To me Ashba is everything that Guns N Fucking Roses wasn't.

The guy's a poser, image over ability and really generic.

I'm not a 14 year old girl, so I guess I don't get him.

Remember how GNr used to rip the shit out of Poison, Great White, Bon Jovi etc?

I don't get all this hate towards DJ. Many people don't like him because the TIL solo ain't the same as Robin's in studio or because he doesn't do the whole 9 yards on SCOM. Anyway if we look back into his own catalogue, I think there's a lot of hope as regards good music in the future. His solo algum (Addicted to Friction) has some very good moments, great riffs and great solos. The first Beautiful Creatures album is also very good and his guitar solos are very good as well. Even though many people don't dig Sixx AM, there are some great material there. For all I heard so far (people should also look for Beuatiful Creatures live on youtube, good shit!) DJ's solo stuff and his other bands are pretty much far better than anything Slash has done since he LEFT Guns. Not to mention that DJ's stuff out of Guns is much more advanced and creative than anything Slash has done - AND still... it's very rock n' roll.

Besides, I trust Axl. When Steven was out I was dead inside (I'm a drummer). When Matt kicked ass in Rio II I was like... yeah, ok, it's for the best! And apart from Gilby (but it was only as a live act) everybody who got inside this band are amazing talents and replaced the former ones properly to say the least. I remember how sad I was when Slash was out and I also remember how happy I was in Rio III watching Bucket + Ronin + Paul. So I guess it's just a matter of letting time pass and see what happens on a new album, doesn't matter how long it takes.

Why I don't like Ashba.

I agree, but once Duff or Slash was in everyone would be looking straight at Pitman, Frank, Ron etc and thinking or yelling get the fuck off /bring back so and so-honestly.

If I saw GNR was Slash, Duff, Ron, Dizzy, Pitman, Fortus and Frank I know I would be like "get Pitman,Fortus, Ron and Frank off the fucking stage/bring xyz back"...

Let's go with two guitarplayers. Richard and Ron are capable of doing that.

No go. We need someone to do the Hogan hand to the ear thing and bang on the guitar with a drum stick during Madagascar. It's not a Gn'R show without those crucial elements.

I hear Hogan himself is a free agent atm. Why not get the real thing BROTHER?!

I was ok with Gilby, and whomever is playing drums doesn't matter that much to me. So just having Slash and Duff back is good enough for me, especially if Izzy does guest spots. I'm not going to cry for Sorum or Adler. Either Fortus or DJ is capable of playing the Izzy role, and let BBF do the crazy shredding. But IDK if Slash would be ok with having another bad ass guitar player in the band?

Well. Do you trust Axl? Do you believe he wouldn't see it coming if you're right about everything you're saying?

Hell no.

Yes, I do believe that. In fact I believe it happened already. I'm a fan of Axl's work. But that doesn't mean I feel that everything he does is the right thing. I don't blindly agree with him. He's a human being and he's very capable of making mistakes. DJ Ashba is one of them. And it's not that hard to think of some others. Edited by username

Ashba is a f@g

I'd usually just hide these kinds of posts but I want to make kind of a public example of it for a moment: This is exactly the kind of thing we aren't going to allow here, and never have allowed.

You can absolutely voice your disdain for DJ, but do so maturely and in a civilized manner. Don't use gay slurs or petty insults, it diminishes your own argument and there will be repercussions.

I hate moderating people but there's often a point where we have to reinforce common civility which, to be honest, is kind of disappointing, but whatever.

Seems I should have read into the thread more as I just hid a number of posts with this quote, but oh well

Well said, ER.

Two 37-year old backround dancers. Fake tits, pumped lips, dyed hair. Mostly they just stand there, barely dancing in lazy, forced motions. Occasionally they do awkward looking hard core anal with dildos. This with poorly acted enthuasism and fake moans. Looking at them go, you realize the act is there to turn you on. Yet, it is so insincere, depraved, misplaced and forced that it just...no.

ie, it would 'feel' the same as watching DJ does, while sounding marginally more sincere. Techinically not replacement as much as an improvement. 1 whore<2 whores. Math. I should be the manager of GNR tbh.

There is no need for three guitarists.
