  1. You're a moron.

The only way that I, and probably many other people that bought those, could justify the price was knowing this is a 'once in a lifetime' type of thing. I'll gladly take a while to pay off this trip, because I'm sure the memories will last longer than the debt. You are the douchebag, sir, and you sound pretty bitter that you haven't got a ticket

No worries. I do have my ticket. I just do not let myself be fucked in the ass. And I kept my dignity by knowing I would never pay for fucking VIP or overpriced Meet and Greets.

I actually agree with Patrick. The whole notion of paid meet and greets is cringe worthy in the extreme, musicians acting as prostitutes - pay me enough money and I will bestow you with three minutes of my almighty presence; I might even sign some laminated exclusive piece of crap for you. Yack. Of course if you are just buying VIPs solely to get better seats, fair enough, if you have the cash.

While I can see your point with the "musicians as prostitutes" thing, I feel like it's certainly extra incentive if you can meet the band too. It was quite the experience when I did it. Backstage access with KISS in full costume standing with you the entire time the opening band is playing signing shit and taking pictures. KISS has since added soundcheck access and a full acoustic set where they take requests. That's all part of the "meet and greet" and it starts hours before the show. Like I said, they do it right. They try to give the fans the ultimate concert experience.

The ones that I don't agree with are like Ace Frehley (solo) does. $300 and he sits behind a table, barely utters a word, quick signing and photo and off to the next person in line. Zero inclusion. I'm happy to say I met him for free, and he was an asshole. People who have paid the $300 have said about the same. With KISS, it was like actually hanging out with the band.

Yes. For the price Kiss charge they give you something. But really, they should give it away for free to their Fan Club members.

  2. KISS has been doing it since the early 2000s. I believe they were among the first. Many bands followed suit with the "meet and greet" business. As someone who has done the KISS one, I must say they truly do it right. You meet the band, watch the soundcheck, get autographs, great seats, and so on. They don't pad it out with crap like "VIP drinks" and whatnot that has nothing to do with the band.

Nowadays, the venues and promoters seem to offer all kinds of "VIP" stuff with little to no band involvement. It's their way of making extra money off fans who are willing to shell out for the best seats in the house. Often they claim that VIP packages help them to lower the costs of the regular tickets which is total bull. Generally, in the days leading up to and including show day, any remaining unsold VIP seats will become just regular seats at regular price.

Well. Meet and greets are a different story than those packages. But really the only "right" way would be to raffle it off among fan club members, like Metallica does, and not make the very people who put them on the pedestal sell their liver to afford buying a meet and greet.

And don't get me started with those crappy venue "VIP" shit. I really can't believe that there are people stupid enough to buy that crap.

  3. Yes. It is overpriced and a slap into the face of all the people who supported the various GNR members over the years, no matter in what dump they played. But getting that out of the way, Las Vegas shows are usually the most expensive on a tour. So I'm not quite sure if those are the tour prices, but really to fill stadiums, they should have lots of cheaper tickets. And really fuck those fucking madly expensive "VIP" packages.

I do not honestly remember any of this 'VIP culture' when I used to regularly go to shows in the 1990s - early naughties. It seems to have cropped up in the last ten years. VIPs were traditionally friends/family of the artists, competition winners or fan club members (as in the case of Metallica).

Yes. Any "VIP" who has to pay for it, is not a VIP. You are simply not a VIP if you have to pay for it. Just a douchebag with too much money and/or no sense for the worth of things. If you pay money for these packages you're either rich or love being fucked in the ass.

  4. Being late for your own show isn't great but I don't think it's on purpose, he's just not ready.

And yet billions of people on this planet are on time for work, and they make sure they're ready. Even if it means having to get ready earlier than usual.

And among those people are countless frontmen in bands, who never seem to have the same problem.

My favorite thing was when TB (and Del I think) started to blame the venues themselves. There was several times when they said something like "There's a lot that goes on the day of each show and if the venue doesn't have everything exactly right, it can push the show time back". So every other tour of every shape & size that comes through those same venues has no problem, but the GN'R tour is somehow a totally different situation?

    Always someone else to blame.

Yes. It was hilarious when they tried to sell it as a "feature" of the last true rock star.

