  1. Absurd is generally fantastic, it’s the best received new song since the reunion. The lyrics are deceptively clever, and good.
  2. I mean, what is Slash doing with the Estranged solos? They don’t sound anything like they’re supposed to, and they’re up there with his best and most iconic work and so deserve to be note for note representations every night. And it’s arguably their best song.
  3. Still watching this back and it is my opinion that Axl bought is A game to this gig. He sounds better here than last night for example.
  4. There was almost a GUNS N’ ROSES chant, which would have been very old school, it didn’t quite get off the ground.
  5. There was a Glastonbury tour shirt, I never saw it for sale but saw a few people wearing it, would have liked one.
  6. I’ve just seen some shots of the stage from the viewing gallery (by Del James’ partner), it’s basically split in two across the middle for camera men to lurk down below (in like a trench). That explains the intense closeups. What an amazing video this is.
  7. This must be some of the best footage we have of the band. Suppose it’s comparable to other recent pro-shots but there do seem to be a lot of great closeups. It’s somewhat expected because it’s shot live for television by the BBC, on their terms with their cameras. In some scenes it’s like Slash is a giving a guitar less (albeit a very advanced one). The mix sounds pretty good for the most part too (Axl quiet in parts). It’s a great production and the band are on fire.
  8. When Macca is watching your set you know you’re doing something right. The clip of him singing along to Live and Let die is great.
  9. The whole set live, for your viewing pleasure on BBC2 on a Saturday night. It’s like 1992 again and the Hippodrome de Vincennes.
  10. I expect this to look like the whole show. But there will be cuts. Macca apparently played from three hours last year, I don’t think we got the whole three hours on tv, I could be wrong. This was always going to be on tv one way or another, it’s the whole point of it.
  11. Not strictly true. A lot of things are shown live through iplayer, chances are this will be “live” on iplayer (speech marks as its delayed). You can watch live tv through iplayer. edit: can see you have posted again on the subject
  12. No. You will probably need to create an account somehow though, I can’t remember whether you’d need an address for that.
  13. Haters gonna hate, so who cares? Tbh, 2023 Guns N’ Roses haven’t been hiding under a rock, most people have an idea about them, if they’re a massive surprise to some people then they haven’t really been paying attention. If some kids don’t like what they see or hear, I’m not going to get upset about it. I’m sure plenty will.
  14. No. It’s unlikely to be a “disaster”, they’ve been playing to huge fields filled with people all over the world for six years, doubt this will be too different, most people have a great time at these shows. It scarcely matter how this show goes down, their legacy is long since sealed.
  15. Jesus that crowd looks absolutely huge, well played Guns.
  16. Man, Anything goes, what a great song to be able to dust off and bust out. I loved the intro, such a surprise, guess Susan was right then.
  17. That’s what I was expecting! Thanks for the correction, I wasn’t sure what didn’t sound right.
  18. Really like PTU, it’s got a good riff. I’m glad we got the ‘ad libs’, Cool Ranch Dressing and The Perils of Rock n Roll decadence.
