I agree, but what is odd is they didn't leave any of Josh's parts at all. I would have expected them to keep him on at least one or two songs or in parts of others like with they did with Bucket and others who were not in the band at the time of release.
The only assumption I can make about this is that Josh (with Robin, who then returned) was the first one to leave and Axl, at that point, still believed in having an album by whichever the current line-up was, so he had Brain to re-record everything and, if I remember correctly, he was talking about re-recording most of Robin stuff as well before he returned. Then, as musicians started to come and go through revolving doors, he might have changed his mind about this, but I guess at that point Brain had already re-recorded everything as far as drums go, and that might be why he didn't consider Josh's parts again.
Of course, pure speculation, but that's the only thing I can think of.

Demon Bell
Oh yes, that was a fake that spread out around the Napster era. The song is actually called Demon Bell and it's by texan band Dangerous Toys, taken from the Shocker movie soundtrack. Their singer Jason McMaster has a raspy voice, so they tried to pass it out as Axl's, but clearly not.

Then in 96 there was another hype, right before Slash quit and a lot of magazines talking about "Machine Gun".
Really? Here in Italy there were a lot of rumors about GNR on the magazines back then (including the rehearsals with Zakk in 95), but no one ever mentioned 'Machine Gun' here as far as I remember. The first time I read that title was when the pictures of the Duff/Izzy demos from 95 came out, with Toothpuller as well (which had been mentioned by Dizzy in an interview in the 00's).
@Blackstar @SoulMonster do you have in the archives any mentions for 'Machine Gun' before the tape pictures surfaced a few years ago? I'm really curious about this kind of stuff.

I'm pretty sure that's the same show where Axl forgot the lyrics to November Rain. Definitely not a good highlight.

What the fuck are you talking about?
Michael Monroe sang Ain't It Fun on Spaghetti and played harmonica on Bad Obsession.

I guess we can't be sure until we get an album and see the credits.
I'm afraid this might not happen, and I'm not talking about the album release. They kept "hiding" the performance credits on the last couple of things they put out (both SOYL and the HS single). We knew about Brain because he was mentioned on YouTube, but I guess if an album comes out they might use the same "creditless" approach.

Never officially released, but it got leaked a few years later. I think you can still find it on YouTube, unless it's been taken down.

Are you ready for new album released in spring and new setlist with new album performed in its entirety??

Wow. Interesting reading and saying "impressive" work would be an understatement!
Thank you for all the time and effort put into this, much appreciated.

I stand corrected. Setlist FM usually has that pie chart at the bottom that shows how many songs were played from each album. I must have misread it
The problem with those pie charts is that they count any covers in the "covers" category, regardless of whether they were released on an album or not. So you'll see, for example, YCBM in the "slice" for UYI2 and KOHD in the "slice" for covers, and so on.

Just searched again after a couple of weeks or so. I used to get GNR for "Atlas sh" (italian spotify account, but current geo position UK), now searching atlas sh or atlas shrugged gives me no gnr results anymore. Other titles never worked for me and still don't.

I'd love to have bucket and fink on everything
I'd love that too, but that ship has long sailed. For better or worse, I'd be more than happy to get a Slash-ized version of whatever they worked on at this point.

But how do we know that the link had AS? It's somewhere in between the information about the 2013 leaked clips.
Unfortunately, we can't. For all we know, that link could be anything. If anyone downloaded it back then and can confirm it's true we can only take their word for it (or not).

If it's expired it wont matter anyway.
Of course it won't matter, but we would know if the info (which I had never heard of before today) was true or just crap.

Your referring to the document with Solid Snake art work on the cover? PDF from way back, that was a long time ago. I doubt any of those people are around anymore
I can't remember if it had any solid snake graphics on it. It surely had a lot of info, including emails, phone numbers etc, about a lot of the studio engineers who worked on the tracks. Some of their responses (when they answered to an attempted contact) were also included.
I never knew about this "hidden link". If it was there, I never found it. Even if it's expired, the obsolete link should be still there if the info is true. Unfortunately, I can't check that because I'm abroad and I won't have access to my old computer until I'm back home in November.

I think this spotify thing might be not related just to the actual geo-position but to the account used as well.
I'm italian and I access Spotify through an italian FB account. I'm currently in the UK and I've been here since this Spotify-GNR thing started. I casually searched some of the songs here in the UK with my usual italian Spotify account, but I never got any results. I searched again now, after seeing some Italian users mentioning they started to get results, and I'm finally getting stuff.
Specifically:
- atlas sh gives me GNR as the first result in "Artist" plus a GNR playlist, GNR radio and two 80's rock playlist (one of them using GNR as the cover image). If i type any other letters after "sh", no more GNR.
I just tried tried all the other songs mentioned in the first page of this thread, but nothing else came up for me.

I'd also love to see footage of the one time they did Dust N Bones in 1992 without Izzy. You can't even make out who's singing lead vocals in the bootleg as fucking crazy as that sounds, it could be anyone Axl Gilby or Duff.
I opened a thread a while ago about this. The consensus was that it was Duff on vocals, which would make sense as he often sang it in his solo/Loaded shows too later on. While the recording is very crappy, if I had to bet a few cents I'd say that's Duff's voice too.

Aren't Leave Me Alone and Soul Monster the same song?

I doubt there's a more completed version of Ain't Goin' Down than the one on the "Axl Advance Copy" bootleg, so if AGD was in the box set it would most likely be that same version. There's probably also a later complete version with Gilby's guitar replacing Izzy's parts (part of which was used on the pinball machine), but with the same vocals.
Yes, exactly what I meant. Why wouldn't those work as bonus tracks while we got The Plague and New Work Tune on AFD deluxe?

If they released Ain't Goin' Down, whatever year it was recorded, I would really like it
Me too, but it's indeed strange they didn't use it here (according to the tracklists floating around). That's the only outtake from the UYI era which we know is fully (or almost fully) completed.

Plot twist: they didn't include Ain't Goin' Down in the bonus material because they've been reworking it (with 90's vocals) for the "new album".
