I think it's just an AI module made to speak like Eddie Trunk and Robin (actually, I don't think I've ever heard Robin's voice except singing Sossego). I actually used some free online AI modules reproducing celebrities voice to send prank voice notes to friends.
God, I hate this AI shit and where do I find these modules?

I imagine that is very likely. Short of leaving off Monsters though there isn't much they can do, and I'm astonished if they sent all this to the printers with no-one pointing it out to them!
But then, this is GNR, so.....
It's VERY GnR, actually.

So, do you guys think The General and Monsters will be released as one track on the upcoming Vinyl?
Gonna be EPIC!
Just kidding.

Justin Hawkins reacts to The General. I'm only five minutes in so far, but it sounds like he's already mistaking Richard's opening guitar parts for synths 🤦
He's VERY nice here...you can tell he thinks it absolutely sucks.
But really, the song itself...The General sounds like it was written in half an hour and then made "epic" with the orchestra and all the extra stuff.
In mean, imagine they came out with something like Locomotive or Jungle next, how would The General or Perhaps compare with their minimum lyrics and sections? Mh.

The main difference is that Axl’s way of singing is a hell of a lot more taxing on the vocal cords, then Mick Jagger’s.
This break will definitely be good if he actually uses the time to rest/recover. Even if his voice ends up being shot permanently, it is what it is. I can’t think of many bands that have canceled entire tours because of vocal issues.
This. Mick's style is more talking/ shouting since the beginning which enables him to carry on forever.
Axl really needs to consider big changes in his approach. Could be cool though.

Is there a consensus if the leaked songs are the final versions/mixes?
The general doesn't sound finished to me, especially the vocals.
Monsters sounds final, imo.

Wow, very nice surprise!
Does Slash play the solo like on the leak?
I hope the leaked version isn't the final vocal take, since it's the first time Mickey appears on a recording. Rasp is needed for The General, imo.

Dont think so - been taken down as far as I can see
Shit, wanted to listen to it again badly.
I wonder if they started working on new, new tracks already. When is that Michael Schenker album coming, btw.?

Great song, should be given back to Stinson.

it will grow inside you trust me
slash has redeemed himself with this one imo
Probably.
On the first listen I didn't really catch any details regarding guitar work, etc.

Just listened to the 9:02 version on youtube.
First impression: bad. Really bad. Axl sounds like King Diamond at times during the General and like Ozzy on Monsters.
No riffs again, just very boring chord progressions coated with tons of layers.
Mh. Almost anything on Chinese Democracy is better, imo.
Will have to listen again.

Haven't heard anything yet - will check youtube later. Part of me wants to wait for the proper release but who knows with this band, right? :/

This 100%. The real problem IMO is not comparing Slash to Bucket or Robin, but to compare with what he used to be before. And yes, his current tone plays a big whole with the impression of sounding lackluster.
His tone really isn't great these days.
Imagine that, endless ressources and money, the finest guitars a player could dream of and a history of having great live tone and you end up with this.
He probably doesn't care or his hearing is fucked or both.

What happenend? It's delayed now?

If anybody wants to dive into Bucketheads greatness, get the albums Crime Slunk Scene and Colma.
Slash is THE GnR guitarist.

What I love in all of this is how the band (mostly Axl) and TB are being absolutely hush on this. They (again mostly Axl) know exactly what this song means to the die hards and know how much chaos they’re causing by staying silent. They love it… I’m sure Axl is well aware of this and having a good chuckle at us 😅
For sure, he's having fun with shit like this. Can't blame him really

I absolutely love Ozzy's Patient No.9. It's one of my favourite albums of 2022. Hackney Diamond is also very solid, with very nice production, IMO. It would be amazing to have this level of production in the """"next GnR album"""" but IF we ever get a new album, and that's a big IF, I think we'll likely get someone like Fernando's producer friend or whatever
Why split the loot, good old 'Nando is gonna produce it HIMSELF!

I agree. I think they overused reverb on vocals and guitar (with a very short time). Combined with the compression, it sounded thin and weak like listening through a broken speaker.
Yup. I'd love to see Slash returning to the fat UYI/ Spaghetti tone as well, it would work great with modern production I guess.

This is my worry too, although I guess we won’t know any different since we’ve never heard the original.
If Buckethead played on this originally I think it’s safe to say whatever he played would have been far superior to what Slash has come up with though.
Imagine if we’d never heard the original TWAT and that beautiful bucket outro solo had been replaced by 2 minutes of Slash’s noodling, that really would have been a tragedy.
This is getting really stupid now XD

I know that quote and it's simply the truth. You can do so much more with a Strat than a Les Paul.
He played a Strat on some of the Illusion solos.
