Beautiful Disease is a completely different fish, that one is my most favourite solo album of any Guns' (ex-)member, probably together with Bumble's Abnormal. I remember it being really good but isn’t that the one that never officially got released? I’m sure I still have it somewhere on an old hard drive. Where on earth would I get it now? zombux
Just now, megaguns1982 said: I remember it being really good but isn’t that the one that never officially got released? I’m sure I still have it somewhere on an old hard drive. Where on earth would I get it now? exactly, it wasn't released officially and is only spread as a bootleg copy of the few promo discs that managed to get out. anyway, the whole thing has more complicated background. everyone remembers the first solo album Believe in Me - it was a cool thing, but from the future perspective it was kind of one-off, with a short touring in support in 1993-4. later Duff struggled with his health and started again from zero. he had at least one older song done, called Seattle Head, written in early 90's. he started to jam with various bands, like Billy Idol, and gradually Neurotic Outsiders were born. that was the first thing. they recorded the first version of Seattle Head, available at some versions of Jerk single as b-side, and also at japanese EP called Angelina. later when NO disbanded (with a few later comeback shows), Duff started the Beautiful Disease era, recording the album and recruiting a support band for a tour - initally called The Gentlemen, later renamed Loaded. they managed to release a live album called Episode 1999: Live. in the meantime, the merger between recording labels resulted in shelving the Beautiful Disease album. interestingly, even before the BD era kind of "started", Duff reactivated his old band called 10 Minute Warning and on the album there can be found a track called Mezz. it's an early version, not sung by Duff but by the 10MW vocalist, with alternate lyrics. a year later, Duff decided to reactivate Loaded and re-recorded much of the BD stuff again, this time it got released as album called Dark Days. so here we go, there's a list of stuff related to BD: 1. Seattle Head (by Neurotic Outsiders, released 1996 at Jerk single or 1997 at Angelina EP) 2. Mezz (by 10 Minute Warning, released 1998 at self-titled album) 3. Beautiful Disease (by Duff McKagan, unreleased) 4. Episode 1999: Live (by Loaded, released 1999) 5. Dark Days (by Loaded, released 2001, later in 2008 it was reissued with bonus disc - live from Tokyo 2001) I'll drop you a PM with something.
