Sorry, that's from Dublin back to the UK after our flight back from the US. Our flights to Vegas were £320 each which is about €450 ish.

Yes. Yes. I unterstood. I wouldn't think that anyone would fly to Vegas for 10 €. ;-) But those 450, wich actually is more like 410, is still mightily unfair. The cheapest I could have gotten was for 800, with crappy times.

i'm not the person who's not from the US last time I checked Reno NV was still here in the USA :P  there's someone else who is trying to get their stuff I think they are from Australia. so I am wondering if anyone who bought tix thru AXS from the USA such as myself has gotten their stuff yet?

Oh. Okay. I thought you were the one. So you should have no problem, getting your stuff. I know, that's not helping either. :-p ;-)

I have called the AXS ticket # about 10 times about different things and they flat out told me they are a call center and that they can offer little info and/or help. I even tried calling the T-Mobile venue, i spoke with a nice lady who gave me the email of their "hospitality" division. I wrote him and have not received an email back. if anyone else has a better # or way to reach anyone high up I would so appreciate that info. for what I paid I expect more than just good seats TBH :/

Well. It sucks, but it clearly said that packages would only be sent to US postal addresses. I know, that's not helping.

Purchased my ticket only days ago, and have it today in my email! So f'ing pumped!

Paid a fortune for my Gold VIP package, and still fighting to get my merchandise. Why couldn't they just add a shipping charge for international customers?  I'm sure there are plenty of overseas fans coming to Vegas.

What are we, in 1980? Sigh. Would've thought it was simple these days.

Cheers to those on my side. I'll keep fighting the good fight for what's mine!

They don't plan on letting me have it. At all. Totally bogus.

Good advice mate, cheers. I will keep up the phone calls and emails.

Well. It said that all VIP packages are only for americans... not that I wanted to buy any, but that's total bullshit.

    Global sales are much higher.

    http://tsort.info/music/faq_album_sales.htm

It has Illusions I at 16+ Million an Illusions II at 14.8 Million.  (Probable average numbers).

On a another note, as far as U2 goes, the closest they've come to Appetite in terms of global sales was with the Joshua Tree....which has approximately 25 million sales globally vs. 30+ mil for Appetite.

To give the full picture you should also mention that it has "Achtung Baby" at 20.4 million, with probable range of 17 - 24 million. But really, to get acurate numbers for worldwide sales is pretty hard, as it is mostly guesswork from countless sources.

Yessir. That show was the one and only time I've seen U2. I've passed on seeing them every single time since because I just don't think there's anyway I'll see them do another show that awesome. I don't mean they've fallen off or whatever, but you get what I'm saying.

I saw every tour since Elevation and liked every show, but ZooTV was extra special. An extravaganza which, at the time, you wouldn't have expected from U2.

IMO, G N' R peaked during the Illusions tour.  Shortly before Illusions was out & up until the last legs of the tour.  Illusions was the biggest rock tour in history at the time.  194 Shows in 27 countries in just over 2 years.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_Your_Illusion_Tour

vs. 157 shows in 20 countries in less than two years with 3 legs full of stadium shows.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoo_TV_Tour

LOL Like I said, I guess it's a toss up between the 2.

I'm also not sure where all these U2 comparisons are coming from.  U2 were bigger than Guns before Guns' peaked, not as big as Guns when Guns peaked, but eventually gained more popularity (again) after Guns peaked.  Pretty simple, really.   When G N' R peaked they took away from everyone else, no one was bigger.

I'm not so sure if that's really true. In the media and public perception I would say GNR were bigger, but if we look at touring stats and album sales, they were at least as big if not bigger in those years. I guess depending on the time of year and territory. A bit of going back and forth.

Guns N Roses was the biggest spectacle/event in the rock world back then.

    I remember it very well.

That said, GnR wasn't the biggest gig around. That was Michael Jackson. He was almost from a different world.

That said, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the rest of the BIG bands that occupied the vacuum created by GnR's break-up and Metallica's decline, were not even in the same division back in the early 90s.

GnR was on their way to becoming the next Stones, like f.ex. Ozzy O. has said several times.

Personally, I have never fallen for the Whole "grunge took over" thing. I think that what happened, was that when the KING(s), GnR (and perhaps Metallica) fell away, the rock scene took a new direction, or rather; it split.

Aerosmith and Bon Jovi somewhat took over the mainstream rock market again, while several new directions hit the ground running. Nirvana was AS MUCH a product of this, as it was their own brilliance. Punk rock began eating its way into the mainstream, With bands like Greenday and The Offspring. Britpop/Britpop also got its Renaissance, with Oasis at the culprit, followed by f.ex. Blur and Pulp.

Hip hop became more and more mainstream as well, so the whole industry was changing. Gone were the 80s hair bands and synth pop. This was a new beginning.

Nirvana was, indeed, the biggest alternative underground band ever, and became world famous quite quickly when they took off. However, they were mere kings in a portion of a once much larger country, now divided.

Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Madonna(?), and to a degree GnR (and maaaaaybe Metallica) were virtually on top of the world.

