Is the idea behind that, that everything is just going to on demand, or are we going back to DVDs lol.
Streaming services lol

I dunno, a Blu Ray with Axl and Slash? I gotta figure it would sell well, especially since Appetite For Democracy sold well (for a concert blu ray anyways.)
Blu Ray is on its way out. Best Buy is going to stop carrying blu ray in store and online next year and target is going to stop carrying them at select stores.
Unfortunately the time for a blu ray is probably passing. It would be cool to see them put one out tho

How we all feeling about the chances of “The General” dropping on streaming this coming Friday?
Also, personally, I’m thinking they’re planning a much larger holiday release (perhaps an EP?) which is why there has been no “Perhaps” CD or cassette announcement to date.
Eh I kinda just feel like the hard skool CD and cassette didn't sell that well so they just did the vinyl this time lol

Honestly I think what happens is over the next year they release what's left of the unreleased/reworked CD songs. Wouldn't be surprised if there were 3/4 more after The General and Monsters release. I think they will collect all of them and release them on an album. And I think they will to and write some new music. Wether it's an EP or a full album or just a few songs to put out on a greatest hits collection. They will release that in 2027 (the 40 year anniversary of AFD) and do another tour for it and then announce a lengthy farewell tour. This is about a 10 year plan so the farewell tour will probably be in 2031-33.
In 2037 if all the key members of the band are still alive and healthy the AFD5 lineup will reunite for a special 50th anniversary show at the Hollywood Bowl and call it a day.

That's quite a list...
Is this festival a yearly thing? Surely they have fucked there reputation with this if it is. I would imagine GNR will play just due to the legality of having a contract to, but we shall see. This is the last show that we know of right?
This festival has had a lot of issues in the past iirc. Pretty sure GnR was supposed to headline it pre reunion but it got cancelled

And now we have The General played live, one song that for me it'd be hard to sing. And as a gift we have Monsters, what a surprise. 2023 is a great year for a Guns N' Roses fan.
Imagine being told 10 years ago that Axl, Slash and Duff would all be playing together and then someone shows you the setlists from this tour and tells you that they are going to release the fucking General and they played it live lol.
We have it good. This band is awesome

As we get older our body changes...
Axl's vocals of today are of a person who's changed, gotten older..
That's not going to change...
For some reason, people seem to think Axl is super human and he is going to return to a past self..
You cannot compare others to Axl, as we are all different in many different ways.
Vocal cords cannot be changed, replaced or de-tuned as a guitar string, a guitar or a snare drum.
It is what it is.... and I think some of you need to develop an understanding of that concept..
I think people think of the band as robots or something and not human. Realize these guys probably only have 10 maybe 15 years left and we are lucky to have had the last 7 years from them.
The fact that they go out on these tours and play 3 hours shows and give it their all is amazing. I saw Avenged Sevenfold a few months ago and they played 90 mins. What Axl does is phenomenal, even if he doesn't sound exactly the same as he did 31 years ago.

Is this a rescheduled date or something? Kind of odd that they would end the tour with a random festival in Mexico.
Festivals pay big money

happy to have been at the show and witnessed history! Even though it was a short ass show, I can’t complain AT all.
Gotta imagine it was taxing on Axl to play back to back shows for the first time in a very long time. Dude definitely was out there busting his ass. Melissa too being sick and all.
Props to the band. They are firing on all cylinders

Yeah, but on the other hand it was more than what we expected and were promised.
For sure. I mean I'm not going to complain about getting The General but it's hard to imagine not listening to these two songs together hahaha

Another possibility is that they originally intended to release them together (probably with Monsters as a hidden track) and that's why they were registered together, but then they found out that the quality on the 7'' was very low, so they sent it again for pressing without Monsters.
This would be devastating

Word on the street... I mean come on.
The word on the street probably stems from the one or two shows recently that Frank seemed checked out. I doubt there's much legitimacy ti this speculation. Melissa? I don't know, there's more chance of her leaving. No 1 she's young and she has solo aspirations and doesn't just want to be forever known as an additional musician for gnr, no matter how much of an honour it is to be given such a huge gig. No 2 she's clearly been having a very tough on this past run with the death of her friend right around the start of the shows. I would be surprised if Frank left or was replaced but Melissa is more likely to want out of these long tours. She might be completely happy with the tours and love the foundation it affords her, who knows! as far as he sickness, wishing her well and hoping she gets to at least play one of these last nights.
I hope Melissa stays. I could definitely see her leaving though. Which would be a shame for the band but understandable. If it just doesn't fit with her career goals anymore.
I can't imagine Frank leaving unless he just is tired of touring and ready to settle down.
Axl, Slash, Duff, Richard and Dizzy are not going anywhere.

I know most will disagree and some will want to kill me for this but, IMO, TWAT is the greatest GnR composition ever. SCOM and Estranged do come really close second, though.
I don't know if I would say TWAT is the greatest (it's so hard to pick from your favorites lol) but I would say it's in the top 5 for me for sure. Honestly SCOM, Estranged and TWAT might also be my top 3 lol
Just every note is played perfectly in TWAT, the vocals are some of Axl's best ever, I love the beat and the rhythm. The only thing that might hold it back from being #1 is the chorus for me. Amazing song though

I have more thoughts than this to mention but I'll start with I think Robin, Richard, Brain Tommy and Axl really would have been a cool fucking band on their own. There were a lot of additional people who came and went but these guys were the guys IMO.
No offense to Ron and tons of offense to DJ but the Chinese era was never as fun with them in the band to me.
Bucket was obviously cool and super talented but I never expected it to work out with him and I don't think the general public was ever going to be really receptive of him. I don't think Guns ever needed a third guitarist and I think Robin and Richard together could have just been really cool. Really love Robin.
Tommy was the perfect person to fill in for Duff and IMO the only persona who could ever fill in for him again and Brain is just the fucking man.
