I remember many (and I mean, MANY) people were trying to "make" a "studio" version during all those years. so I find it really hard to believe such thing. mainly because the supposed "leak" had no real publicity during all those years...

I'm pretty sure that intro is legit. Came from someone of who was lurking at the Eat my Silkworms website back in the day.

I don't think that one is legit, it's rather fanmade. but of course feel free to prove me wrong :)

It's legit! Firstly, because it's too perfect to be a fanmade. Then you can watch the House of Blues 2001 show Silkworm's intro.

If you take out the audio from the video and boost the volume a bit, while taking out most of the crowd noise, and compare it with that intro Clip on Youtube. You'll see that the intro is equal to the live version. Only on the live version is cut in half. Probably the studio version intro is like Chinese Democracy (The Track) intro. It's a bit longer. ;)

he only forgot the 15sec snippet of silkworms that leaked in September 2017 (A part of BBF'S guitar solo)

I make these words my own.

There's still the '01 n' '03 versions out there. Maybe a 06.... My bet is that his new vocals are on one of these.

The 2006 version of Silkworms was what leaked.

There's another version with a long intro dated from 2001, without Bumblefoot. Part of the intro already leaked and you can find it on youtube very easily.

3.- way to project yourself on everybody else.

You don’t get to define the nature of GNR, although you do get to enjoy their music or bitch about what doesn’t fit in what you consider defines GNR.

The song is pretty generic and flat, it starts in point A, it stays there and it ends there.

You're right, I don't. I'm not projecting anything of myself. I'm giving you my opinion.

I think Chinese Democracy had too many slow songs, and it grows a bit tiring to hear it because of that (Doesn't mean I don't like the album). I think it's fair to say that Appetite for Destruction is the album that defines the band. Appetite had 1 slow song. That's what I meant by true nature. I think everyone expected a more aggressive album. I think people expected Oh My God and Silkworms to come out on Chinese Democracy for example.

Also, I think people would be happy with a more aggressive album, doesn't mean you have to think the same, but if we did a poll, I bet you I'm right!

  5. I liked Silkworms (Needs those voice effects out and let Axl be Axl (Raw Power/Down on the Farm), needs the 2001 chorus, the Accapela needs to be a little more extended, and they need to go back to the 2001 intro of the song).

Oh My God has the best lyrics ever released of NEW GNR, but Musically I feel we still didn't get a proper mix of it, and a proper solo on the song as well.

  6. No Thanks!

1 - We don't need an instrumental on an album. Instrumentals are fillers in albums and make a lot more sense on a live show.

2 - All his work on GNR, including that remix of Better sounds so much like SIXX AM, that he makes me think that if he had continue with GNR, the material would probably be along those lines.

3 - Didn't you grew tired of all the ballads/slow songs on Chinese Democracy ?!? Axl needs to release an album full of rockers now. The whole GNR community is starving for more aggressive songs, which is the real nature of GNR. Don't mind a ballad or two, but it's difficult when you only have like 5 rockers out of 14 songs in an album.

No offense taken. I come & go with Foo Fighters personally but their quality of music wasn't what I was referring to, not even their popularity for that matter.

I was referring to exactly what you were saying in the second half. Whether or not Grohl did it just because Slash is back or whatever is irrelevant to me honestly. It's more on Axl in my eyes. The fact that Dave (and other members of the Foo Fighters) have slung shit Axl/GN'R's way and Axl is still cool enough to forgive it and have something like this happen speaks volumes to me.

Oh I see. I misunderstood you there.

Axl is cool as shit for sharing the stage with them, after all the bullshit. You're right it does speak volumes of Axl.

From early 2016 and continuing now, I personally have thought Axl is going on a bit of a "Clean Up Tour" of sorts. I think he may have realized that he's done enough "his way" and would like to be remembered for being more than a notorious asshole.

-Showing up on time or early
-Playing songs he knows fans would love to hear
-Playing with Slash, Duff and even Adler again
-Killing it with another band and surprising their fan base winning most of them over in the process
    -Playing Slither
    -Appearing with Foo Fighters

............these all seem like great ways for him to lose his reputation in the general public as a gigantic asshole.

We, the hardcore fans, have complaints of course but we're always going to, right? IMO, all the guy needs to do is put out some new GN'R music now and even the most hardened GN'R fan will have to admit he's done everything he can to clear up his reputation.

I agree with everything, but Guns N'Roses are way bigger than the Foo Fighters, so I wouldn't really list appearing with the Foo Fighters as kind of an accomplishment (no offense there).

They're popular but their music sucks...it's just basic riff rock n roll like Nirvana was.

Besides I still haven't forgot Dave Grohl's rants about Guns N'Roses and Axl at Rock in Rio IV, saying Guns N'Roses music sucks etc...Now Axl is with Slash and all of a sudden everything's ok and their music rocks again...

it reminds me of the chidem demo from 2002 (1st leak, back in '06)

And yes, it's missing some vocals and the synth intro, wich is present in the 2006 version.

This is the Original intro for Sikworms. It's on the first version of Silkworms. The 2006 version of Silkworms is the version that leaked.

Supposedly the earlier version of Silkworms was out there too in 2006, but it's not from 2006. It's from 2001.

  10. Well Perla was really hot when she was young, I can see where Slash lost his mind over her....Hell she's still a MILF!

But that kind of money is a lot of money! I would be having nightmares every night. She really hit the jackpot and nailed him!

There's worst though... Look at Linda Hogan! She left the Hulkster bleeding on his knees with nothing! (I don't even realize how she managed to get so much out of him. Look at Scott Weiland's ex wife... She really nailed him too!

  11. To me it goes a little something like this:

The Blues 2001 > Street Of Dreams Album Version

There Was a Time 2001 > There was a Time Album Version

Chinese Democracy 2002 > Chinese Democracy Album Version

Better 2002 > Better Final Version

Catcher in the Rye Album Version > Catcher in the Rye (Brian May)

IRS Album Version > IRS 2002 and 2006 leak

If The World Album Version > If the World 2002  (But Overall a very weak song due to Mickey's vocals)

Prostitute Album Version > Prostitute 2002

Madagascar 2001 > Madagascar Album Version

Oh My God 1999 > Oh My God Bumblefoot (But we're yet to hear a proper mix of the 1999 version though)

Silkworms 2001 > Silkworms Bumblefoot (We have only heard the intro to this version, however it's safe to say it's better because it has the Chorus, and won't be much different than the one we have.)

For those saying that this intro to Silkworms 2001 is not real, I recommend for your to check Silkworms HOB 2001. Don't believe me? Check it out (It's more audible on imsorry's mix of the HOB version, but unfortunately someone deleted it, so I'll have to use the HOB recording that was already out there as an example), but if you still have doubts, please check the intro on the HOB Pro shot video:
