I don't really care what name they collaborate under, I'd love to hear Axl singing on new music written by Slash.
Slash is the songwriter there... 🤔 unless you are specifically talking about lyrics. And Myles isn't even my taste all the time, but he definitely is a competent songwriter. The World on fire album has some great vocal/lyrics as does year of the tiger
Lyrics and vocal melodies. Myles lyrics are cringe 99% of the time but his vocal melodies are even worse, all major key wanna be anthem garbage.

No, the fan said he was tired of waiting for new music. So Fortus told him to rest a while. It doesn't mean anything but to rest when you're tired. Zero meaning.
Ah, I stand corrected.

IIUC the reasoning usually isn't that people will buy tickets to hear the new songs played, but that the publicity from new music will help boost sales.

do you really like "4" ? nothing good for me
I don't like the album because of Myles but I thought Slash had a lot of cool ideas on it that went to waste. C'est La Vie, Spirit Love, Whatever Gets You By, Fall Back To Earth and The River Is Rising all could have been good songs with a competent songwriter.

I really hope it's not a cover album. Slash is too talented to waste all his new music on a low tier writer such as Myles. I never minded his voice as much as others did but his generic Nickelback/Shinedown lyrics and melodies ruined the albums for me. I thought the 2010 album was very cool. If it is a cover album I hope there's a lot of original riffs and leads.

Melissa Reese. At least Pitman co-wrote two great songs on CD. Her collaborations with Brain and Bucket were awful. Not an ounce of creative talent.

I forgot how much better Axl sounded in 2012 compared to today. I kind of lumped everything from 2011 onward (besides 2016 of course) in the Herbert/Mickey Mouse phase, but he sounds pretty decent in that clip above.

Gnr fans are the best and the worst 😅
The song is coming, possibly more.
Album is being worked on, and the way Mayhue talked about it this is much more than Slash wishful thinking
Mayhue is clearly confused as he also stated there was a lot left over from the Appetite sessions. As far as his comments about new music being worked on, it's probably nothing more than he's heard what Slash has said in interviews. There is no evidence of any album being worked on. None.

Not trying to sound condescending but I'm shocked so many people took Slash's comment about working on a brand new album after the tour so seriously. It wasn't referring to any actual plans they've made, he clearly stated it's something he wishes would happen. The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior and there's no evidence of Axl being a songwriter since the Bush administration, besides an offhand comment from DJ about Axl working on a piano instrumental in a hotel. Even if Axl agreed to try to write new music together, it would be years before it would be completed. Some of the years being thrown around like a brand new album in 2025...what are you people smoking?

Microman. I remember he agreed to talk to Rolling Stone only on the condition they put Microman's picture in the article.

Fortus has never been anything but an overrated gremlin. I really wish that rumor about Dave Kushner replacing him had been true.

Guy is just repeating random stuff that is already out there. The "In This Grave" title along with the "They say the stars don't look the same" lyric were posted by @youthinkso over a decade ago. Who the fuck knows if they're accurate or not. In This Grave was never implied to be Soul Monster though, or even that the title and lyrics were from the same song. The stuff about Beltrami adding orchestration and Axl recording it on a Christmas eve is also already known information. This troll can't even come up with anything original.

I think Slash wouldn't enjoy the process of actually making a gnr record, where he wouldn't be able to hurry through the process and be in the driver seat.
I don't know if it's 100% Slash needing to be in the driver's seat, I think he'd be OK with Axl rejecting some ideas he had, asking him to change them or even suggesting a different overall direction. I think it's just that he's not inspired at all to just remove the CD band from already completed tracks and copy and paste new stuff over it. It's not the way he has ever written music.

just passing by to read the "no new music" guys
ah, they're not here anymoreMost people who don't believe new music will come out want it to happen but are pessimistic after so many years of nothing. Not sure why you'd celebrate this as a victory of some kind over them as if they aren't fans and don't want it to happen.

Oh FFS I made a small joke about Axl being in love with Ashba, the implication being that Ashba is so worthless that Axl must have had another reason to be as fond of him as he was. It wasn't even ha ha funny, just a sarcastic comment really. Didn't mean to start an avalanche.

This has to be one of those tone / internet text issues. There's no way this is serious 😄
If it is then I have to re-evaluate all the bands I listen to. They might all be homosexuals. Looking at you Manowar😄
Ehhh....maybe 10% serious? I just always found Axl's fondness for DJ completely inexplicable.

Axl had a borderline homosexual infatuation with Ashba. Glad that era is over with.

When did they last do Coma? NITL?
They added Coma during the last few shows of 2021 and it was played on the majority of shows in 2022. The night Hard Skool was released we thought Axl was finally going to sing it live but he brought Coma back instead.

Axl reconciled with Matt in 2006, even drove him around NYC, then in 2007 Matt is in the press making fun of Axl again, saying he is "so jealous" of VR. Not to mention he lies and embellishes constantly, always changing his story about his firing. First it's because Tobias insulted Slash, then it's a disagreement between him and Axl about the direction of the band. He also says shit like Axl would call him and say "you're fiiiiiiiiiiiired" in his signature high pitched voice, a story fans will recognize as pure bullshit but the idiotic media would of course believe. I'm so glad that egotistical asshat isn't part of the reunion.

The main issue with Pele is that he derailed discussion constantly. Of course it was the choice of other users whether to reply or not so it wasn't all on him but he basically copy and pasted the same couple of paragraphs almost a hundred times over the span of a few months. He was also unnecessarily combative with anyone that disagreed with him, often times completed unprovoked. For example, I completely agree with Pele that tracks like Zodiac were never completed, but if I see someone say that they hope Zodiac will be on the next album I don't give them some unprovoked snarky reply like "Yeah, keep hoping for something that doesn't exist, idiot", which is basically what he did multiple times.

I agree with Pele about most stuff except Soul Monster not having vocals, it's ludicrous to suggest that Axl lied about recording on that song and yet he insisted he did. I have never felt tracks like Oklahoma and Zodiac were completed with vocals and will not be disappointed if we don't get them. I do think there's a good chance there's another 1 or 2 tracks we've never heard of that were completed, the guy who recorded The General cellphone clip said there was a ballad in the style of SOD that was played as well. Atlas and Perhaps don't really remind me of SOD at all so I think there might still be some other stuff in the vault. Not much though.

Brian May has never talked about playing on Perhaps, nor has anyone else associated with GNR ever even implied such. Tommy has confirmed May worked on Riad. These are facts, not up for debate.
