But if the bullshit becomes too much for Slash as it did before, he's not adverse to walking out

I assume they have a contract. And I assume it is written in that contract that players cannot just walk away without having to pay a hefty fee. And I assume Slash is adverse to pay a fine for nothing. So those now announced shows should be good. What happens beyond is a different question though.

I have a terrible  feeling this whole thing is gonna fall apart atm

BS. Why should it fall apart? Axl, Slash and Duff have agreed to do it. They need a drummer and a second guitarist. Anyone can do that. Izzy and Steven supposedly being pissed is not gonna derail that.

No that isn't what I said at all... I just said Duff wasn't any more important than Izzy or Steven..  Learn to read.

So it should be called the "Big 2 + Duff" then. To put Duff on the same level as Izzy and Steven?? I think the term "Big 3" refers to the fact that a) they were the last men standing of the "original" line up and b) they now are the only ones of the original line up who return. I'm sure it would be the "Big 4" if Izzy would commit to a full term deal. but then again that distinction wouldn't have to be made, as we would almost have the full original line up then.

" Guns have only advertised the big three and you should only expect the big three. "

I hate that term... There is a big two, but Duff to me isn't any more important than Steven or Izzy.

Huh? So Izzy, one of the alleged main songwriters of the band, is on the same level as the cokehead drummer they sacked before the second album? Wow?

Regardless, anyone of the original line up is big in my book.

The whole Izzy on twitter thing kind of weirds me out a little. If that is really him then he seems like a total dork. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I have a fondness for dorks, but that is not the impression I had of him. Maybe that was why he shunned public awareness before? Didn't want it to get out that he was a complete dork and not cool at all?

Why does he have to be cool, just because he was a member of GNR? It could very well be that he is a dork.

Another fact someone hasnt mentioned in this thread is that the first Vegas show is on Izzys birthday. I find it HIGHLY unlikely that Izzy would not be involved in that show on the 8th, it's just too much of a coincidence the first time GNR are stepping on stage in a reformation like that in what, 20 years, on Izzys birthday, and Izzy is not there? What im thinking is Axl will at some point during the show just say his usual "im gonna bring out a friend of ours, who just so happens to have birthday today. happy birthday ..MR IZZLY STRADLIN!" or something like that. People will go NUTS especially if they dont expect him to be be there (as he himself has said on twitter). Maybe he does this to keep it a surprise appearance.

Why would he want to play a show, just because it's his birthday?? Why would he want to work on his birthday? Why would that make any difference?

I'd love to check to see if this alleged update was on his social media but the butthurt twat blocked me a long time ago.
Possibly the only person I have hated more than or at least equal to Ashba.  Completely up his own pompous, sub-triangle, sub tambourine, ass fluting, towel waving arse.  Arrogant tosser, overrated hack.  He is completely useless and the only thing he did was make the band more camp with his gay ass outfits and stupid fucking "hey look at me i'm a bendy keyboard playing rockstar!!!!" attitude.  I hope this is true.  I'd be almost as happy to see this dick wad out as I would Izzy in.  Good bastard riddance.

And again I'm out of likes, but that doesn't mean that I don't like your post. ;-)

The worst part was that interview with Freeload Pitman in which he said they don't have to release an album because it's not lucrative.

Whatever happened to artistic pursuits? The GnR machine is rolling around in cash; they should release new music without any major financial incentives. You know, like most musicians?

The one were he was lying in bed, grabbing that poor chick?

Absolutely. It's gonna mislead people and honestly as long as axl slash and duff see a need for pitman then pitman ain't going nowhere. I'm not saying I necessarily want him there again, if he announces tomorrow that he's out I'm sure we'll all get over it but I just don't expect it. He's not in the way of anything and he doesn't hurt the band, plus there's UYI material and they always had two keyboard players during that so, pitman may be just fine

And still he's not needed. They did fine without keyboards prior to UYI and they also did fine on the Skins and Bones tour, which only had Dizzy, if I remember correctly.

This is pretty much it. Del's opinion and treatment of Slash, is dependant on Axl's opinion and treatment of Slash. But then that is true for pretty much everyone around Axl.

