I'm not saying Axl wasn't their reason for leaving. Sure, some may not like Axl, some may love him... either way.... their reasons aren't really unified. They all left because the chose to leave.I will follow Velvet Revolver because I think they pump out some damn fine kick ass rock, and as much as I love the current GnR and what they're doing, they aren't doing the dirty rock I love that VR does. They're doing something different, but something I love too. So I listen to VR and GnR equally. I don't think what Axl has said will change my opinion about the music. Street of Dreams, Just 16, Better, Dirty Little Thing, Sorry, Fall to Pieces. They're ALL great tunes. The reasons GnR sort of fell apart in the 90's are really shitty, regardless of who's version of events is true (and btw, I am not even going to comment here since I wasn't there!). I just hope that the two bands that have caused such a split in the fan bases continue and grow and create more quality music for everyone to enjoy.Axl, thanks again for your time here. I'm massively impressed. You tend to find your average indie artists will communicate but not the 'superstar' musicians who people usually associate with dissapearing acts... a label which you've epitomized!!!! You put it all together and eat it. It tastes kind of bitter and hard to digest. The next day you are sitting on the john screaming like a bitch for hours. It had more to do with management than the band as our then manager was always tryin’ to convince someone they should fire me. As I had stopped speaking with him he sensed his days were numbered and was bending any ear he could along with attempting to sell our renegotiation out for a personal payday from Geffen.It was added to the contract and everyone signed off on it. It wasn’t hidden in fine print etc as you had to initial the section verifying you had acknowledged it.Very good. Any well written paper should maintain consistent font size.In my opinion the reality of the shift and the public embarrassment and ridicule by others (which included a lot of not so on the level business types he was associating with at the time) for not contesting the rights to the brand name, were more than Slash could openly face. Also we aren’t lawyers or formally business educated so it was just a matter of all of us being naïve and doing what we thought was right at the time. Slash was imo being on the up and up in agreeing I had the rights and I wasn’t trying to be some snake in the grass pulling a fast one. The others could’ve cared less.But when the reality of the breakup hit and the strategy to have me crawl back was put into play Slash had to save face and get business team and public support. Painting me as the one who held a crowd hostage forcing the others to sign over the name worked out pretty well in that regard. I’m the bad guy and Duff, the fans and most importantly himself were the victims. Oh and they had actually made the sacrifice for the crowd, the people, the fans at the show. But again….
