Nosaj Thing
NO FUCKIN' WAY.The original line-up were a gang of brothers. The current line-up are co-workers of an entity called Gn'R (even if they've developed some kind of friendship through the years).

Chewbacca
No and to be honest I highly doubt that the original line up had that brother bond.
Towelie
It makes me laugh how some of you look at original Guns through such rose-tinted glasses (no pun intended). They weren't the fucking Waltons! Both Axl and Duff have commented in the past about how any comradery that existed between them was short lived and built on a relationship of convenience. batman007
If the original lineup were so tight as brothers they would still be together. Or the stupid reunion theory would happen.
shotgunblues1978
Ah yes, the old "they were a fucking gang, dude" line about the old bandHere's the reality: Axl and Izzy were close friends from childhood, as were Slash and Steven. Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven bonded to different degrees over some combination of music and drug/alcohol use. It's pretty clear that from early on there were major rifts and varying factions within the band, and it started to implode within several years. Within 3 years of their debut album, Steven had gotten the heave ho and Axl was completely isolated from the rest of the band as he was the only one who was not a full blown alcoholic or junkie. When Izzy sobered up he felt the same isolation from everyone and left shortly thereafter.Seems pretty clear that collectively they never got along that well and that explains why things blew up so quickly. wasted
There classic line up really didnt act like brothers when it came down to it. Slash threw Steven under the bus. They could have shut it down there. Same when Izzy left. Pretty much time to call it quits or get everyone back together. The rest quit over petty contracts. I see the new line ups as more magnanimous, its not a blood brothers romantic thing, but theres more respect. If it was a band of brothers they would be a reunion. Or at least a high five at an awards show.
alfierose
The only time I get the impression they had the brothers thing going on was during some of their early gigs when they were working out the AFD songs live and pushing to get to the top of the Billing at clubs and also the trip to Seattle that nearly killed them off. Other than that it became a bit every man for himself.
