank, but they don't reach the perfect GnR sound from their golden era.

If Izzy and Steven or Matt and Gilby could reach that now? I don't know. But it's simply a fact that GnR sounded different on this tour with Steven on drums. They sounded more real, authentic.

I will not support this NuGnR X.0 version.

They're definitely getting more comfortable with the song. I'm still not a fan of their version or the choice of song for them, but damn I respect them for paying tribute to Chris Cornell  at every show.

But it makes no sense...sure, soundgarden was a gnr opener and Chris was cool with Slash and Duff. But Chris also said that he actually never meet Axl and had no relationship with him at all.

  7. ZSure, it is a GNR show, but half of the audience also know VR and Slash stuff. And since Slash is playing Axl's solo stuff, it would be fair by Axl to play some Slash/VR stuff. Almost every Slash song was actually written for Axl. I'm pretty sure people would like to hear Axl on Slash stuff. Seeker and BHS are very weak covers.

  8. Fact is: Axl is not as good as he was and he never will be as epic as he was. Duff and Slash are solid. The problem with them: the songs are being played too fast / NuGnR like.

And here's the main problem. I think most of the critics here and outside the forum would be ok with Axl's Mickey voice if we could get the rest of real GnR. Izzy/Steven/Gilby/Matt. Cause it's the real deal. What we have now is still NuGnR with Duff and Slash.
