He was coughing, spitting and blowing his nose constantly at the Dublin show on Tuesday.
To be fair he was doing the same at Warsaw last Monday, not new.

is it possible to go to victoria station from the stadium before 23:30?
Yeah but I’d get a move on, especially if there’s big crowds at the main stations.

This is the first UK GnR gig in years I haven’t gotten tickets for. Was tempted earlier in the week but decided against it. And have to say at least for the moment I’m ok with that. Doesn’t seem like I am missing too much and sound is apparently poor.
I’m sure they’ll now play Atlas…3 minutes ago, allwaystired said:Did they do Slither? SetlistFM keeps changing.....
Same. First since 2002. Kind of glad actually, based on tonight.
Yeah ironically same for me, but saw them in Warsaw and Dublin in the last 10 days and incredibly glad I did so! Would’ve gone tonight if I could’ve gotten a really cheap ticket but didn’t manage. If they play TWAT I will lose my mind

Who needs that many honestly? 3 maybe 4 is enough.
Haha yeah it’s a good point, to be fair this is over 16 years so averaging slightly over one a year!

Ok back from my GN'R experience #17 and here are my thoughts:
- Great venue, very much a festival feel and brilliant atmosphere helped by the great weather.
- Axl and band sounded great again, glad that the sound was infinitely better than in Warsaw last week with the roof of the stadium closed.
- This time I stood stage right, so Richard's side. Back in the CD-era I always thought he was incredibly underrated and this proved it once again, absolutely sublime performance complimenting Slash's playing and adding in his own feel whilst staying true to the source material for both classic era and CD-era Guns.
- Again Axl looked like he was having a great time and I loved the fact they keep changing up the set (even if it did mean a reduction, with Maddy and SoD going), was great that I could see him between songs changing the channel on his mic and announcing to the band what he wanted to play next (I think Better was 4th in the set?) and you could see all the guys changing their equipment. Love the relative spontaneity.
- Bit of a pain in the arse getting home from the venue, a 45 min bus from centre of Dublin, but still a beautiful day and great experience.
- Considering picking up a last minute ticket for the London show tomorrow, not too far away from home that one
- Genuinely reflecting a lot on this as when this tour was originally announced for 2020 I really didn't care but I've been very pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it (I mean I knew I would, but it felt more of an obligation than excitement!)

Anyone planning on getting lithos? I missed out on the Warsaw show as they were sold out outside early and I didn't want to sacrifice any of the gig by carrying one around. Same plan for Marlay Park, may try at the end...

Ooft - hot take! I thought Fortus knocked it out the park….I guess it’s what makes music so entertaining. You get polarising opinions. 🤣
Richard absolutely nailed it.

Going to write down a few takeaways from my GNR experience #16:
- Genuinely the most motivated Axl I’ve seen in years.
- Incredible set list, for the most part I genuinely didn’t know what was next.
- Only downside was that I was maybe 10 deep from the front barricade and the sound was truly horrific - wasn’t just me that thought this right? Was it any good further back? Made a lot of the detail in the songs v hard to hear.

I’ve got a GAEE ticket - is this a golden circle one or just being able to be let in earlier than everyone else?

i think there is meant to be a roof
9 hours ago, swirkh said:Metallica show in Denver 2017 was interrupted midway through their set due to thunderstorm. Fans were asked to take shelter. Some time passed, then the band came back and finished the show. The stadium in Warsaw has a roof though, so the show should go on even during thunderstorm.
Perfect, thanks guys.
See everyone tonight!
-
Genuine question from my last point - any chance of a cancellation due to the thunderstorms? They’re scheduled for the entire gate, from doors open to GNR closing. Any similar examples?
-
Holy shit I didn’t realise there was a roof! I have seen the forecast is for thunderstorms but I didn’t pack anything close to waterproof

I believe the Street of Dreams' solo is shared by Slash and Richard (the second half, played almost note for note from Robin's original).
Sound quality wasn’t great but damn that was faithful to Robin’s solo! Glad to see Richard respecting it.

So how to get back to the city? Being lucky and catch the train or bus back to the city, otherwise taxi or uber?
If you’re incredibly lucky you can get a train or manage to get a taxi - we genuinely walked for maybe 2.5 hours back to the city because there were no other options.

You can also just walk back to the city, right? Or is it too far?
You really wouldn’t want to walk - was about 5 miles or so from what I remember.

3 hours ago, Underhardy said:Pretty entertaining read. Yeah, the countless stories about groupies and sex got a bit much, but it’s his raw truth and remembrance. Under all the coke, alcohol, etc I would be surprised if he actually did remember all those details. But he comes across very genuine, honest and pretty accountable of most of the situations.
but among all else, this book humanizes the Gunners more than ever. For better and worse. Duff and Axls panic attacks, slash not being able to record in front of others, and more. I’d recommend this to any GNR fan
Welcome to the forum, Matt!

I predume Atlas Shrugged is an Ayn Rand reference… Axl is not a fan of her is he? That’d be a disappointment..
Any clue in the lyrics?
From what I recall Axl mentioned in the chats the only similarities between the book and the song was the literal concept of not having shoulders wide enough, metaphorically in the case of the song.

Agree with the final top 4 being Better, TWAT, Maddy and Prozzy.
I absolutely adore Madagascar but the other two are A+ songs so have to keep them in.

Quite amazed how many people are voting Prostitute. If you’d have asked me how I thought this would end before it started I definitely would’ve predicted Prostitute in top 3.

Genuinely I don’t think it being staged is too farfetched…
Remember the ‘he hit our mother’ video? I’m sure at the time Axl on stage alluded to it (not completely sure if he was joking ) and then the photo/info on Hard Skool right before it actually came out… I think what I’m saying is that I’m a believer

Damn really sounds like these shows have been poor. The first London (home) shows I’ve missed since 2006! So sorry for everyone attending not getting the real deal.
