So my day on Saturday was probably the best ive ever experienced.

The afternoon before the show we were waiting at the Delano, to see Axl. While we waited for him, i met Beta Lebeis and chatted with her a little bit. Lovely person. After some time, my buddy subtile signs says, i should ask her if she can hook me up with tickets for saturdays show, since didnt have one for that night. so we go up to her again, we ask her if theres a chance we could see the show. What does Beta do? She writes and email to someone and puts our names on a list. Tells us to go to will call and collect the tickets. I was sceptical it would happen, i'm the kinda person who remains sceptical about awesome things until they happen.

so we went to will call, ask for tickets under our name. And when i see the lady coming back with an envelope i'm like, "holy fucking shit, it really worked". When we look inside, we see that Beta gave us fucking vip tickets. To total strangers she doesnt even know. I couldnt believe my luck and thought i was dreaming. So we had these really cool seats in a suite right behind the stage. Baz showed up at the suite at some point, so did some unbelievably hot groupiechicks.

After the show i went backstage for a bit, saw richard and thanked beta for giving me these tickets. Had a look at the aftershow for a bit and then i left. Inwas wondering wether i should ask if i can see axl, but i didnt wanna strain my luck. I will love beta for the rest of my life for doing it. She gave me a one in a lifetime experience which inwill cherish forever and that means the fucking world to me. Thank you.

Awesome. Wished she could have done the same for me, when I was standing outside the Troubadour, asking for a chance to get in. Worst GNR experience of my life.

It must be "Problem With Your Last Flight Day" or something.

I want to get my boarding pass last night and it said "Seat assigned at gate" so I went to the gate where they told me that the flight was oversold and I got bumped to the next morning.

I paid for my ticket 2 months ago, checked in 24 hours early online and was at the airport 3.5 hours before my flight, so needless to say I was livid.

I called my wife to let her know what was going on since she was originally supposed to pick me up at 6am and it was already 1130 in Detroit.

She replied  "Oh FUCK that", said she'd call Delta and call me back. Around 5 mins later, I got a text from Delta with my new boarding pass that had my assigned seat.

    Go wife!

    Wow! Never cross your wife.

There's way too much to talk about the weekend in general but by Saturday night, I felt that I was in 1991 again.  Anywhere you went in Las Vegas, on the strip, near MGM, NYNY, Monte Carlo, the Park, etc, you would see a sea of G N' R shirts.  It became our town...it was a surreal experience.  If you were a G N' R fan in Vegas over the weekend, you belonged and anyone that wasn't, wished they were.  One of the proudest moments I've had of being a G N' R fan (between this and the rock solid performances of G N' R)....we were no longer the fans of "that 80's hair metal band" we were fans of the coolest thing in town and the best thing to hit the rock scene in 23 years.  We were in and we were badasses:headbang:

Yeah. That was pretty awesome and really every one wanted to talk about your GNR t-shirt (and not only in Las Vegas), wherever you went. Definitely the hottest ticket in town. I only met @Subtle Signs and another dude from L.A. at around 4 in the morning at Excalibur and the people doring queing to get to general admission, but you still felt part of something great. The mood in that pit was amazing.

If you are important enough to the band to be there then you have likely played some kind of role in getting them where they are. It's a nice gesture to do your sound check in front of those people as a way to give back.

The fans will likely see a full tour and have every opportunity to see this lineup. However they want to do it is their thing. I have a hard time being mad at the band for scheduling a show at a small LA club, I think it's a great way to start this run.

but nothing has been confirmed so let's see what the details are first.

I have no problem with "important" people hanging out at their rehearsal place. I just would have a problem if this "rehearsal/warm up" show, for which no tickets would be available, would be announced as this big event.

I don't think it'd be beggars and hangers-on,more like friends/family along with important industry people and of course, celebrities.  It'd be nice if a portion of the tickets for this hypothetical gig were set aside for fans/the GNR fanclub as well.

Well. To friends and family it's even less important. They see them all the time. And fuck celebrities, they can get the expensive tickets for free in Las Vegas.

Yea but none of us are important enough to be in GNR's private circle. If this show is for the people close to them then that's fine. Atleast we know Axl will get a sound check/ rehearsal in before the big shows if this turns out to be real.

Well, if it's private then they should just keep it private and not announce it. And why are hangers-on more important than us? We keep them in their jobs.

