I think he is saying along the lines of:

Do what ever - do it your own way, don't try to be like anyone including him. Don't read the lyrics, and some how think you should live that way too, or he has fail in his intentions. As for his intentions, well I an only guess that, as with most lyrics, people are communicating their thoughts, for whatever reason.
