Press statement on canceled Portland show

Kaneda is right. Imagine you living in portland maine and being all stoked just to have the show canceled. It was canceled because of lack of ticket sales, which wouldn't be a problem if there was a CD. I just hope they don't cancel Portland, OR or i will be flaming pissed myself.

Also, maybe the reason GNR does so good abroad is because Europe has better taste. Shoot, i can't even listen to the radio here because the music sucks so bad right now.

We need Chinese Democracy, and I am not saying that just because i am a GNR fan but because we need some good music again.

I'm not blaming anyone. I just said that years ago, I used to follow them around and now I won't buy a ticket unless they are in my neighborhood.

Agreed.

People who incur a bunch of travel costs and rearrange their schedule for this guy are insane.

Dude - she just said he wasn't blaming anyone?

It was more of a general statement.

I had the guy not show up on me 15 minutes from my house. I was pissed, sure. But I got my money back and we move on.

But after having that happen to me, I look at people who make travel reservations, buy plane tickets and such to be completely out of their minds. And frankly, given Axl's track record, I can't pity them.

Will people stop stating that European tour cemented this a successful tour! FUCK THAT! Axl played at fucking rock festivals for the most part, people were not just there to see him. Also, people in Europe are not who he needs to win over, it's here in the US that Axl needs to prove himself. And he's failing once again.

What so you just render us Europeans void? Fuck you man. Maybe Guns like playing in Europe because we give them a chance? Every single review of the US tour that has been published so far has been exceptionally positive so what the bloody hell are you moaning about?

They cancel a single show and that means Guns N' Roses are reaching an end? You don't really have a job do you? No one can work in Public Relations and still be that fuckin' stupid

This whole 'Chinese Democracy' thing is about to take off and I gaurentee I am right.

This is media: And it´s hard to deal with it, but they rule the world

unfortunately, you're right

I just think that as fans we have the privilege to question the validity of their statements and explanations. It doesn't mean they owe us anything, but we can still question the facts. :)

Ummm. No you can't. See the countless posts bashing anyone that does so.

Get your head outta Kaneda's ass, jerky. We bash morons like you and Kanedouche because you add nothing of value to the dialogue. Whereas intellectual, and elequent posts like P4A's questioning the validity of the explanation are met with dual respect for an open discussion. OK, now feel free to shove your dome back into Kanedouche's sphincter.

Thank you for validating my point. Your contirbution is much appreciated.

Hey, back off! He called me intellectual and eloquent. His contribution IS much appreciated! :xmasssanta:

Funny how Europe accepts washed up artists from the US with open arms...it proves nothing. Europe is always second fiddle to the US...

Thank you for proving that you're an ignorant idiot with your head to far up your own arse.

Stop giving your fellow Americans such a bad name with statements like this.

Amen! Thank you, Ron! Getting tired of idiots like Kaneda and Da Illest saying moronic things like that. Truth is that the EU and US are very similar now; both are better than the other in certain areas, but overall they're quite equal. :)

Amen to that, my EU and US friends. Both Europe and the United States brought forth some amazing music artists over the years. I'm proud to be an European, and I'm proud that I had the opportunity to study in the US for 1 semester. Both are great continents with great cultures. For a stupid dickless horse-blowing bed-pisser like Kaneda to use cultural difference between forum members for the sole purpose of causing fans from different continents to diss eachother, I think the motherfucker should be banned!!!

So there you have it Madison, a good reason to ban the bitch. I have nothing against constructive criticism, although Kaneda is pushing my limits a lot. However, saying that "Europe accepts washed up artists from the US with open arms...it proves nothing. Europe is always second fiddle to the US." is based on nothing. Everybody can see the purpose of this statement, as to many other statements of Kaneda. Provoce people as much as you can, untill they get really pissed and start fighting with eachother. It's kind of sick that Ms. Kaneda get's a bonner out of this, and spanks his minni-monkey on behind his PC watching us GNR fans fight eachother verbally caused by his post.

Give him the attention he needs: Shoot the bastard!!!

You don't pity me? :P

You're right - having a no show that is in my neighborhood, is ok. Not a big deal. In 2002, I had a babysitter for 24 hrs, hotel, gas, time off work...

In any case, no matter what the reason is or where the fault is, the track record for GNR tells me to not chance that again.

It is our opinion that they are going out of their way to target and single out Guns N' Roses and the band's loyal fans.

last week we weren't real fans

now we're loyal fans?

i wish gnr would take the blame when they mess up like real men should

the lame excuses are getting old

I am proud to be European? What the fuck does that mean? Europe isnt a fucking country you fool. I am British, and proud of my tradition and heritage. I deserve the right to that just as anybody from any country does. But there are parts of Europe I wouldnt piss on if it wasnt on fire. Stop collectively tagging us, we each have our own views and cultures. America cannot be compared to Europe!

