I’m not really sure on the tracklisting. This I Love would probably be on there, Madagascar wouldn’t.
Just trying to think how to make it a fun single album. But the whole show will probably come out. Maybe more like a Live Era 2 type thing.
Why put out all the same songs as GH and Live era when they could put together something that captures that NITL in 14 tracks. Maybe add Out ta Get me and Michelle with Steven.
The Seeker, Wichita and Coma are the singles.
NITL Live 2016-18
It’s So Easy
Chinese Democracy
The Seeker
Estranged
Double Talking Jive
This I Love
Coma
Wichita Lineman
Slither
New Rose
Out Ta Get Me
My Michelle
Better
Madagascar
I agree mate. I'm definitely with you on this.
I don't feel like i need another release of all the songs we've already got!

Not sure but after 2 1/2 years he never grew on me. I don't like the way he plays songs like Don't Cry and Used To Love Her.. I don't think his leads on KOHD and Rocket Queen fit the songs at all. I still don't think he meshes well with Slash. I think you need to make up for Axl's voice with a a great band and Frank and Fortus just don't do that. Thank God for Slash.
It's not a recent thing for me either.
Back in NuGuns he used to slaughter the first solo for Nov Rain. Made an absolute mess of it.
He also couldn't handle the rhythm guitar on Patience - sounded terrible!
I think he can mimic other's playing OK but when he adds his own style it sounds shit.

Same here!
Not a fan of his playing at all.

I could see it being a tightened up NITL live album. All the newish stuff makes a nice little album. Like a Live Best Of II.
It’s so Easy
Mr Brownstone
Chinese Democracy
Better
Estranged
Double Talking Jive
Coma
Shadow of your Love
Whole Lotta Rosie
Catcher in the Rye
Nightrain
Used to Love Her
Wichita Lineman
Madagascar
What's the likelihood of This I Love being left off?
Nice idea though!
You'd need a 3rd Disc just for RQ and KOHD!

Richard did some cool stuff since he joined GNR tho, the two albuns he did with the Daisies are specially great.
Not sure if he would be able to do that havent he joined GNR.
Yeah that's fair enough.
I guess i was mostly thinking of GNR when i wrote that.
He's been in GNR for 15+?? years and has written a bit of rhythm guitar behind a lead solo in one song.
It doesn't seem like much to show for years of work in a band.
Then again you don't need to be releasing music to be getting a lot of enjoyment out of writing it. So who knows what else he is up to.
Basically - I just want them to release new music!!

They hide the others like they are a dirty secret. If they were going to forge ahead with everyone for writing and new material, great. Since they are not, and just going the nostalgia route, it was even more dumb not to have Izzy and Steven
I know that Richard and Frank are making good money and playing to massive crowds but I wonder if they will regret what they've done with their talent in the future.
They've created very little over long careers. Played other peoples songs a lot. Written and released bugger all.
Almost feels like they've given their best years to Axl and in the end will have very little to show for it - other that a shit load of money!
-
A live album would be a bit of a disappointment to me.
Feel like there's very few surprises left to be had with this tour.
Of course i would buy it though! That is what they've unfortunately got over all of us.
Most of us would buy it whether we are disappointed or not.
Having said that - more cover songs would be even more disappointing!

I could ban you for that
I would probably deserve it!
I feel terrible for saying that.
I take it all back - I love Slash!
He's just looking comfortable in his middle age.

DTJ always has a bit of welcome home (sanitarium) in the intro as well!

Why buy a book when you can go to the library??
But seriously - who gives a shit?

I love most is the lyrics and Slash's mini riffs between each line. I believe this song could/should have been on UYI 2. It's that good!
Slash's guitar playing on this song is brilliant.
I'd have it on one of the UYI's too. Listen to this much more than either LALD or KOHD.

Aint it fun is by far my favourite song off the spaghetti incident!
Love the intro.
The guitars on that whole album sound amazing.
Just a bit disappointing that it doesn't quite hit the mark - still enjoy listening to it though.
Garage Inc is an embarrassment. I'd take St Anger over that one any day!
How stupid do they all look on the cover!! Especially Lars of course. Holding a cigarette and he doesn't even smoke. What a wanker!

I would be happy enough never to hear SCOM again. Been overdone.

