gunsfanoldie
Well as long as they GNR (or at least someone in that company) is acknowledging the Howard Stern thing, maybe thats a hopeful sign that he would go on. I know, probably not, but nice to think about. I'd definitely have alot more respect for Axl. Howard gives a tough interview, but in the end the person being interviewed usually comes out looking pretty good. And Stern wouldn't throw softballs as much as Trunk did (even though I love Trunk and understand why he did).Like someone said, the Billy Joel interview was fantastic. Its just a conversation and isn't meant to get very heated or anything. Howard is a big music fan and could really give a well rounded discussion. And everyone here should be happy, because Howard would kiss Axl's ass plenty like he does to all his interviewees. Axl, you do 4 interviews in 10 years. This is one that would be beneficial and would get alot of people off your ass (even though I know you probably don't care) if you were honest and rational. Damn_Smooth
Only in the world of being an Axl fan are people glad when their favorite singer doesn't perform live. Only in this forum is doing things for your fans considered selling out.Axl's got tons of integrity and doesn't sell out......and the fans are the ones who lose.So he didn't end a U.S. tour a month or so ago, and he's not touring Europe in less than a month? You're confusing me hear Groghan. Unless you're just bitching because he didn't reunite. If that's the case, carry on. You'll definitely have no problem finding someone to join you on that crusade. I agree that Axl would come out a hell of a lot more positive in a fair balanced interview and Howard Stern might just well be the person to do it. saulhudson88
So are the 16million fans on FB fan of Axl' current coverband or the REAL Gn'R???That question isn't that hard I think...
Mega_Music
I think its all about they are the kings of the media. Since Howard is known as being the king of all media. If Axl would actually do Howard I would hope its just Howard and Axl no Robin, Booey, Fred or etc. Just let Howard sit Axl down and just talk. Stern is by far one of the best interviewers every on radio, he just gets a bad rap because of the porn stars and sex talk.

