  1. since everyone else is weighing in with their guesses, here is mine:

remastered GNR Lies with "one in a million" taken out and a "new" song to replace it.  my guess is "rocker" written by Hollywood Rose.  perhaps it will actually be a newer song, like Rock the Rock, Hardschool or an ode to Taco Bell (mostlikely).

if you buy the box set you get a pair of your own "ass-less chaps" Axl Rose style circa 1986.

Fernando, you are welcome for the idea.  lol

but in all seriousness I hope they come out with a full album of new stuff.  I doubt it could live up to their past records, but I'd rather know for sure instead if playing the "what if" game for the rest of my life as it seems I will never move my fandom on to any other band

  2. song is great and I'd bet money that Slash could make it even greater

in other news they need to release this via proper outlet.  I'll pay money.  I found the song on an adult website and oh the things I saw......  I cant unsee........ wish I could.  but to each their own. those two fellas must have been workout buddies or something.

if this doesnt prove that some will do anything to hear new music, I dont know what will.  well, off to wash my eyes out with bleach!

I wonder if he really believes it when he says Axl never just phones it in? I mean, that's pretty much all Axl's done since 2011.

There is no way he can believe that.  I think that Duff and Slash are probably thrilled to get back on the GNR roster and the paycheck and the limelight and all, but at the end of the day some of their musical integrity has taken a major hit by comments like that as well sharing the same stage as the Mickey performances (aka pacing himself).  And you can't get that back.  Not at this stage of their careers.

I'm guessing Axl is just trying to preserve the harmony between him and Slash. (Duff as well to a lesser extent) Telling it like it is comes with a price. Axl seems to be an honest person so if he writes an autobiography I think there will be no option of avoiding the nasty.

Right now the three of them are friends again. A much better relationship compared to what you've described with the weasel drummer. Bottom line is what's more important to Axl: writing a book right now that will probably hurt at least Slash in some capacity or not risking fuckin' up a good thing.

Having said that, an Axl autobiography will be so great. Duff wrote 2 books. Axl could easily pull off a trilogy.

I would literally get a job as a fedex driver with the Hope of having Axls books in there headed to the book store a few days before the release date. (I'd read one before delivering of course)

I think he could put a book out and not rock the boat too much.  Slash has always said Axl has his version of events and I think as long as he let Slash read it ahead of time, things might be ok.

plus Slash cant leave.  needs the money to pay Perla

with that said as much as I'd like to buy Axls book, i dont think we will ever see it.  seeing that Axl wont promote any of his professional stuff, I doubt he would open up with alot of his personal stuff.  plus I could see the press twisting some of the stories in there (especially anything about Yoda) to make Axl look like a crazy (ier) person.  headline wound be "Axl, the wife beating, racist, riot starting, occult believing, taco bell enthusiast has released a tell all book about GNR and Slash!"

but it would be a hell of a book. I'd be the first to buy it.  one copy for every bathroom in my house for sure.

I am saying that until Axl took his favorite fromhimself and fired everyone else, he considered the band to be a full fledged band.

The 6 members of the band that played '91-'93 were considered as 'band members' not hired hands.

Do post '93 members appear on any official merch?  No.  Did Matt/Gilby/Dizzy appear on official merch and logos - oh yes.

Has Axl reffered to them as full time members before Live Era - oh yes.

This may be new to the fans post '93, but yes, that was a band.  What shares they had?  Nobody knows.  Hell nt even Slash/Ax/Duff have equal shares nor did they buy equal amount of Izzy's partnership, but that is something else.

Point is, those guys were considered by the rest of the band as members.  Those guys for 3 years made Saskatoon, Buenos Aires, Paris, Rio, Chicago, Oklahoma - standard quality shows - after them, went all to shit.

No PRO shot today sounds/looks 50% of any of those shows.  Rio, Apollo...you name it.

Finally,  many years ago Gilby spoke about his status in GNR, saying anyone thinking he was an additional member or hired hand is hugely mistaken.  Linear notes about him and Matt in Live Era came to them as huge surprise.   Let's say Gilby knows what he is talking about and there is a reason he appeared on HoF with Slash/Duff/Matt/Adler.