That's like your opinion man.
Look if you had read my comment, you would have seen that I said he was on the list, but he's not top of the list.
You would have also seen that I said I loved his playing, but I made valid points as to why he isn't the be all and end all for me and a little of other people.
Finally, I've heard this feel argument a million times and it's BS! I already said Richard hasn't written classic songs (again read before you respond). But to say he has no feel, just underlines a bias that is clear among some fans. He is a better technician than Slash, well in some respects that's true! But you say he's a better technician and then you say he has no feel? Well, bud! feel comes from developing as a player and having g the ability to play the ideas in your head effortlessly... That's being a technician. Every guitar player to some extent is a technician. I think that some people are using terms they don't really understand.
Technical proficiency is playing scales at a million miles an hour.
Feel is putting emotion into your playing.
A technician is someone skilled in the technique of an art or craft. I agree that you need technical proficiency to be able to apply the feel but i also think you can be a good technician with no feel - like richard fortus and bumblefoot.
Saying Slash is low on the list of good guitarists because he hasn't done anything amazing lately is bit rough.
Is paul mccartney low on the list of good songwriters because he hasnt written a good song lately.
You're also being very patronising about the guitar playing stuff - pretty proud of your playing are you?
I've also been playing for 20 odd years - not that you need to play guitar to have an opinion on guitar players.
I hope you're not as passive aggressive in your real life as you are online!
All the best.

I love Slash, but he's low on the list of greatest guitarists. Slash was the person that got me to pick up a guitar in the first place, so he has a special place in my heart... but let's me honest, he's not done anything jaw-dropping in a long., long time. I know some would argue about Anastasia etc. but I just hear a guitar player noodling over a backing track playing some vague harmonic minor/blues lines... not that far removed from anything else he's ever done. Slash up until the end of the first VR cycle was great, I don't really know if he's that great anymore though.
I honestly prefer Richard.... and I KNOW! Richard hasn't written songs as good as Slash! I'm just talking about feel, note choices, and consistency.
I don't think anyone could possibly argue that slash is not one of the greatest guitarists of all time. That's ridiculous!
Richard has no feel - check out his nov rain solos from back in the day. Terrible.
Point me in the direction of the amazing guitar playing Richard has done recently. Point me in the direction of the amazing songs and solos he has written in his career.
People are constantly mistaking technical proficiency for brilliant guitar playing.
I'll agree that Richard is a more technical guitar player than Slash but that doesn't mean shit all to me.

The one thing i like when listening to the eagles vids on YouTube during the 70s, don felders solos were spot on like on the record note for note and they are great to hear. I wish slash would do the solo to coma just how you hear on the record rather than kind of noodling it in.
I like it when solos sound different live.
Can always put the record on and listen to the solo there.
We're listening to one of the greatest guitarists of all time improvise!
-
Slither sounds great.
Axl's vocals are brilliant on this.
The harmony he sings in the chorus is amazing.
Axl can improve songs that i already thought were pretty perfect.
He really is a genius.
-
I don't know why people keep being surprised by Axl's off nights!
Sometimes your voice is not as good as other times. We don't know if he's been sick recently or what's been happening for him.
Sometimes it just doesn't happen.
He's out there having a real crack at it though. He's a legend.
I think we can look through rose coloured glasses sometimes when thinking of the 90's Axl - he had some shocking nights back then too!
I think it's amazing what he's doing.
P.S. Slash's solo sounded great.

Debut album from The Cruel Intentions - raw, sleazy, rock n' roll. Vains Of Jenna was one of my favourite bands and I've wanted a new record from Lizzy for years, and this didn't disappoint. It kinda sounds like Vains' 'Demo album' and Lit Up/Let Down, which is awesome. If you're into bands like Vains Of Jenna or Santa Cruz, definitely check this album out.
This is a great album. I'm loving it.
Always loved vains of jenna and have been hanging out for some new music from lizzy.
I should check out santa cruz. Any other tips for music like this?

Wolfmother were great in Vienna.
I saw them in Melbourne. Probably wasn't there fault to be honest. MCG is massive and the sound was like sludge for wolfmother.
GNR sounded awesome though so that's all that mattered to me

Definitely not wolfmother. They stank it up.

