my guess is that they things may have gone the 1995 route..... all sick of each other, creative differences, and trying to figure out how to work with eachother. concerts are probably the easiest thing for them considering they dont have to see eachother until soundcheck (assuming everyone shows up) and then go out to play songs which are at a minimum a decade old. but having those egos finding a way to write something new that their collective names will be on and scrutinized to no end.... idk. seems like a stressful environment that might not be so easy to get along in. this is GNR after all
I mean, the quotes from Slashs interviews have a very 1996 type of feel to them. "yeah everything's cool blah blah blah".... and then they break up. certainly not what I'm hoping for

just hope for snoop dogs sake this goes well. because we all remember the last time he did a gig with middle aged white guys...

Cool, I love Snoop Dogg! Honestly one of their best opening acts ever!
At some point it was rumoured that the next album would have dozens of guest artists, so not entirely impossible I guess. That would certainly get some fans blood boiling over here.
Do you know what a millennial is? Millennials are people born between 1980-1995, so the oldest millennials are already 40 years old. Trust me most of them have heard about GNR.
you are probably right for the folks born 1982- 1988. 1989- 95 has no clue.

snoop dogg = free weed for Axl
if GNR covers nothin but a G thing with snoop dog on vocals, I'm gonna have to move to a place where noone has ever heard of GNR and pretend like I was never a fan. I'm guessing that would be a city filled with millennials. fml. lol.

my vote for a book- "dont forget to take ALL the chicken out before you try it on" by Buckethead.
or here's a close second- "oh no, not again!" a SHORT story by Axl's bike shorts

GNR will be the first band to play on the moon in 2029. the show will still be part of the NITL tour and will feature the same set list that they play now with the exception of covering "loving the alien" for obvious reasons for this gig.
they will leave steven adler behind on the moon after the gig and claim it was an accident. he will still only play one song during the moon gig and call Eddie Trunk afterwards to bitch about it when he gets back to earth 3 years later.

I really hope he talks about the dynamics of the relationship between him and Axl. seems like neither can stand the other.
I'd love to hear what it was like to produce Poe though. ok, not really but I thought there were a couple of cool songs there.
you think he will talk about the NITL exclusion at all? if so, I doubt we will ever see him on a gnr stage again.

I thought Axls vocals for the Dublin 2010 show were great. and my favorite part is how he just stood there for most of the show. lol. vocals were probably so good because he didnt run around at all

normally I hate reaction videos but I'm thinking about posting my own next week. gonna take my day after Thanksgiving dump in a public restroom, not flush it, and then video everyones reaction to the disaster.
I feel like that would have more substance than any of Ken's reaction videos.
but then again, maybe ken will do a reaction video to my video..."...as you can hear, that man is screaming for help with his belly voice. let's see what it sounds like with some head voice with the nose nice and clenched"

I would think he doesnt like it- which is why all the stuff on YouTube happened.

Axl doesn’t strike me as a stoner. I feel like the whole NITL crew could use some weed... loosen up the whole enterprise.
have you read Slashs book? says Axl is a big pothead. heard that from somewhere else too, cant remember where off the top of my head

I mean does Axl have anything better to do on a Tuesday afternoon in LA than to go have a conversation with another human being that millions of people can listen to later.
ideally he’d be promoting something but with the stories and career of Axl it would be a great conversation.
Slash interviews just don’t have much substance anymoreAxl on Joe Rogan would either be epic or a total disappointment.
dissapontment: Joe: so what do you do these days?
Axl: eat alot and play with cats. I also fuck with people on YouTube. other than that been learning long division, which is a bitch and I'll be writing a a whole album about.
Epic:
Joe: you ever try DMT?
Axl. of course! after Yoda died I needed to find a new portal into the spiritual realm. I then started making my own DMT from the pinial glands of musicians you have never heard of. in fact, Paul Huges gland told me it was time for a reunion. Chris Pitmans gland reminded me to change my bath towels. so I'd say their lives were given for the greater good for humanity, wouldn't you agree?
in fact I got Obama coming over next week with some Brazilian politicians and we are going to try some of my Jeff Isabell blend. you want to come over?
Joe: sure I'll be there. so you seem so calm these days. you smoking alot of weed?
Axl: yes, which is why I'm always out of breath. but the best way to get all if your aggression out is to punch a fucking Elk. you ever do that Joe?
Joe: um no, but I'd like to send you home with some Elk meat. to eat not punch.
Axl: wait, you can eat it? Beta, ask your connection at Taco Bell to make us a GNR elk taco
Beta: that's a grubhub driver, Mr. Axl. I dont actually know anyone.

