Axl can whistle, maybe it's Wind of Change. I hate this era.

The current state of GnR is the most depressing, ever. The wait for Chinese Democracy was great in comparison.
Now, we're starving for shittier versions of CD leftovers, badly mixed, with no promotion and even that is an annoying nightmare. Wow.

What's with that pre save bullshit anyway, who cares?

All of this is beyond annoying, just release your shitty little single leftover turd now.

Hey GnR, I got an album title for you:
Maximum Annoyance
Feel free to use it!

Outside of the song(s) we are about to get, my wish list would be for Duff to do "Goin Down" (who owns the rights to that song?) and, if Axl can't put lyrics to it, have the band use Oklahoma as a mid show -so Axl can catch a breather- jam.
I wouldn't like that at all.
It's Tommy's song and he sings it better than Duff ever could. Axl should give the rights back and let Tommy release it.

I would prefer new music with the NITL lineup.
In absence of that, I’d rather they just release everything in the vaults of Chinese leftovers so it can be done with. At this point, I’m exhausted by it.
I really enjoyed Chinese Democracy as an album. But I think the best bits made the album. There’s nothing on the Village Leaks (with or without vocals) that stand out to me to make me want to hear more.
I also hear Chinese Democracy as a bit of a time capsule. Even when it was released, it didn’t sound like a 2008 album to me. It sounded like an unreleased album from the 90s, which it more or less was. So even now, listening to it, I hear it as a product of its era. Which is why the Slash and Duff remakes are fine…but also sort of sound weird. I like Absurd and Hard Skool, but they very much sound like songs from a previous era that they’re trying to “force” into a modern yet somehow also classic Guns sound. I’m perhaps not able to articulate what I mean, but ultimately I’d rather they just release the leftover Chinese Democracy songs and move on to something new if they insist on putting them out at all. I’m done with that era.
Yep, it just doesn't work that way. Plus, the material just never was very strong to begin with.

It's such a weird and tragic story, the whole Nu GnR thing.
Back in the day, I really hated Robin taking Slash's spot. Now, the idea of having a version of GnR with Robin AND Buckethead instead of how the whole Reunion thing turned out, seems super exciting.

Everything is taking way to long with GnR so it's exhausting to even think about when an album written by the current band would be released.
It's just not gonna happen.

I just listened to the Village version of Perhaps again...this really isn't a great song, not even a good one.
I can't see why they'd choose it if they had anything better finished and ready to go.

More interresting than the song itself will be the way they handle it's release this time around.
Is there gonna be proper promotion, a real video and some kind of excitement coming from the band?
Or will it be the bare minimum again and a "we know it's just some old ass leftover tune, no big deal" approach?

Standalone single, one verse!

Will you guys be disappointed if it's gonna be only Perhaps with one verse, no new lyrics, all the annoying "hay hays" and a lesser guitar solo as the next release?

If we can't get new music, can we please get a beard?
Just a little stubble?
Fernando?

I think he looks great for his age. I can only pray that I look that good when I'm 61. Just needs one of those old man beards and he'd be killing it.
Yeah, he looks a lot cooler this year, the wrinkles and all that looks good on him, imo.
A beard and even messier hair, current length, would look good as well.

at this point i think it's pretty absurd you guys are discussing this. He hasn't been this thin ever since 2006. He's just wrinkled because of his age. He also barely has any belly anymore. He may be 61, but he looks in top shape, he's just not as slim as Duff.
Just look at his face, he hasn't been this thin for ages
He looks super cool in this picture, a bit like Sparky from Demented Are Go.

100% that Fortus was respectful.
FWIW, I'm responding to this before navigating through the entire thread, so perhaps others have already made the same comments I'm about to. If so, my apology.
First, before anybody reaches for the argument that Fortus is merely defending a band mate and may not totally believe what he said -- keep in mind that Fortus could have stayed silent and not publicly commented at all. Nobody would even know if he had read Nuno's comments in the first place. The fact that Fortus felt compelled to respond tells me he believes everything he said in defense of SLASH. We all know Fortus is a helluva guitar player. And he has played with and seen SLASH on regular basis for at least 7 years now. So there is no denying that he has 1st hand knowledge of SLASH capabilities and weaknesses.
Secondly, as I HUGE Nuno Bettencourt fan, I don't for one second believe that he hasn't ever heard Richard Fortus play a single note. IMO, that's just a sophomoric, dismissive low blow. While I get that Richard Fortus doesn't own a recognizable name among the mainstream and doesn't have a single writing credit wrt GN'R material (as far as I can tell), Nuno didn't need to go there. Even if it were somehow true, he still didn't need to go there.
But, alas, knowing how well educated Nuno is on music and guitar contemporaries, I find that statement to be very unbelievable. As if he hasn't heard or seen GN'R play a single moment over the past 21 years? I'm not buying it.
He didn't adress the "never heard you play" bullshit at all in his little video, Nuno has shown his true colors and it's getting worse with every new episode. It's hilarious actually.