  5. I can read so many complaints on this Forum. I don´t understand why.

We will get to see a reunited Guns N' Roses, just be happy!

We got explanations why Axl was late on some shows, you know the reasons already. When you go to see GnR live you might have to wait for years until it happens. And you know tha Band might be late. It happend in the old days, it happend with the new Band and I guess it will happen in the future. that´s how it is. Just be happy to have the possibility to see them live. Just enjoy it!

It´s crazy to read all this comments and complaints. Even when I have the possibilty to see the Band live again, I will also wait for 3 hours and I still will be happy to see the Show!

Yes. Because apparently you're an idiot with little self respect. I value my time and don't find joy in someone unnessesarily making me waste 3 hours of my life staring at an empty stage. It's disrespectful towards the paying audience to the max. How fucked up in the head do to have to be to think it's acceptable and cool to let 13.000+ people stand there like idiots for hours, just because some overpaid fool is not in the right mood to go on stage yet?

But I doubt he's doing it on purpose just to fuck with the fans.

No. He's doing it because he doesn't give a fuck. Any sane person would feel embarrassed to know that there is an arena or stadium full of paying people, standing around and waiting like idiots for hours, just for him to get his ass on stage.

  6. A world tour with the original 5 is not realistic. The UYI line-up with Gilby doesn't make sense. I agree that Matt should be there instead of Frank.

Of course it would make sense. Unlike Fortus and Ferrer, he has been in the band with Slash and Duff. They had been playing together constantly over the past 20 years. They are friends. And I'd take Gilby over Fortus anytime. No NuGNR member should be part of this "reunion", but of course, would Axl let that happen, he would conced that he has failed. Also he needs some people backing him unconditionally. Matt and Gilby won't be those people.

  7. I've said it once and I'll say it again, I'm exceptionally happy as a fan as I honestly never thought this would happen, ever.

However, If I'm honest even happier for Axl and Slash to have just reconciled as two friends. They formed a band together and went through some major highs and major lows and despite all the negativity that has gone one over the last few years, you can't ever forget those experiences, so just knowing they're (hopefully) friends again makes me happy (yes, I'm sappy and stupid). I remember when I saw Cribs a little while back and saw that Slash kept the Dino rocker because Axl had given it to him, it was clear he missed at least some part of that relationship, I guess Axl did too. Oh and I think it's quite big of both of them to have reconciled, it takes a lot to do that and that really can't be overestimated.

You're not the only one. I'm happy about that too.

  8. Exactly! And on top of that, after all of the shit Axl did (and endured) over the last 15 or so years, people really think he'd do it "just for the money"? The man went so far as to make GN'R 2.0, then 2.5, then 3.0. The money and the offers have been there for years and he didn't give in.

This had to do with pride, falling-outs, and moral high grounds among former close friends. It was just displayed in public and had whole internet forums dedicated to talking about it.

People should just accept it for what it is - two guys who, amazingly, mended ways and are now going to jam again (as long as their idiosyncrasies don't get in the way).

Yeah. I kinda agree with that.

They're brothers in the end, and that's why the fighting was so vicious through the years because they both cared!, because they both probably expected better out of eachother and egos and whatever got in the way, Slash respects the fuck out of Axl and I'm sure Axl does too, but Axl seems to get hurt easy and his natural reaction is to defend himself which you can't blame him for.

Yes, that's the feeling I got too. If you do him wrong once (even if it might be out of good intentions or him causing the situation), you're pretty much persona non grata to him. And the closer the person was, the longer he will hold on to his grudge. All it needed was somebody (Duff) to mediate between them. I kinda was expecting this from the moment I heard that Duff has stepped on stage with Axl in London.

  9. Been trying myself and it won't go through. Really regretting holding off on getting a membership for so long now

Yes. Me too... I was this close to getting a membership in december, but then it said something to the effect of only valid for 2015, so I didn't. Damn. But then again, those Coachella tickets at 399 are too expensive anyway.

  10. 2. I was front row, one person from the absolute center. I heard Axl throughout the whole concert really good, amazed by how good he sounded. However, the guitars were way too low, at least in the beginning! So, don't really agree with you on the sound mix in the first row.

I agree with him... I was also in the front... I think I stood pretty close to him actually and the sound was not good at all!