I think some people are confused by all of this. GNR is a legacy band which basically means people with a mid life will forgo paying several utility bills that month to go see a band play songs that remind them of a "better", more carefree time of their life that took place 30 years ago. hindsight is always 20/20
this is now a job to the GNR guys. they might dress up in t shirts with skulls on them, ripped jeans and sing the lyrics to songs they wrote while living in the gutter, but several decades of an inflated ego, loss of reality stemming from being a multimillionaire and not having to open your own door, having people beg you let them "help you out" and seeing your face on tv, etc will help you lose touch with yourself, reality and your fans.
I'm just taking this for what it is. my favorite band from my youth still out there playing my favorite songs. I know this doesnt mean to them what it did 25 years ago. doesnt mean the same to me now as it did then either, but I do have an appreciation for it.
it's funny how things change though. because back then when I'd leave a show I'd be wishing I could get a glimpse of the crazy parties and stuff they are doing backstage while I sit trying to fight parking lot traffic to get out and wishing I had their life.
now when I leave a show I think of 5 guys in different dressing rooms getting ready for bed in their own ways. I'd bet Axl is reading over that nights merch sales with his accountant (knowing the way he promotes people its probably his former dog groomer) while sipping on some orange metamucil. Slash is trying to find the page of the novel about pterodactyls he was reading right before going on stage and wondering how Perla won all of his book markers in the divorce settlement. Duff doing old man yoga trying not to fart while Susan videos him for her Instagram. and the rest of the group trying to find a fair way to split an Uber back to the holiday inn. lol. so basically I now do have a life like theirs (just with a lot less money, lol).
I am definitely interested in new music, but I'm not holding my breath. again, it is what it is. I'm just thankful we are all alive to celebrate our youth together.

That would actually be a pretty sick setlist.. Love that you threw Dirty Little Thing in there.. Just an awesome rock song and suit Axl perfectly.
thanks man. honestly I always wished they'd throw in dirty little thing over slither simply bc Axl could actually do it justice.

Eddie is one of those industry guys who thinks he's better than all of the fans, or at least that's the impression I've always got from him.
you are spot on. I went to see SMKC in 2013 in Bethlehem, Pa. eddie truck sat in an empty section which was closed off to anyone else and was a dick to the fans around him. I only knew him from that metal show at the time and thought he would be cool, like he was one of the fans. he was a total dick. wouldn't shake hands, or even acknowledge the fans with the exception of an awkward headnod as he left half way they the set

I'd take it as a positive, rather than being frustrated that he didn't answer.
Think of it as you are on a date with a hot chick, and half way through the meal you're like "are we going to have sex later?" and she doesn't answer, but she's continuing to give you her time and attention..
Fernando is basically flirting with you guys. We'll see in April.
I've been in that hot chick situation many times. the hot chick tends to continue to allow you to give her attention and spend money on her. once she gets what she wants, she out- no sex.
but then again I'm ugly AF so maybe my situation is unique. lol

I am not positive but I remember hearing Richard say that he was asked to play in Slash's band OR he was playing with a band and the prospect of Slash coming up on stage with them was thrown around but didn't happen (and he wouldn't have played out of respect for Axl), OR that he played on a track for some band and Slash played on it too. I think all of the above might actually have some truth to them.
all 3 are correct. Richard claims s
Slash tried recruiting him or something to that effect
Slash did a song with Dead Daisies and was rumored to join thine on stage to which Richard was going to get off the stage out of respect for Axl. Slash played on "Lock and load" by the Dead Daisies before Fortus joined that band

Does Duff still insist they dont have a set list during his interviews?
as far as Axls weight- yes he definitely put on another 10 to 15 pounds. not a huge deal as he either hates working out or (more likely) hates eating healthy, or a side effect from his meds. His appearance is his business, but one you start getting too big, you risk heart attacks, etc. would prefer for him to stay healthy for a good long time yet

ok here's my guesses to what makes this once in this lifetime, which in theory shouldnt qualify for Not in this Lifetime...
guesses are from least likely to most likely to happen
1. afd5 get back on stage- no chance. they hate steven and izzy hates them
2. new music- nope. new covers dont count
3. deep cuts from UYI- I think there's a 50/50 shot we hear locomotive, bad apples or dust n bones. sadly, my world still doesn't make the set list but will on the 3,000 leg of the NITL tour.
4. Axl lost the "little bo peep" hair doo and brought back the cornrows, or perhaps to the shock of his stylist, switches race hairstyles again and goes all out looking like that Gangam Style guy
5. 3 versions of the seeker- one with Sabastian Bach and the other with Angus. third version is on harmonica
I was going to say that perhaps the reason for the small venue is so they can do a meet and greet with the fans after, but then I remembered this is GNR and they dont spend time with people they hate (read: Matt Sorum, or GNR fans)
in all honesty the reason this is once in a lifetime is venue size. that's it. same set list, outfits, pictures on Instagram from Kat, etc.

Do people exercise/walk/bike more over there? Personally, I think a big problem here in the US is a large percentage of the population doesn't do any physical activity.
people smoke a ton more over there. so that could have something to do with being thinner.
is fast food a big thing in Europe?

So you think this stuff was on the menu too?
I'd love to hear this one. anyone think Izzy will care if they leak? I mean I doubt the guys has anything more than an old AOL dial up modem to access the internet. probably wouldn't even hear about the leak for a few more years. lol
can we start a go fund me for Appetite for Distortion to get Zutaut on the show to get his insight in this?

it's funny how things change. back I the day this band used to say they didnt record music for the critics- they did it all for themselves. and now we are worried about how to sell an album????
I'm not one to tell someone when they have made enough money. if your half a billion dollar tour wasnt enough, then whatever.
But maybe this band should consider releasing this next one not for money, not for themselves, not the critics, not the charts. it should be released for "all the fans who stuck with us, through all the fucking shit." remember that line, Slash? or does the dick measuring contest, aka the bill board charts, take precedence now adays?
I mean, the GNR brand stayed relevant for 20+ yrs of relative inactivity. then football stadiums were sold out with no new music. who made that all possible?
