  1. - I confess that - despite listening to CD songs almost daily - I haven't listened to an unedited version of any of the tracks from it since November 2008.

    - I genuinely like and appreciate all the musicians that have been a part of GNR over the years, but there is only one that I wish was still around, even if it meant every other member except Axl had to go. He wears a bucket on his head.

    - I'd drop $100 or more for a rocking studio version of "It Tastes Good, Don't It".

  2. Atlas Shrugged is a glam rock Nov Rain according Tom Zutaut.

Soul Monster is GNR most Sabbath song to date.

The General is the most metal song Axl has done.

Yeah, and Bach said Sorry was death metal...

Didn't Bach call it "doom metal"? If so, and wiki is even a little bit reliable with its definition, maybe he wasn't so far off? :shrugs:

  3. Going Down, Dust N Bones & 14 Years are by far the best non-Axl vocal GNR songs.

Anything else that Izzy or Duff sang doesn't match up to the quality of those songs.

I actually like Double Talkin' Jive more than Going Down, Dust N' Bones and 14 Years, but otherwise I agree completely.

  4. Nobody cares about these songs outside of the forums. For good reason.

Could the good reason happen to be because not a single soul outside the forums has ever heard the songs before?
    This

Yeah because we all know one of them wasn't on the soundtrack to a movie seen by millions and the other wasn't played in front of thousands by GNR

Busted. My previous statement was indeed wrong. Many more people did hear those songs than I suggested, but in all likelihood it has been a very long time since they did. Almost a generation has passed, so it may be best to reserve judgement about what everyone on planet earth would want or like until they've heard it (again). You don't like the songs? Great. I happen to like them both, very much, and I think they have an audience.

And AndreCC, stfu. Almost everyone on this (and every other GNR forum) knows you'd give your left nut to hear a studio version of Silkworms. Your posts crack me up.

  5. Well, I met Ron today at the hot sauce festival, and asked him if he could say why he needed to reschedule his tour. He couldn't. He sure is a hell of a nice guy though. He shook hands, gave hugs, signed everything..... just as good a guy as he could be.

    That's great to hear!

If he's not allowed to say then we can definitely assume it's GnR related then! :-D

He didn't say he's not allowed to say. As a matter of fact, he did his best to keep from even hinting that it may have anything to do with GNR. Who knows? Maybe its personal? I'd also like to think its for GNR, but he gave nothing away. He just smiled and seemed very genuine and cool. Mrs. Bumble showed up too. They all seemed great. I bought all his hot sauces.

  6. And is it just me or is that closing Buckthead solo different than from the audio version?

Thanks everybody for all the nice things you've said.

Doakes, virtually all the guitars you hear are adds from different sources, and honestly, it has been so long that I don't remember where there all from. I think the part from 3:05 may have come from a live performance that was called "guitar virus" (Praxis)? The bits just before that were re-tuned/timed chunks from CD and Riad, I think.

  7. If we were to put every member ever in GNR, and yes that includes employees, additional musicians, Beta and Fernando...

How many people would be on the banner. Over 20?

    Thank god for widescreen lol

22 official members, which don't even include Traci and Roberta, Teddy, Anne, Cici, Lisa, etc.

And because I am bored at work, here is a banner showing the age/style progressions of Axl and Buckethead:

  8. This is just a guess, but I think the best way to ensure we never get another studio release out of Axl would be for his dedicated fanbase to repeatedly insult both him and the woman he calls his mother. I would like to express my gratitude to all of you have contributed to the lack of music from my favorite vocalist.

So because one forum criticizes Axl and his 'manager', Axl in turn refuses to release new music? Does that seem at all rational? You see how ridiculous that is right?

Lol, they weren't releasing music when we were positive. So fuck it.

Yes, I do see how ridiculous that is, but I don't see how that doesn't make it possible. We're still talking about Axl, right? I also just don't see what good it does to insult anyone. Discussion is great. Critique is great. Insults aren't really my thing. I just have a hard time seeing how that can result in any type of solution.

And I completely agree with Groghan's suggestion above. That would be great if they could do that.