It's nice to get some pics of Slash at the screening, but it's not like people were calling for him and Del to reunite. I don't get the fuss.

Okay. So I say, fuck Del James. He's a fake ass kisser. This picture is nothing to be happy about. And Slash got a big tolerance for bullshit or is really, really desperate for the cashgrab/reclaiming his legacy/being Guns N' Roses again.

As for the part where he said something like  "don't mention the people who were in the band for last 20yrs, this is a nostalgia tour", I think that was definitely a dig at Axl and management. He's obviously pissed that he spent 20yrs with Axl or whatever and now he's been relegated to a 'hired hand, don't speak unless spoken to first role'. Frustrated, and somewhat reasonably so! he was in the band for a long time, whether people like him or not. He should be able to speak his mind.

Reasonably? Why? How? For 20 years he was part of a nostalgic cash grab. Nostalgia he had no hand in creating. It wasn't a problem then. But now, when the rightful owners and creators of the nostalgia return, he's pissed, that it has finally dawned on him, that he's nothing more than a hired hand and hanger on, who's really not needed and easily replaceable, if someone insists on having a goofy looking clown on stage, who adds absolutely nothing?? That dude is not only visually a total clown.

If this really is izzy and not fake then I'm gutted he's not taking some part in Vegas. While it doesn't effect what will probably be the line up it just put a bit of doubt in a potential album.

I'm thinking that maybe izzy has got the same problem Ash Hudson had with constant questions about the reunion and has responded in his own way to try and cool the situation down and not being a knob about it like Ash did. If izzy honestly isn't taking part then why not say something like "I've no plans to play with GNR in April " instead of "not at this point "

Well. Maybe because that's the case right now. He doesn't have signed on to do anything and doesn't know wether he will (either change his mind or get what he's demanding).

  12. 8 hours ago, Subtle Signs said:

Maybe muzzle was the wrong way to put it. I'm hoping that GNR management didn't want the news of Izzy playing with GNR to leak so now they are asking him to deny involvement in the reunion. Just the same as it appears they've done to Adler.

I'm sorry that is bs. Lying to fans that he's not gonna be there. Probably deterring fans, who want to see him, from getting tickets, only to be there in the end?? What a fucked up thing that would be. The more honest way would be to simply not talk about the the shows at all.

9/10 pictures of Slash "in the old days" will have have him in that top hat. He didn't make the top hat famous after GnR. That top hat is iconic, most people believe it to look pretty cool, I'm sure there's some that think it's lame or gimmicky though. Limiting his performance? he usually head bangs and it falls off and that's that for the hat. Anyway... it's just a hat, who cares right ;)

This story came out in the team rock article (worth a read if you haven't already), hoping it's true but as they say more than a grain of salt may be necessary.

In the old days he didn't wear that damn hat for two hours straight whenever he hit the stage. It has become a bit of a parody.

  14. Well. Yes. You all are cry babies. You know that there is a reunion of sorts, that Axl, Slash and Duff are gonna be there and the first shows are in Vegas in 2 months. That's all you need to know right now. And all your bitching really makes you all look pathetic. As pathetic as all the very smart people who qustioned the reunion when Slash mentioned to a reporter that he's friends with Axl again, as if Slash would let that slip by accident. Everything is going the way it is supposed to go, despite of the bitching of some know it alls.

That's an interesting quote from Tom Petty, is he classed as a solo act though? I suppose a slight difference with a band like GNR or the Stones is that the money has to be split a few ways minus costs.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He's got a big band that needs to be paid and has been with him since decades. Kinda like the E-Street band.

I was just talking to someone today about music and GNR came up. He said he saw them in Chicago in December of 87 when they were opening for Alice Cooper. He said he went primarily to see Guns N Roses and they had a really short setlist and were getting a lot of boos... Who knows how accurate it is but interesting none-the-less considering Alice's comments about GNR opening for him.

Hmm. Although Alice Cooper is known for talking some creative licence with his stories, I don't think that's the case here. There is a bootleg of that Chicago gig. And really, there are no boos (at least caught on the recording). They played 9 songs, which makes sense for a support act.
