Melody vs Rhythm

But yeah, what do you think is more important to music?

I know they are both essential but do you think one is more important than the other?

melody, you can work a good rhythm around a melody and come out with a banging track but with rhythm and no melody you can still make a good track but it won't have that quality to it where it's like...got that X factor. Melody is what makes a song stick in your head, rhythm is what drives it. Depends what you're looking for in a given track i suppose.

They're both as equally important in writing a song. A good rhythm can be inspired by a good melody, and vice versa.

Whereas that's all about the groove, I do enjoy a good groove, I just think it has nothing on a well-executed melody.

I love a good rhythm, but it bothered me on CD tracks like Better n especially IRS how much the grinding industrial rhythm drowned out some of the beautiful melodies on the final album versions.
