Just to change topic somewhat.  Hard School was on Youtube for a day last week, thats how come I heard it, obviously taken down pretty quickly.  Just wondered if it meant anything, clutching at straws here.

Well if there was going to be new music now would be the perfect time but as there is no indication of this (and has not been for years apparently) I give up hope of there being any.  I shall not be going to see tham as I want to go to a concert not a sing a long.  The GNR that I came across a year ago is the group of long ago.  But they seem happy, they get big audiances and lots of cash so be it.

I have heard this record being talked about so much and now I have finally got to hear it and it is simply brilliant!  Why was this not released or played live, it seems such a waste.

If they were going to realease music would they not do it before the next tour starts which is soon?  If so not much time unfortunately.

If you could do it all again what would you change?

We in the UK had a 3000 capacity live music concert last night, no need for masks or self distancing just a covid test beforehand and a few days later.  It was an 'experiment' to see how it goes.   

Wow the work you are putting into this is just extrodinary!  Such an interesting read especially as the board is pretty void of posts at the moment.  Thankyou for your hard work it is extremely appreciated.

Wow the rawness , energy and Axl's voice, they really did have it all.

Fred and the Flinstones  with Sebastian as Barny Rubble, Beta as Wilma and Lana del Ray as Betty, Slash as Dino and Duff as Bam Bam.   

Fred wants to start a rock group called 'Rocks and Roses' but Barney is unsure ...

This selection was such a gem compared to the other selects.  They really had it going on in 2016 then.  Axl is more confident, moves less dad like and they are enjoying themselves and each other.  Oh and I know this may be irelevant to some but Axl has a bit of his sexiness back!

As a newish fan I have not attended a concert and was not going to bother going to next years shows but now, after seeing this, I may well change my mind.

RIP Prince Phillip, end of an era as alferose said.  I do feel sympathy for the Queen as her husband of 73 years has passed.

I laughed and felt incredibly sad at the same time, I hope to god he sounds ok next year or there will be more of this kind of thing.  What happened, he was such a shining star in his prime, I hope he is happy.

The problem with this is of course that it takes a lot of time, and that the end result can be a bit muddy in terms of having too any layers and various players trying to fit their playing into existing songs. We saw this when Robin left the band and Richard later got to add his parts, when Brain re-recorded Josh's drum tracks note-by-note, when Bumble replaced some guitar tracks and tried to add new tracks to existing songs. This takes a lot of time and means that any release date is pushed back. This continuous process of replacing band members and having newcomers add their input to the songs, is one of the many reasons why it took so long to release Chinese Democracy.

Releasing the follow-up to Chinese Democracy with Slash and Duff in the band without the record featuring Slash and Duff, is probably a no-go for the record label and it is plausible that Slash and Duff would have contractual stipulations saying that any music released with them in the band should feature contributions from them. From this I assume that what has been happening lately is Duff and Slash adding their parts to CD2 songs. 

Back to the question: Would we have had music earlier if Slash and Duff didn't rejoin Guns N' Roses? I think that is a possibility. Maybe Axl realized that touring with yet another lineup featuring brand new band members would make less sense financially. Concert sales had been dwindling and the public would probably not be interested in yet another new lineup of unknowns. Maybe Axl considered two options, either releasing CD2 which was more or less finished (I believe) to boost interest in shows with whatever lineup, or get Slash and Duff back to do a massively anticipated and valuable "reunion tour". Unfortunately (for me), the latter was chosen and here we are.

Through all this I am NOT saying we are not getting new music. I am just leaning towards the possibility that we would have had new music sooner if the "reunion" hadn't happened. Maybe. Who knows?