I'm fine with a private gig, it doesn't make me mad. I think it's pretty cool actually. We will have to wait and see however.

Sounds like if they announce it that there will be tickets for sale. I imagine a private gig being just that.

Nah. Actually it would be a bit lame. First they announce Coachella. Everybody is scrambling to get tickets, then they announce Las Vegas as a warm up gig for Coachella. Everybody is scrambling to get tickets, then they announce a warm up gig for the warm up gig. Everybody is scrambling to get tickets, but none will get any. I kinda think that sucks.

A fan said he said it....we'll see.

Remember we are talking "front row", not just GA.

See, my list of concerts. I've been front row at every show on that list, except Basel in '92, which was my first and I was inexperienced, Mallorca, where I was second row, the 2 Michael Jackson shows in New York, which were seated and Duff in Milano, which was a festival and I've was late.

I hope you're right. But GnR played at the O2 in the UK last (right?) and that was all seated except a small pit at the front (like Vegas basically). I can't stand how sterile these big concerts have got. Bring back the days of the old Wembley Stadium! The only places I think you get full standing now is festivals - which is cool, but you won't get the same kind of crowd as at a proper GnR show.

After a lot of agonizing (and obsessive checking of bank statements) I've decided not to go to the US and to wait until they (please God) do a European tour. Then I plan to take a tent and do my own mini GnR tour / holiday round Europe and see them a few times rock4

Well, the UK is not Europe, like UKers always have the need to point out :-p ;-) But if I rember correctly, 2010 was standing... I almost went to that one, but decided against it, because standing was sold out... and then Duff showed up. Damn it.

Either they come this year, for a couple of shows or they come next year. It's out of the question that they are not coming. Mark my words.

I guess the point to the story is,yes Steven is a grown ass man but his enthusiasm for GNR may not have allowed him to contain himself in a large public setting like the Whiskey show. Duff and Slash both know how to handle annoying GNR-nerds (TM)like myself.

Exactly that's why I thought the timing of that show was odd. And the fact that it is pulled, means he's in.

  11. 5 minutes ago, tsinindy said:

There's GA in Vegas and as I said front row won't be much cheaper for a couple years and I'll stand by that bc I don't think they're going to make it to Europe for a couple years unless it's a festival.  But cheaper is all relative once you start talking about world-wide economics anyway.

Axl is quoted as saying that it's gonna be a full tour. So of cause they are coming to Europe, they always did. As for Vegas, yes there is a small standing section, but how many tickets did they sell for that? 300, for 250 $ a piece? There will be more in numbers and cheaper in price. And I will stand by that and you'll see.

Well it's obvious she doesn't learn. Because she keeps asking them questions when most likely she won't get a truthful answer

Yeah. And the first thing she does is blurt out what she's been told, proving that they are right in not telling her anything. Some people really never learn.

  13. 1 hour ago, Padme said:

Yeah and again Vicky Hamilton has said that Adler won't be participating in the up coming show. We know she got it wrong with Slash. I wonder how reliable she is in this case

If they want to keep it a secret and make it a surprise, then they are not gonna tell anyone and certainly not her. I'm pretty much convinced it's a done deal that he's gonna be there. I always found it awkward, that he is silent all the time, but has a solo show a week before Vegas.

Could take Fortus or leave him.. I do think he is a bit of a show boat and poser on stage.. Hopefully his ego isn't too big to take a step back and just play rhythm guitar now.

Yes. Hope so too. If he has any sense, he will step back. As for Ferrer, with Slash and Duff actually being there when the music is rehearsed, maybe they give some pointers here and there to make it more like it should be, as some say.

Ever considered a change in career? ;). Seriously though, paying £700 for a seat right at the back where I won't be able to tell if it's Axl or my Mum on stage. Yowser. Or Stub Hub tells me I can get a pit ticket for $1,200. Sheeet - maybe I should just do it. As my sister said to me, "On your death bed, will you be worrying about your credit card debt, or will you be thinking I WISH I HAD GOT TO SEE GUNS N' ROSES PLAY!!!".

Your sister is a wise woman. Usually I'm price sensitive, I don't spend money on shit that don't make sense or is overpriced, but sometimes there are things I just need or want to do and then I think something similar like your sister. I would never ever pay 1200 to some scumbag for a ticket though. But I'm doing the trip and I'm also sitting somewhere further back.
