Because in my opinion it is not a good song. It is ok but at the bottom of their catalog IMO. I think all songs they have released recently with the exception of Absurd are better than Bad Apples. You can still like it even if I don't. My opinion should have zero bearing on your enjoyment of any song.

How does a one off release of essentially a B-side tarnish their legacy? Does this song somehow erase all the prior songs and albums that are loved? Anyone can dislike it for whatever reason they choose, but to claim it does anything to their legacy or their historical greatness is just foolish hyperbole and rhetoric. Just don't listen and play what you do like. The release does nothing to hinder anyone from enjoying their previous work.

Personally I think The General is better than You Ain't The First, Bad Apples, Garden of Eden, My World, So Fine, New Rose, Attitude, You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory, and almost all of Chinese Democracy except the title track and Madagascar which are the only 2 songs I like on that album.

I never liked anything Buckethead did that much. I can appreciate the talent but I am not a fan of fast noodling or his style in general. But I get why some get awed by it. Just leaves me cold personally. Technically impressive but no emotion resonance to my ears/heart.

I don't understand the issues with the mix. The vocals are clearly intentionally distorted like so many NIN and other industrial songs from the late 90's early 2000s. Never had any issues making them out either. What devices are people listening on that can't make them out?

Yes. The first vocal is Mickey to my ears. Starting at 11 seconds. I can't listen to it.

Is The General going to be released in Hi-Rez formats? Not sure if this was mentioned already. I genuinely do not understand the love Better gets. I don't know how anyone gets past those Mickey vocals.

Unpopular opinion, Bumblefoots Nightrain solo is the best live one performed by any member of GN'R including Slash.

I am loving the General and to a lesser extent Monsters more than anything on CD or any of the other 3 songs released since. Both are better than Absurd, Hard Skool, and Perhaps to me. I have listened to the 2 tracks more than any of the others. Now they just need to complete Quick Song and I will be happy. That is the only other song out of all the leaks I enjoyed at all. The rest can stay in the vault IMO.

Steven for sure based on purely how I enjoy his drumming. If he never had any drug issues and subsequent health issues and was able to handle full worldwide years long tours I think the bank would have been better off IMO. My ranking of drummers I enjoy listening to (not including studio only or one off replacements). Talent wise Brain is top IMO. Steven Brain Matt Frank

You would be surprised how many bands use session drummers on their albums and a lot are not even credited. Many times the official drummer in the band is good live but cannot replicate it in the studio at least to how the band and or producer wants it to sound.

I keep hoping someone with the ability and talent to make custom artwork would do some for the live shows in the set but so far nada. It is confusing when looking at the artwork in my audio player as to what I want to actually listen to since the studio stuff and the live stuff all have the same artwork.

GN'R is a legacy act to me. New music doesn't really interest me at this point. The version of Nightrain from Rock AM Ring 2006 is probably my favorite version of the song and has not been performed or sounded better since then IMO. At least not in any soundboards or broadcasts I have heard. There could be other lesser quality audience recordings of a better performance somewhere but those don't count for me as I won't listen to them regularly.

Ok so I am confused. The guy who mixed the shows/songs for the Box set confirmed they mixed multiple shows including London 1991 for possible use. They did use a few tracks on the bonus discs. But these credits seem to state that a NEW mix was done by completely different people in 2023? Does that make sense? Did they actually approve the mixes in 2022 but then paid a new mixer to redo these songs in 2023? I mean that seems like a big waste of time and money for a sub gift, no? Does anyone with good ears notice any difference in the quality of the mix in the bonus tracks in the box set and these tracks on the EP?

The guy who mixed the shows confirmed he did multiple full shows for possible inclusion for the box set. So they do have fully mixed London 91, Paris 92, Rio 91, and maybe Tokyo 92. I am still not convinced those bonus tracks were newly mixed, but it is possible. Jinx! lol

Nightrain Coma Sweet Child

Loving these live tracks. Definitely want the whole show now and I still don't get why they don't just release it. Does anyone know what happened during Civil War when there are no vocals for a bit? I assume mic issues but they don't mention it and I have never heard or seen anything from this show about it, so I wasn't sure. Nice they left this untouched. Hopefully if they do release more archive live stuff they keep this mindset. I made a personal version with the other live tracks from the UYI Deluxe Editions which I am cranking as I type this. MORE LIVE RELEASES TEAM BRAZIL!!

Very excited for those London tracks. Still wish it was complete but still not having official live material from the band for so long and getting so much great stuff in the box set and now this makes me a happy fan.
