The best lines in a Guns N' Roses song

Recommended Posts

This at the beginning of Civil War:

HAHAHAAHA OMG! It's so funny to see it on a video. I never had! Thanks for posting!

For some reason, when it gets to that part, its feels like its dubbed or something.... Man has a weird helium voice and an accent.... I'm not American, sorry!! I feel strange when hearing this :P

That tides and oceans thing from OMG's outro.

oh my god has some of axl's best lyrics.

i like the outro of rocket queen, the outro of coma, the outro of street of dreams ("what this means" onward), and many others. all depends on my mood. sometimes you can't beat a straight-up immature rock lyric like It's So Easy but other times Estranged hits me.

"Just an urchin livin' under the street..."

That whole first verse of PC is great. I just love the way he sings it - the cadence of it, and Urchin is a great word. It's almost like a rap, like something Busta Ryhmes might come up with.

In my head, the original idea probably started out as something simpler like "bum on the street", but to make it more descriptive and drive it home, he turned 'bum' into 'urchin', and on the street, to fucking under the street.

Sometimes I wanna kill

Sometimes I wanna die

Sometimes I wanna destroy

Sometimes I wanna cry

Sometimes I could get even

Sometimes I could give up

Sometimes I could give

Sometimes I never give a fuck

I think a lot of people can relate to that

This

But right now

While you're breakin' down my back n'

I been rackin' out my brain

It don't matter how we make it

'Cause it always ends the same

You can push it for more mileage

But your flaps are wearin' thin

And I could sleep on it 'til mornin'

But this nightmare never ends

Don't forget to call my lawyers

With ridiculous demands

An you can take the pity so far

But it's more than I can stand

'Cause this couchtrip's gettin' older

Tell me how long has it been

'Cause five years is forever

And you haven't grown up yet

Axl is a great lyricist. I would have to go with all of Locomotive, but this most of all:

Affection is a blessing
Can you find it in your sordid heart
I tried to keep this thing together
But the tremor tore my pad apart
Yeah I know it's hard to face
When all we've worked for's gone to waste
But you're such a stupid woman
And I'm such a stupid man
And love like time's got its own plans

Words that in 91 seemed cool enough, now seem eerily prophetic.

And I wish that I could help you

With what you hope to find

But I'm still out here waiting

Watching reruns of my life

I have a lot but some long time favs are:

"and when you're in need of someone, my heart won't deny you"

"now that you've been broken down

got your head out of the clouds

you're back down on the ground

and you don't talk so loud and you

don't walk so proud anymore

and what for"

"but that's not stardust on my feet

it leaves a taste that's bittersweet

that's called the blues"

outro of Rocket Queen

I bet you think I'm doing this all for my health
I should've looked again then at somebody else
Feeling like I've done way more than wrong
Feeling like I'm living inside of this song

Feeling like I'm just too tired to care
Feeling like I've done more than my share
Could've been the way that I carried on
Like a broken record for so long and I do, oh oh