I can see your point. but technically Gilby was at the RRHOF because Duff called him the night before (and he wasnt inducted)https://sleazeroxx.com/gilby-clarke-says-not-being-inducted-into-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-with-guns-n-roses-was-a-bummer/.  but I see your point as to the members considering Gby as a member due to the invitation.

I think we have different definitions of hired hand, but there's no need to knit pick.  doesnt really matter

one thing odd is that the 2012 GNR calendar has pics of Axl, duff and Slash... and one of Bumblefoot

2013 calendar has a few pics of Fortus.  so post 93 members have technically been on merch.  but certainly not as much as the AFD5 have been for sure

Sorry but no.  Frank, Fartus, Mel, Bucketfoot, Absha, Tobias, Finck, Bumblehead... totally NO charisma type of musicians.

Charisma doesn't have anything to do with seating or standing, sunglasses or not, it is something you either have or don't. You were born with it or didn't.

As for Matt and Gilby - no.

Matt and Gilby were not hired musicians (not in that sense).  They were full time members and as such labeled by Axl in the interviews.  They were also on GNR pinball machine and on public merch and logos - unlike Fartus, Frank, Mel or any other post '93 line up.

Only once they were gonne with the others did Axl turn the story around and begun the story 'additional musicians!'.

Anyone thinking Matt and Gilby were 'hired hands' - was not around in the day or does not have full information.

As for Duff and Slash likeing Fartus and Frank - one doesn't like either, the other doesn't like one of those 2.  Either way, Slash and Duff hanging out with Matt and Gilby and not really interacting with Fartus and Frnak speaks volumes I won't go into.

I dont understand.  so you are saying that Gilby and Matt were given shares of GNR and were equal members as Axl, Duff and Slash?  I dont believe Dizzy is an owner, so he would be a hired hand.

I would think you are either a partner in the band/ brand which would make you an employer (slash, axl, duff) or an employee aka hired hand.  cant imagine Gilby would be given partnership seeing he joined right before they were going on tour.  I could see if he wrote a few songs with them or appeared on a non live album with original music

maybe your definition of a hired hand would be like Teddy Zig Zag and the horn girls?  in that case I would tend to agree with you.  but I would think you can be a full time member and still be an employee- much like I work full time for my employer.  so I'd consider myself a hired hand even though I work for my company full time.

    maybe I'm wrong?  please explain

lol.  well the only time I can come on this forum is while I'm sitting in the bathroom.  My wife literally thinks I have a GI disease and has threatened to make a doctor appointment for me tomorrow.  lol.  I tried to explain, but honestly it's just going to be easier go to the doctor and waste a copay

So I was just listening to the GNR Central Podcast and a dude on it claimed that in addition to the CD era tracks and the AFD rerecording there is allegedly the original recording of Axl screwing Steven's then GF which of course was used for Rocket Queen, crazy stuff

I'd actually want to hear that bc I have this theory that the 7 seconds of sex we hear in the song is actually the total amount of sex they had during that "encounter".

if my theory is true then Axl is still my hero..... lasts 4 seconds longer than me!!!  lol

Well, finally got everything cleaned up from the kitchen flooding this morning. Estimated $800 to $1k in damages for personal belongings. Potentially more if the dish washers wiring is fried. Flooring and sub-flooring are... rough to say the least. Next week should be interesting. Hopefully there won’t be any warping or integrity damage to the flooring. All because the dog jumped up on the counter to get the trash can, knocked it over and it it the faucets lever and pushed the head to run on the counter for about 6 hours! Awesome day!

Time to kick back and relax and watch everyone here 😎

you called your insurance company, right?  put in a claim and try not to stress about it.  good luck!

    Question for all -

I'm not a hardcore fan of any other band. Do hardcore fans of other bands behave like hardcore GNR fans? Do they hoard material? I alway thought fandom was supposed to be a communal experience. This is why sporting events and concerts can be so enjoyable. People who are passionate about the same things getting to share in that passion.  Not meaning to criticize anyone I'm just genuinely curious.

