  1. Slash and Duff like being productive... so even this we don't know. But we are probably getting a reworked version of Perhaps with a bigger Slash solo on it.
  2. Slash and Axl listening to mixes in a studio... interesting. Just when I gave up thinking about new songs again this shows up
  3. Not gonna happen. It should have happened already, but didn't.
  4. Yeah... I like the person Bumblefoot is, but his guitar playing - while technically very good - is not necessarily my taste. What makes Buckethead exceptional is his ability to play very technical stuff in an emotional way... if that makes any sense. Bumblefoot did some nice stuff as well... his live Don't Cry instrumental was lovely. I really don't want to be negative about him. But they shouldn't have replaced the original stuff. Should have kept Brian May on it as well.
  5. Still no "Perhaps" I did watch those live streams and enjoyed them though. Seems like a great show.
  6. It has happened before... them rehearsing songs or putting them on the setlist unfortunately doesn't mean much. We might get something new, but it could be many months or even years before it actually happens. In my fantasy world they tease us with rehearsing leaks we already know and then actually play something else entirely that nobody has heard yet. But that's my fantasy and has little to do with reality
  7. Velvet Revolver's Contraband is one of my favorite albums of all time. So there's that. Slash and Duff did a great job on that one. It was popular for a reason.
  8. Bumblefoot and Tommy Stinson were great, but had their issues and left the band. Ashba basically played Slash's stuff and was very similar to him. When you look at the Chinese era and who had the most influence on the sound, it's probably Buckethead. For all his greatness, he is a bit of a complex person to work with So I'm not sure if it's really that Axl "sold out". Duff basically reunited Slash and Axl again... after the NuGuns band started to fall apart (Duff filling in for Tommy who still drinks a lot, problems with Bumblefoot after car accident). The question now is, if Slash and Duff want to change the sound "back" or are willing to work on a more modern sound. I'm fine either way... because I like the old stuff a lot as well.
  9. It's funny people are already arguing here... believers vs non believers I really want to believe, but fear nothing's going to happen. We'll see. I just hope Perhaps will be released... a whole new album is a bit of a stretch I guess.
  10. Well, there is a certain phone recording... it's short and you hear people talking all the time, but in the background there's something that might be The General if I recall correctly. My memory might be wrong though .. all this stuff is very long ago lol.
  11. What worries me is that Marco Beltrami said (a long time ago) that Seven was a better song than The General. So even if there is a chance The General might finally be released, I'm not getting my hopes up too much. What if I don't even like the song? I'm excited about Perhaps though. I already know the song has potential and hope they actually improved it (instead of butchering it). The soundcheck sounds promising.
  12. Only if it's a really great song. I mean, just think about all these years speculating and when they finally release it, it turns out to be utter shit? The horror lol.
  13. Perhaps... The soundcheck sounds interesting. I hope they do play and release it. And that Slash (or Fortus) does a great job on it... the guitar work in that song is quite complex. And maybe, just maybe... less "hey hey"
  14. It's nice to see them playing some classic GNR tunes with Axl singing in his natural voice. That's the good part. Love Slash's playing on them as well. But... no "new" songs. Nothing. If they start playing more classic tunes this tour will become interesting nonetheless. I might even change my mind and buy some tickets (I didn't want to anymore).
  15. This topic is getting more depressing everytime I open it lol. COVID made no difference. Some artists actually released more new songs during the pandemic because they were stuck in their home studios and started writing. Still hoping something happens with this new tour... but if it doesn't, well... this is getting pointless.
  16. The concert in my country is not selling so well... people write on Facebook they'd rather go see Iron Maiden or Metallica. Things are going down hill fast. Most complain Axl can't sing anymore.
  17. Being a perfectionist is a handicap when you're trying to be creative. Music is art, emotion, it's something you feel that needs to come out. Not something you should overthink. And I'll say it again, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 is very honest about this: when he was young he had all these heavy emotions and the songs basically wrote themselves... but as he got older and more relaxed, the creativity died with it. My feeling is that Axl is going through the same thing. He looks too happy and relaxed He is not the young angry Axl anymore. What is he going to write about? 20 years ago was a different situation though... So I'm still hoping there's some stuff "in the vault" the current lineup feels is worthy of a proper release. And maybe he's just happy with how things are right now and doesn't want to change anything. My boss at work is the same age as Axl and is like that. Doesn't want to grow the company, just wants to keep it stable... secure. And he's enjoying life instead of working all the time. These guys are getting older...
  18. At least other bands still release new music. Listening to Them Dirty Roses and Goodbye June lately. I guess the vocalist of Goodbye June is my surrogate Axl for now "So sick and tired I'm so sick and tired Yeah, I'm so sick and tired Always trying and ending up with nothing"
  19. Pass You By has grown on me. I keep listening to it. It has a calming / soothing vibe to it, while I'm working and stressed lol.
  20. If you have great material, you won't be sitting on it. Axl, Duff and Slash are able to write a great song together... but for some reason they don't seem to get in one room to actually do that. Chinese leftovers are actually a problem. They should start from scratch.
  21. It needs a big ending with a screaming Axl and a nice Slash solo. But yeah, it's fine. Better than that other song. Apparently Duff knows how to release music I like "It can't come too soon" the most I think. I'm really happy Duff is releasing new stuff and still writing music though. At this point I'd rather have new Duff and Slash solo music than no new music at all.
