  1. Getting Soul Monster was a huge surprise, that would have been the next one. Honestly, it depends what has vocals. I love a lot of the instrumentals but who knows what he sang lyrics over? Id love to hear Zodiac, Tonto, Oklahoma, Quicksong, Me and My Elvis, etc with vocals and with added/reworked music but who knows what was done? The last big completely unheard songs (unless they were on the locker set) are probably Seven and Ides of March Like the songs or not, this week was huge. Anything else is a bonus, and it feels like the door is finally closing on our Chinese journey.
  2. Hmmm @Voodoochild and @22frets might be onto something with the outro solo of Monsters. Slash first half and Fortus second? Sounds great whoever did the parts
  3. I disagree, end is textbook Slash to me Oh so they both do the solo at the end? I need to listen , again. Certain parts scream Slash to me
  4. Slash plays exactly like the outro of Monsters on The Last Fight and Battleground. That’s him You don’t think it’s Bucket on The General’s solo? I’ll listen again
  5. That’s definitely Slash at the end of Monsters. He plays similar on The Last Fight Agree on the rest.
  6. I think they’re rough mixes. Monsters is Slash but The General trips me up This is what I think, I’m doubtful these are the final versions because they sound like demos
  7. I am thinking The General is not the final version. Hoping it sounds a lot better with a final mix if that’s the case
  8. I almost feel guilty listening to The General. Lyrics are definitely some of Axl’s darkest
  9. I think there is a weird in between here. No way these are final and ready for release, and it sounds like Bucket doing the General solo and Slash on Monsters
  10. I can't help but laugh. Dude, I like Monsters (although both of these sound unfinished and are bad mixes), but The General is just... FUCK. A perfect lesson in anticipation and hype
  11. Monsters really is something I could see both Axl and Slash coming up with separately in the 90s. It sucks they couldn't keep it together! Reminds me of Lower with a twist of CD- era GNR. Great stuff!
  12. Monsters has a really simple structure for Axl. Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus. I guess Hard Skool does too, but at least Monsters has more lyrics. I also think it’s possible that Monsters = Soul Monster and Me and My Elvis was scrapped. The bridge matches up to what Axl alluded to, and the title would make for a wild coincidence
  13. Monsters is def Slash. Parts of The General sound like him, too. Only the solo in The General trips me up. Sounds like Bucket. If it’s Slash, he’s playing really fast and clean Love Slash’s work on Monsters
  14. The original solo completely changes the vibe of Monsters, and is a lot more sinister. That being said, this is just straight up classic- Slash. I haven't heard him like this since at least VR. Super cool to hear that with Axl
