The problem with Slash on rhythm is nothing more than his tone. His playing itself is fine, his tone just doesn't work for rhythm at all.

How does it not?

It's not just his lead tone. It's his lead guitar thinking that leads to his shit rhythm playing which was my point: you can't fake that thought process, that style of playing, and you can hear it when it's not really someone who knows what rhythm playing is all about. (not being in the center of it 100% of the time for starters)