I'm not a hardcore fan of any other band outside of GNR.  my take is that GNR fandom is a totally different beast that the fandom of any other band.  who else could put out little to no new music for 25 years and still sell out stadiums?  who else doesn't acknowledge their fans and still keep them?   who else has a rumor that 60 plus songs exist that haven't been released and when 2 incomplete versions leak a forum has 60 plus pages of fans discussing it?

I dont know there are other fanbases who deal with this stuff, but as I said, in my opinion this is a whole different animal.

The band's management and/or other actors may pursue this leak vigorously. It's not worth shutting the forum down over some leaks any diligent person should be able to find.

    yeah, that's a good point

Look up what happened to Skewll.

hey, sorry but I have no idea who that is or where to find out what happened.  but I'm guessing a whole bunch of trouble.

  12. can someone who runs this forum explain to me the logic behind not posting links to the leaked stuff??  I get its copyrighted, but there are plenty of links in other posts to other copyrighted stuff (see the links to some of Slashs best solos on his guest spots on YouTube)

I mean from a money standpoint I would one would hurt the artist financially much worse by posting a free link to YouTube to their released copyrighted music which can be (and is likely meant to be) purchased on iTunes vs a link to copyrighted music which will never be released.   the artist cant charge money for music they haven't released, so as long as the person posting it isnt charging anything there shouldnt be anything wrong, right?

I get that there is the potential for this stuff to be released, but it's been 19 YEARS!!!!

I get that my logic and the law are two totally different things, but why do you allow some links to some copyrighted songs but not others?  shouldnt you allow all links or no links?????

22 seconds of Checkmate / Hard School

    3 seconds of Atlas

Checkmate / Hard School sounds fucking FANTASTIC!!!!!  How was this not released???

Fuck, maybe we should pay the $15k!

if the price goes down to 5k, I'll chip in some $$$ if a group of us want to buy.

its F'N ridiculous this stuff was never released.  I FINALLY heard the hard school clip and thought it had the potential to be better than anything on CD.  how did Hard School not make it, but half those crappy songs did???

  14.

remember last year when several thousand fans signed a petition asking Izzy to do a performance (I was one who signed).  the petition just asked for a solo performance, not a reunion. we also stated we would support it financially by either going to the show or paying to watch it streamed online.

Izzy didnt even acknowledge the petition!  wow he is so cool!

and he didnt show up to any NITL rehearsals!   cool!

well I guess I'll go listen to FP Money right now.  I think the FP stands for "this song is Fucking Pointless"

hey you say Izzy has great songs on all 11 albums.  I cant seem to find them.  can you give me a list so I can try to give them another listen?  I'm not trolling, I seriously want to know what the good songs are so i can give them another try.  I just remember being very underwhelmed at each of Izzys albums when I played them thru spotify or YouTube, etc.  maybe I didnt give them a fair shot.

so...... I realize that everyone who has contributed to this thread probably hasnt read every single page, but I have to say that I'm pretty surprised that not one fan who thinks "Izzy is the greatest thing since Axl hid above a doorway in the Estranged video" has responded with a brief list of the awesome songs Izzy has contributed to the world with his solo work.

I'm seriously asking.  I quit on his solo work after 117 degrees.  everything I heard after that album sounds boring (this coming from a guy who loves weather forecasts - which Izzy seems to give one every album)

but I'm willing to give it another shot.  can someone give me a 10 song playlist from Izzys solo career that I can listen to in the gym tomorrow?

He played four full concerts in 2000 in Japan :)

His solo music is great, some real gems on every album, all 11 of them.

He also released singles with unreleased bsides, EPs, youtube vids, & theres about 25+ other songs you can track down on bootleg (eg. Spoonful, FSO Ragga, Keep On Movin').

He's done probably a dozen guest songs on other musicians albums too like Kittyviolet, Burden Brothers, Mark Lanegan, Outpatience etc.

Izzy fans are spoilt for choice really, so much good shit out there that Izzy just doesn't promote, because he doesn't want to

My only gripe is that he doesn't tour his solo music often at all. He and Axl are the exact opposite on that front. Axl hasn't really stopped touring, which is great, but he's only dropped 1 album since I became a fan back in 1998 <_<