I had finally gotten my chance, after a 19 year wait,to see GnR live in concert. Pulled out my Appetite tshirt from high school, got myself all pumped...then 2 hours before the show is to begin,he cancels. What happened in Portland Axl? You bummed because the show didn't sell out in such a hick state as Maine? awww no it's the Fire Marshalls fault. Blame them because your poor, pathetic ego took a shot. I tried to ignore all the crap that he's done in his career...leaving shows early, cancelling altogether because of his temper tantrums..not to mention the botched plastic surgery and god awful cornrolls. I thought..no...after all these years...I'll get my chance to see my favorite band ever, the band I partied to endlessly in high school and beyond. It's funny...Motley Crue had lots of pyrotechnics and was able to play in Portland. Even if they had to downplay the effects I highly doubt they would have cancelled the whole damn show and disappoint those that had spent money and time to get there. Those antics were "cute" and "tolerable" back when GnR was on top. Now those antics make GnR look ignorant and disrespectful. It's not about the fans. It's about his ego. Well Mr. Rose, you're a bit too old and plastic now to be cute and tolerable. Time to up your dosage of Prozac and check into reality. You lost 4 fans here, and probably many more in those that held tickets to your show last night. No wonder you've been washed up for the past 10 years.

Good luck and may karma bite your uppity ass...your "fans" will rejoice in that day.

In the real world, Axl cancelled a show because he couldn't sell enough tickets and blamed it on someone else. I'd say the internet is a nicer place than the real world for the 3000 or so fans that he screwed over, in addition to the several thousand other fans over the decades.

so what are we supposed to hate Axl now....no way,I'll still be a fan even if he never releases the album

Varv Vikernes has still a big cult following of metalheads seven after he turned into a sort-of-a-neonazi and said that he despises the capitalist world and the rock/metal music scene brainlessnes

Kaneda we get it you hate Axl and the new-GNR,but just because that is the point of EVERY FRIKIN post you make here, dosen't mean that we are going to hate it alongside with you.....you should go and start a MyIhateaxlandnewGnrforum.com

Is history repeating itself or what? I wouldn't even be surprised if Friday's night show at MSG isn't the last concert these guys play (the same way it was in 2002). There's just no interest for this glorified cover band until they drop and album and with the poor ticket sales, Axl cancelling shows, the backlash that will result, Axl's fragile ego will want to "quit" once again.

You know I keep trying to figure out why this half-assed tour/no promotion/cryptic releases/blame everyone situation continues to unfold. I think it's quite obvious: Axl Rose has pissed off everyone that ever cared about him or was willing to work with him to succeed, and he's surrounded himself with "Yes" men that don't know what the fuck they are doing. I think it's sort of obvious that Axl needs that counter weight to succeed, but he doesn't have it anymore. To say Merk is the biggest pointless piece of shit manager ever is an understatement.

I work in Public Relations, and that GNR press release that went out yesterday was the worst press release I've ever read. They sound like a bunch of babies blaming everyone but themselves. Poor baby Axl can't light off his fireworks so the show is off? Get the fuck out of here.

Since the beginning of this tour, the end was eminent. When you tour with no album, tour to promote an album that doesn't exist and use hired guns to play music others made famous, and top it all off with hitting the stage at midnight, Axl Rose has produced the worst comeback of his career. At least in 2002 we had Buckethead to wow us...this shit now just sucks.

No one cares if you work in public relations. The band was completely justified in putting out a press release. What, because you don't like the reaon they gave, it's the worst press release you've ever read? I seriously question your ability to work in your stated field.

Axl cancelled one show, not SHOWS. You're running around like chicken little saying the sky is falling, sounding like an absolute bitch. MSG is sold out, and then the tour moves into Canada, where most shows are sold out or almost sold out.

This tour has also gotten 100% positive reviews in the mainstream press, *far* better than in 2002.

Fuck you, little cunt boy. You aint even seen gnr live have you, how can you comment on a band you have never seen for yourself. This time round is very different. A VERY VERY SUCESSFUL euro tour, not one show cancelled for any reason, 4 amazing shows in nyc, some great shows in vegas and san fran, and a good start to the american tour. So out of about 40 + shows theres one thats a problem. Big fuckin wow. They will play tomorrow night then msg friday. The album will be released in the near future. Soon is the word.

The only words suitable for you start with f and end in f. You are a parasite that has no intrest in success for the band, you would love them to fail. What sort of a fan are you???? This is a fan forum if you hadnt noticed, if i ran this site, your ip would be logged and you would be told to fuck right off you cunt.

Yes Kaneda, history is repeating itself.... with your negative, self promoting posts.

I went to see the band three times on the UK leg of the tour. Not at festivals, at venues that were full of people, young and old wanting to see GnR. The European tour was not a failure and if the band return next year I hope I shall see more than 3 shows. I wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on them if they weren't worth going to see. The CD will drop, the tour will continue, so shut the fuck up. I really don't know why you come onto this forum if you feel like you do.

I guess there was a good basketball game on tonite :) . He better be there for the Detroit show.

He'll go to the game when he hits Detroit....

I can see the press release coming...

"GNR has cancelled there show in Detroit because Rasheed Wallace has decided to jump into the stands and fight Axl. Rasheed Wallace is to blame. The Detroit Pistons and the NBA are out to single out GNR."

Real story: Axl wanted to catch a basketball game and configured the idea that Rasheed Wallace downloaded the rare version of "It tastes good, don't it?". Axl then attacked Rasheed Wallace and the tour is cancelled