If young slash knew that old slash would be playing this shit music he would spew his guts up.
It sits somewhere between nickleback, matchbox 20 and maroon 5.
When did slash become pop music.
People on this thread "its great - so easy to listen to". Is that what we're after with a slash album?? If you like easy listening then boy have i got the artist foryou - Enya!
Ive been dreaming of a slash/axl album for 25 years and this makes me wonder if I should move on.
1. Call of the wild - dull, boring song that sounds like all their other crap songs. Myles bleats like a goat all over it. Id rather listen to the version of chop suey where all the weird goats do the singing.
2. Serve you right - more of the same. Nothing memorable about it at all. I hate myles weird whispering voice as much his goat bleating.
3. My antidote - after a bad start it actually gets worse! Slash trying to be tom morello for some reason. Am i missing something or have the first 3 songs got the same tempo, chorus, goat bleating and uninspired solo. Struggling to tell the songs apart at this stage.
4. Mind your manners - SMKC version of painting by numbers. Would struggle to dislike it more.
5. Lost inside the girl - Myles sings this one like he's a magician on a stage in las vegas. Weird whispery voice again. Makes a change from the goat i suppose. Pretty sure myles is actually saying lost inside the grrrrrrl. Corny lyrics and generic guitar.
6. Read between the lines - worst guitar riff slash has ever written. Pretty sure he's actually used it before but its all blending together at this stage. Terrible song. The verses make me cringe so much.
7. Slow grind - trying to pretend this song never happened. Appalling. Vocals hit a new low. I'm almost positive slash has ripped this riff off from himself bout 5 times.
8. The one you loved is gone - beautiful main guitar riff. Vocals are quite nice at the start. Meanders a bit. Solos aren't bad. Finally made it to a song thats semi listenable. What a relief.
9. When i first heard this song as a single i thought it was soft. Thought slash needed to grow some balls. Compared to the other "rock" songs on this album it sounds like lamb of god. Was disappointing as a single but turns out to be one of the better songs.
10. Sugar cane - don't think i can bring myself to talk about this one. Makes me too upset.
11. The great pretender - this song is trying be something that it doesnt quite become. The something that its trying to be is messages by VR. At least it doesn't sound like all the shit pop music on this album. Misses the mark though. Rubbish verses.
12. Boulevard of broken hearts - why does slash start with the riff from eye of the tiger? Myles is too much of a pansy for Rocky. This song is trying to be epic. My last bowel movement was more epic than this. This whole song seems incredibly forced - once again much like my last bowel movement. Lyrics are pathetic.
To say this album is disappointing is like saying that external hemorrhoids are a tad uncomfortable.
Slash needs to learn the difference between a good friend and a good vocalist.
I'd rather listen to axl if he was going through a techno funk folk opera stage and started singing in italian.
Slash seems to surrounded by band mates too scared to tell him he keeps bringing in the same song ideas.
Slash is my favourite guitarist ever. Has inspired me with my own guitar playing so much. But its getting to the stage where i think we need to stage an intervention. He needs to be saved from himself - and myles. This can't go on.
I know this might seem very self indulgent to quote and review my own review but I promised some people on this thread that i would give this album a chance. My first review was very scathing to put it mildly!
I want to be the sort of person who is willing to have an open mind willing to change and be able to admit i was wrong.
So this may not be a full retraction but i honestly have to admit that i am really enjoying quite few songs now.
1. Call of the wild - pretty good song. Catchy. Runs along at a good pace. Good solo. Don't like the bridge and wouldn't have it as the first song.
2. Serve you right - i really like this song. Great chorus, solo and the outro is one of the best parts of the album.
3. My antidote - don't love the scratching stuff but the solo is amazing. Cool chorus. I like it.
4. Mind your manners - love the degegegegegege into the solo and i like the solo. Catchy chorus. Not a bad song. Simple but fun.
5. Lost inside the girl - beautiful song. Best chorus on the album and amazing solo. Great outro. Very cool song.
6. Read between the lines - i still hate it.
7. Slow grind - i hate this one one even more.
8. The one you loved is gone - i might be a big soft sook but i love this song. Its beautful. Best ballad they've ever done in my opinion.
9. Driving rain - i really like this song. Great main riff. Should open the album i reckon.
10. Sugar cane. - terrible, terrible song.
11. The great pretender - good song. Like the melody line and solo.
12. Boulevard of broken hearts - sounds like a song muse would write. I like it. Not one of my favourites but i do actually like the song.
In summary - overall i really like the album. Made a spotify playlist without the 3 songs i hate and i'm much happier.
My first review came after i'd been listening to a lot of pantera and lamb of god so it sounded a bit soft. Slash has come up with some really good stuff here.
Myles will never be my favourite singer but once you get into the music he sits a bit deeper in the song and i can handle it then.
I have my confidence back that slash working with Axl will really produce some amazing stuff. Its got me very excited.
I feel a lot better now that i've retracted my previous review - i got q bit carried away. Living the dream is not GNR but its better than nothing - and more than that it's actually pretty cool. Just dont hope for it to be GNR - its a different beast entirely!

New GN'R Release Coming In 2019? **RUMOR THREAD**
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
Definitely!
The CD songs (with slash), covers and shadow are the closest thing to new music we can get these days.
The most interesting thing in the NITL tour to me has been Slash working on the CD songs.
