I think Axl like them because like their music, I remember a video of him AND His friend Dave Lank seeing Mother Love Bone
Really? MLB are one of my fave bands and I never knew Axl happened to see them live. They played at least once in LA with Dogs D'Amour in '89, I assume that's when Axl saw them. I'll see if I can find the video you mentioned, but if anyone has more info about this I'll be more than happy to hear.
EDIT: found the video, posting it here.

Looks like Axl has been working out a little bit, seems in a better physical shape.

I will donate 100% of it to a charity (I would pick something for homeless vets or an animal shelter in need) and I will put 200 bucks of my own money on top. I would do more but I'm poor, so for me that's a lot of money. But I'll do it. I understand he's busy touring right now, but I'm still offering. Could be on Axl time in the middle of the night or something I don't care.
This reminds me of "Sebastian, you don’t understand. I will pay VH1 two millions to leave me the fuck alone". Always one of my favorite Axl stories.

On Facebook someone asked SFP Magazine if GNR would play the general at the hell and heaven fest and they replied with yeah, Axl already confirmed it to Armando Arzola
I took a look and it seems tongue-in-cheek (like many of the other comments under that post)

I see the thread marked as "Hot!" and the only thing happening is obviously a discussion about Rolling Stones 😅

I always think you're Italian. Now i are confused.
I am absolutely Italian, I was just joking. If you run it through an automatic translator it will show you something like: "New album coming in November, I can confirm. Source: trust me bro, but in Indonesian". 😅

Sebuah album baru akan hadir di bulan November, saya bisa pastikan.
Sumbernya, percayalah bro, tapi dalam bahasa Indonesia.

(I guess the bit towards the end is what @Sweersa is referring to)
Thanks!! Just re-read it and I remembered some parts of it. I guess I read it years ago and forgot about it. Very interesting reading to go back to

The guy who leaked the 9 songs in 2008 has a nice three page article on his AntiQuiet site, and on one of those pages he says during that time, others reached out who had stuff he didn't, he said there were about ten other tracks that were out there. He doesn't recall who or specifics, but he was played bits and said some of it was really good. Of those ten or so tracks, I'm sure some of it still hasn't leaked or wasn't on the 2008 album.
Do you have a link? I quickly googled and couldn't find it. Sounds super interesting and I don't remember reading it.

There have been many vids of him meeting people in day time pre shows though when NOT tired....they could ask then....I'm just surprised nobody has, that's all....
There was that girl, can't remember where, who met him and asked about Hardskool. He allegedly played the song on his phone and said it was going to be released soon. I think it was in 2021 not long before HS was actually released.

Even a song like Silkworms has an absurd history. Played in 01, a clip leaks post-CD, and then we didn't hear a proper studio demo until the Village sessions (right? I was out of the loop 2010-16.) If it was out there that whole time, you'd of thought we'd of heard it.
Actually, before the Village leaks in 2019, a Silkworms demo with Bumblefoot on guitar had leaked. That was in 2017 if I remember correctly.

why haven't the Absurd and Shaddow of your Love live exlusives been ripped and surfaced online?
I had no idea. If anyone wants to hear the live Absurd, I can help tomorrow.

It could well be. I still don’t understand (and correct me if I’m wrong) why people claim the clip from that fashion show is the general.
Because the song from the fashion show seems to include that orchestral bit used by GNR as concert intro, which was confirmed by their Twitter account (or by Fernando on Twitter, can't remember) to be from The General.

Reddit is full of shit , just people who make stuff up and others fall for it
That's exactly why I asked if that was the "source".

Just heard we are getting Atlas Shrugged in November
Same reddit/hasitleaked sources as usual or anything new?

Are we now sure that those two notes are exactly the same recording from Robin's solo in the Village Leaks and haven't been reproduced by either Slash himself or Richard? Do our guitar experts on here have a fairly certain idea about it? I apologize if this was already discussed, I might have missed it in such a long thread.

I have always been under the impression that the The General played before CD shows was the instrumental of the entire song and not just an intro for it.
As far as we can figure out from the phone recording, they simply lifted the orchestration from one part of the song and used it as a concert intro. It's most likely not the actual intro from The General, just one part from the song.

Then again, I am apparently in the minority and think Chinese’s 2008 final version is a great sounding album
I'm totally with you on this. Chinese Democracy's mastering is an amazing work, even more so if you think how dense and layered the production is.
-
I think the mixing, while not perfect, is acceptable. The biggest issues are rooted in the mastering: it's the mastering making HS so loud and "brickwalled". The very same mix, mastered in a proper dynamic way rather than loud for loudness' sake, would sound significantly better.

It had not happened to me yet, but now, in Italy, The General brings me to GnR and Perhaps in the top results among artists and albums.
I know the release is official by now, but being on Spotify I was wondering if it wasn't a confirmation that it will also be available for streaming on the various platforms.
True, it's the same for me in Italy too. For what it's worth, Perhaps never returned any GNR results for me until about 10-15 days before the official release. The General, until a few days ago, wouldn't return any GNR results either. Now it gives me GNR as the first result in artists and Perhaps as the second result in songs.

Theory: The timing for releasing more reworked songs will depend on whether the plan - or at least Slash's wish - to start working on new music after the tour, according to what Slash and Tom Mayhue said, materializes (read: on whether Axl is willing or feels ready for it).
So, if by some miracle the band starts working on brand new music, the rest of the rehashed CD era songs might be released "soon". If not, they will be held for 2024 or, more likely, 2025.
If theory is true, Atlas might be followed by a whole album collecting the already released singles plus whatever is left. Long shot, I know 😅

Dummy and Me & My Elvis, as they are easily my favorite instrumentals from the village leaks. No idea how they could sound after being reworked by Slash & Duff but I don't mind, I would love to hear finished versions of those.

Well, Marco Bertrami mentioned the title in 2002/2003. He did the work in the summer of 2002, so that should mean it was called The General by then.
Yes, I checked the a4d song archive in the meantime and saw that. Thank you!
"The General" is officially delayed... but "The General" AND "Monsters" is (unofficially) out of the bag

If I had to bet one coin, I'd say they start by listening to the previous version with guitars and bass still there, so they can get a rough grasp of what the initial idea was, then they work on the bare bones version and do their own thing. It would be indeed VERY nice to hear them talk about this process more in-depth than the usual "Axl had these songs that he wanted to get out, so we went in and recorded on them".
