Her lyrics are nothing different to any other generic pop 'artists', her voice is great but you hardly hear it through the autotune and her beats are created by other people. She's not anything special or groundbreaking.For someone who claims artistry and creativity is a big part of her music, we don't see much of it. After watching that video I felt like the music was just an aside and not a particularly distracting one to whatever else was going on in the video (which I'm still completely wtf about). I don't really have a problem with Madonna, but I would have never bought one of her albums and gone to see her. The early 90s had an absolute overflow of good music, so yeah, I'm curious to whether she'd be popular in that timeframe up against so many other good musicians.
