It's not bad, not great, just 'meh' really. For a film that features an ogre and a demon-bird-ninja man and a shapeshifting witch it's quite dull and overly serious. Also that guy covered in tattoos? There has been a handful of Chusingura films before including a war-time (1941) propaganda piece made by Kenji Mizoguchi, a 1960s version starring Toshiro Mifune and a 1994 version by Ichikawa. This is discluding a multitude of television versions and Manga.After doing some research, I have just seen there is a yank in this!! I never knew a Yank was one of the Shi-ju-shichi-shi!!
