I think this is a little treasure for we, the fans. Don't know if you seen this but this is a documentary about the Robert John's book "The Photographic History Of GN'R" made in 1993. Lots of rare footages, all from 1993, sadly the year less documented from the UY Tour. It also shows lots of footages and interviews with the band, all from 1993, including with Izzy who was back for a few shows and accepted to appear in this doc. Enjoy!

the rehearsal with izzy singing nightrain...

i just wish i could have the full recording of that rehearsal!

(and the full recording of every GNR rehearsal, actually)

FUCKING TERRIFIC

My thoughts watching this are 1. Izzy is the coolest dude on the planet 2. Duff has done a 180, totally healthy now compared to bloated near deaths door back then 3. They should bring back Get in the Ring with updated lyrics for the live show. Works better live than on record. 4. Thank GOD they are back!!!

Enema bag?

There's a scene where Axl sits next to Robert John and suddenly asks "Where's my enema bag?"

I don't know what that's about :shrugs: Maybe pumping water up his ass was part of the shit Yoda told him to do for his health or whatever. Or maybe he was just severely constipated :facepalm:

You should ask about this in the women's thread, maybe someone there might know more about it.

@killuridols? @Lumikki @stella @MillionsOfSpiders @nonok maybe? :rofl-lol:

By the way, it seems to me that all of the song clips sound kind of "remastered", probably they slapped a compressor, eq or even some more reverb on the tracks while editing the video. Just listen to that massive floor tom rumbling and reverb on the snare in the Double Talkin' Jive clip at 20:07, sounds fuckin' HUGE! Definitely not the same as on the album.

EDIT: I just re-listened to it w/ good headphones, they also put audience sound on it :D Just like on LLAS :D

lol I have no idea... must be a joke?

:P

BTW I have that book too. It's amazing. I bought it in the 90s, I guess it was a bit expensive but still affordable. Had no idea now it costs that much.

Yeah I agree with @killuridols, this sounds like Axl's type of humor. His jokes are so vague and seriously worded that you wonder if he's even kidding.

Anyway, yeah this documentary is a gem. I wish they brought out something from the UYI period from the  The Vault, they're back together so there shouldn't be any problems. We'll take anything, we're desperate. :shrugs:

Hey thanks for sharing, I'd never seen that and it really cool.

Me and a buddy bought that book back in the day and cut out all the pictures and picked the ones we each wanted and put the photo's all over our bedrooms. Great shots in that book!

I think right before he said he has a show to do and maybe he was poking fun at it being like a porno shoot or something hence, the "enema bag" .....idk sounds dumb but thats just my theory. Cool documentary anyway

What are you trying to say here? That we're the experts when it comes to Axl's ass? Or what goes up there?

(Okay, who am I kidding, of course we're the experts on that )

Seriously though, I got nothing. Maybe it was just a joke, some weird inside joke they might have. Although the Yoda idea wouldn't even shock me either. Unnecessary enemas for supposed health benefits fit right in with herbal wrap exorcisms.

I cracked up when I saw I was tagged/called to participate in a thread related to Axl's colon :rofl-lol:

I know I've made more than public my passion for his massive bottoms but I'm not sure that includes his intestines and their functioning

When I searched for it on Amazon the cheapest copies were at least £50

Mate, check Amazon again. You can find cheap issues in good condition on a regular basis. The photo book which is really expensive is the George Chin one, at least this was the case a few years back.

Edit:

... the true treasure is the footage Robert John released a few years ago. This was various 1-3 minute cuts from the UYI tour. I think this are most of them in one edit:

Its this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Guns-Roses-Pictures-George-Chin/dp/0711941823

The book was released in 1994 and features the period from 1987 (London) to 1991 (UYI Tour). It is awesome and a must have if you love the 1991 first tour leg as much as I do.

George Chin was one of the very few official photographs beside Robert John.