    IMHO, nobody has been since.

Pretty much agree. Apart from your underestimation of U2, who certainly play a part in the top as a touring act too. And when we tallk about touring (which really is hype becoming substance) and not look at that certain time frame we have to mention AC/DC, Queen, Tina Turner and Bruce Springsteen too.

What the hell is wrong with this fucking forum??? Sometimes it's not possible to quote a fucking thing???

"GNR was #1, but Metallica took over at some point.  Probably the Montreal incident was the turning point."

Nah.... Metallica (and Bon Jovi) only took over when they continued to release albums and tour, while GNR fell off.

I thought I saw the official numbers at 7 million each and I think that was a total from the late 90s. I think Matt said on twitter recently when someone asked him about that drum fill littered all over the album, part of his response was they've sold over 20 million combined. That sounds about right if it was 14 million 20 years ago.

Those 7 million are only US RIAA certifications.

Guns N' Roses were massive but at the time neither them or Metallica were playing huge stadiums the way U2 was. I was oblivious to U2 back then, but they were huge during the whole Joshua Tree - Achtung Baby era.  I do remember seeing lots of kids with U2 shirts back then but they were the older kids. My age group seemed to be all about Guns N Roses. Metallica was huge too but it never seemed to be on GnR's level.  I don't think the Use Your Illusion albums combined have sold as much as Achtung Baby(18 million I think).  The Black album might have Achtung Baby beat but I'm not sure...... It's hard to say. GnR played a ton fo shows but neither them or Metallica played to the huge crowds the way U2 did consistently back then.  GnR just seemed to be everywhere though. Axl's antics played a huge part in that though. He was a media sensation. The guy everyone loved to hate and he drew a reaction.  The hysteria surrounding the realse of the Illusions though was very real.

Guns N' Roses (and later on Metallica  were playing stadiums too). Just like U2. All 3 of them did stadiums and arenas. The biggest bands in those days were GNR, U2 and Metallica.... later on Bon Jovi joined. Of course U2, Bon Jovi and GNR were more on a mainstream level than Metallica, but still Metallica has gotten mainstream and broke out of the niche they used to be, but at that time they weren't as big as GNR (that changed over the years though). I remember on Dial MTV GNR, Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi dukeing it out for the #1 spot every day.

how would you react if you saw Pitman occupying a prime position onstage in Vegas after all that has happened?

Ignore him. Like I did at all Nu-GNR gigs.. I've gotten pretty good at that. I even went as far as ignoring everyone but Axl at later show's. Made the whole thing more enjoyable to me.

I just can't picture Slash and Duff not realizing how vital Izzy is to this thing....

They went on tour 2 years without him and did just fine. They announced 6 shows and all of them are sold out. So really, he is not vital to do this "reunion" tour. But obviously, it would be so much better, would he be there in some way.

  14. Just now, Billsfan said:

And other than axl slash and duff literally NO ONE else has been confirmed. We don't even know now if pitman will be involved. So your analogy doesn't apply here

Of course it does. Now the "reunion" is announced. Back then it wasn't. Back then it was more likely that one of the guys will die before a reunion could happen.

  15. 13 minutes ago, Billsfan said:

Sure but no one is talking and frankly, even the few times they did between July and December all anyone did was deny deny deny. I'm glad we now know that's him but I'm consistently sticking to my original opinion that he'll be there and he'll be involved, I think it's just denial until they're all collectively ready to talk

Apples and oranges. Back then the "reunion" was not announced.

Its interesting how some people deep inside wants that gnr daños

I mean,;its the only explnation i can think of for this kind of posts ive been reading.

If theres something we gnr fans unos how go do is READ BETWEEN THE LINES.

So right know is like some of you want to believe that izzy iis out of the picture. AMD to do that , u guys just took the info pieces u need for it.

So, to sum up , read carefuly everything izzy wrote, remember what izzy did last 10 years with axl, duff, slash,  and evaluate the convenience of someone as EXTRA LOW PROFILE like izzy who has been involved in a lot of diferent gnr rumors over the years , NOW came up with a OFFICIAL TWITER ACOUNT  with some very selected and interesting set of words.

Be sure of this and remember this words:  IZZY STRADLIN WILL BE PART OF EVERYTHING GNR ITS ABOUT TO DO. Maybe/probably not the entire show, but he will be part of it

Pd: adler also will be there some how, un a very smaller way, but he will.

Sorum?  Very probably will be there too but not in april. or may.   But he will.

So REMEMBER AND MEMORIZE THIS POST and just be cool.

    PEACE

    SEPTEM

Well, it looks like the only one doing the wishful thinking is you. A man notorious for being disconnected creates a Twitter acount to tell the world, that he won't be a part of GNR reunion. What does that tell you? Or what should that tell any sane person? That he is not involved in those shows.

The only other scenario is, that he would like to be part of it, but certain people don't want him there/don't comply with his demands and him announcing to the world that he's not gonna be there is his way of putting pressure on the other guys and maybe creating demand for his being there.

If he indeed knows he's there and there is no opposition from anyone to him being there, then he's just being a total jackass.
