I think the days of the forum going into meltdown expecting the band to do something exciting are long gone. It's not 2018 anymore. Anybody not expecting same shit different day from this band in 2023 must have a learning disability.

No, I agree they'll almost certainly never top AFD, but then, what validity does that point even have? Imagine if Ronnie James Dio thoughrt "meh, I'll never top Stargazer" and just gave up. Then we wouldn't have had classics like Heaven & Hell and Holy Diver and an amazing back catalogue of fan favourites. Saying "meh, we'll never top x" is just a lazy excuse not to bother trying. CD wasn't as good as AFD, but I'm still glad they made it and got a lot of enjoyment from it.

The whole "past their prime" and "they'll never top Appetite" argument is just bullshit though, isn't it? Metallica will never top Master of Puppets, doesn't stop them releasing albums. Sabbath will never top the 70s albums, they still released music well into their 50s/60s and 70s. Axl has every right to sit on his ass and not release music with GNR. It's just sad watching the years go by and nothing ever happening, because it's a waste of talent. But it's Axl's talent, to waste as he wishes. I guess he's content just being known for Appetite.

Axl could always try and be the catalyst for his own inspiration? Can't blame Duff and Slash for not inspiring him, when he's shown he's totally uninspired himself for the last 2 decades. That is utterly pathetic of MyGNR. I have second-hand embarrassment for the mods.