trqster
"In this scenario, he controls the name and everything that happens and it's his game. I mean, it's his thing, he goes on when he wants he plays where he wants. He's the boss."Yup, pretty much this.Indeed and interestingly enough former GnR members (Slash, Duff & even Adler) have made exactly the same choice with their own hired hands bands. It's good to be the boss and run the show.
GibsonLP
It's hardly running the show though. cyanide3
Howard is a big music fan. If Howard really wants it get Axl on his show, he won't say anything to harsh even its his opinion on the Rock Hall to try and make that happen. It's Howard, but he isn't stupid. dizzy k
Before I sound off in this topic there are many things that I need to explain 1st: The green bay packers are not owned by 1 person in fact they are owned by the fans. They sell pieces of paper to the fans saying they own the team. So what Im gettting to is... Axl Rose... you have a piece of paper saying your own the name "Guns N' Roses" but in reality you dont own the band.... the fans do. This past saturday we the fans inducted Slash Dizzy Matt Steven Duff Izzy and yourself. You make not like it because of "the current band", and thats what hurts. I adored "nu" GNR and the record Chinese Demorcacy, but for you to go out in a letter saying you recieved "jabs" from old members when you yourself called Slash a cancer then several months later his own mother died of cancer it seemed strange for you to use that excuse. Then when Steven called your current lineups "hacks" but next day apologized for it you dont allow him to apologize when bumble accepted it personally, or how about when DJ says you should have peformed with the original lineup? Whats the hurt in that? This all equals to you being selfish and not caring about what the fans think. In case you dont know the fans are at least 80% angry at you, and if we do the math thats atleast 20% people that are either on your side because they have no idea who you were b4 1994 or others who have a life and dont have the time to weigh in on there opinion. And whats sad is you dont care... about the 80% or 20%... Thats where I crossed myselffoff the "nu" GNR fan club. You show up to shows 2.5 hours late or 3 hours... We only asked for you to show up and accept this honor but no "you felt like you werent respected"... really are you fucking kidding me? No Brett Favre will not accept his induction to the NFL HOF because he's not "respected"... Dear Lord Earlier today the GNR facebook page liked the "Howard Stern show page"... Did you hear what Howard said today? I know "nu" GNR fans did because they heard only the 1st 5 minutes of the show where Howard stood up for Axl not showing up for the RNRHOF because he's "crazy" but they failed to listen to the part where he said if it wasnt for slash duff steven and izzy "axl wouldnt be famous". Then I found it more funny when the original lineup was around Axl would show up around 11pm instead of him showing up around 2am like he wants to. Lets look at the current scoreboard: When Axl was with Slash Duff and Izzy the band released 6 albums and Axl Showed up at 11pm to concerts.. Without Slash Duff and Izzy Axl released 1 album and shows up to concerts at 1:30am-2am. Needless to say Axl needs some1 to get in his face otherwise GNR shows will start at 2am instead of the 11pm start time on your ticket stub, and in all honesty Im not a slash fan or axl fan but for axl to reach his potential as a performer he needs slash and duff just as much as slash and duff needs axl and we all know where that stands.WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE: And I said this earlier. You said in your letter there was no win situation for you which is utter bullshit. You could have done a via satellite thanking the fans and saying you have great memories with the men on stage and (in reality your not lieing) and you could have done the record studio so "nu" GNR fans could finger themselves thinking a "nu" GNR album was coming out.In closing Axl I wish you luck on your career and thank you for the music I rock out to everyday. Dont ever worry about me cause Im not buying a GNR ticket unless slash is involved and the good Lord knows I wont be buying an album anytime soon.Signed... uzi your illusion
Other then the line about plastic surgery, Howard was totally complimentary. The lines he goes into about how Axl is kinda crazy and stubborn for sticking to his guns but admirable for not selling out, is the EXACT image Axl has been honing since the break up of the original line up. We are not dealing with a stupid guy here, the moves he's made have all been calculated for maximum effect. Even if A LOT of them end up hurting him or his reputation in the long run.And thanks to whoever uploaded those 2 YouTube clips. Mr_Sparkle
Howard was talking about Axl today. The gist of it was that Axl is probably crazy but that you have to admire him for not selling out. Eddie Trunk also called into Howard's show and talked to him about Axl and Guns. It was actually pretty cool. Howard defended Axl more then he bashed him. He also said that interviewing him is on his bucket list and that Baba Booey needs to make it happen. Gary said that he is working on it but didnt sound to confident. On his bucket list? He already interviewed him, did he forget?

Axl_morris
If axl went on howard, he'd be too straight to the point "whats ur beef with slash and why do u turn up late and what was the HOF all about"And im sure he'd ridicule him more. The interview would slag axl off while appreciating his company, belittling axl to make howard superior. He does this to all his guests.

Ive listened to Howard for years and Yes, Howard will go places Axl would not be comfortable going, It's what Howard does. He's one of, if not the best interviewer on the planet. I would love for Axl to sit down and go 90 minutes with Stern, but I doubt it would ever happen. Howard would ask about all the shit, the split up, why he remains using the name, how much he's worth, what girls he's banging, plastic surgery, I dont think it's Howard disrespecting...I think its Howard being Howard.. and Axl is fully aware of what Howard's world is about. Its most likely why Axl turns it down. Gary has been trying for over 6 months to make it happen and it hasnt happened. A 90 minute no holds barred interview with Stern would be pretty epic
The_Universal_Sigh
Lol at the thought Axl would/could go on Howard Stern. Howard would ask him real questions, edgy questions. Axl would not be in 100% control so there's a 100% chance that will never happen. I'm still blown away he went to the MTV awards and that was 6 years ago. Axl_morris
To be honest, fuck all the interviews. I wish Axl came back to the forum, and answered fan questions like he done before. I mean, lets be honest, he must read the forums. He's single (we think) lives alone, or even if he doesn't what does he do between tours/writing ect? When he's not out partying with woman he must sit down like the rest of us and read about GNR online, since the thousands of people are talking about him. I mean, I would. ... Or maybe he just watches a lot of TV.
