  1. Pity but it's one way to stay clear of the people that would hack him for "riding gnr coattails". If he just says nothing be can't be attacked. Also, despite how it ended I think he has a great respect for Axl and knows that he would prefer the stories where things didn't go the right way stay out of the media. Bumble is doing well enough on his own not to need that kind of attention. Nonetheless, it would be very interesting to hear him or any of those guys speak freely. Even moreso than what Tommy did here, or Brains interviews.
  2. But how many weeks/months did it take before he could actually get through that section without sounding like he was being strangled? I think they should definitely attempt garden of Eden though😄
  3. He said that last year... so I think the expiry date is up on that😄
  4. I wouldn't expect to hear any of those on the first show. But maybe some or all of those will appear before they wrap up the tour in October.
  5. OR just go back to the 90s version... it would be a breath of fresh air.
  6. Nothing wrong with keeping those. Just don't put them in the same spots in the set. I still want to hear November rain and SCOM as over played as they are, I just don't want to hear that same bloody ise opener. A few key changes to.the structure would really improve things, but they also need to add different songs and remove others at least for a tour or so.
  7. I wouldn't know why it wouldn't be from the rehearsal as they have everything mic'd up... but I also wouldn't be surprised if it was just some old live audio with some new video like you said. Improved production for sure though... although the guitars are quite low
  8. It was material, but not entertaining. He kept saying it over and over. So even if I agreed it was just too much. I don't agree though. Wish pele had just stopped and not got his rightfully banning, just could not be helped even with all the warnings
  9. I didn't say there's shame in it either... I said they were butthurt when Hammett called them out about it. It doesn't matter about my opinion or yours, I also wasn't saying that. Some big jumps there tbf. And I wasn't saying the fans can't have it both ways I was talking about gnr members. If they are hurt when someone points out that they don't make music then combat it by making and releasing music It was a YouTube interview with Kirk some time in late 2016? He basically said that he got in trouble over the comment about them being a nostalgia act, and that he didn't mean to slag them he just wished they'd release music
  10. Well why did one of main guys from gnr contact Kirk Hammett after he called them a nostalgia act, if they aren't embarrassed? There's nothing wrong with it, but you can't have it both ways. You either release new music and push forward or you sit and play your back catalogue and become a nostalgia act. They chose option 2
  11. Well they put the whole new show in the promotional material. Bit different than some band member making a "hope we can do something different" comment in an interview. Like I don't expect anything after Richard said that. But when they put their neck on the line and say "an all new show" as the selling point of a tour in the promo material, and then don't do that, then that's a huge difference to the product being sold. I don't think you're a dumb fan and should know better at that point. And yes, they throw in a few new covers, and dig out locomotive or whatever... But it is the same show. Whole new show is where they don't start and finish with the same songs, have the same stage production. So legally I don't know where it would land but it would certainly be interesting had any fan been that annoyed they brought it to court.
  12. We're not talking about art though. We're talking about the guy going up there and not singing well more often than not. We're talking about interviews before upcoming tours where in conjunction to talking of said tour they mention that they have songs ready to go that should be out soon. That my friend is bs. They are hyping the core audience to get ticket sales there. And as far as Axl goes, if you can't deliver them you need to stop touring. When you listen to him now vs 10-30yrs ago, it's worlds apart... It's not defendable. And yes. A refund is not unreasonable for these things. Let's not forget....An all new show was promised late 2019? Were you entitled to a refund when they fuckin' came back with the exact same show, same stage, less pyro, and basically the same songs. I think you are / were. That's like going to an art gallery which promised to have new works, but instead you got the same exhibition they had for the past 7yrs.
  13. Yeah, it's a crying shame that there's a good chance GNRs catalogue has been rounded off with Absurd and HardSkool...one utterly forgettable song or and another that's skirting so close to awful it's comical.
  14. You migh enjoy some of their load/reload era if you prefer a more rock sound. For me Metallica and GNR are my favourites, and if GNR had more records maybe they'd be my number 1 but Metallica has more records and a better streak of great albums (few not so great also). But just like GNR they are not for everyone
  15. Unforgiven II might be able to challenge the original, but no way on earth is unforgiven III a better song than The Unforgiven. Not even close.
  16. There is no excuse, Axl just doesn't want to release material... And when he does, he does. Very boring, but fuck it! In my mind they are one rung above inactive
  17. Pretty awful... Give it time though, this will eventually be seamless. But like others said, what is the point.
  18. It's a worked out arrangement as far as I can tell because they (up to now at least) did it for a solid 10yrs. They are a solid live act though, you'd be crazy to say otherwise!
  19. Do they still do that annoying thing where every song breaks down and they start talking to the crowd mid way through? For me you can get away with maybe doing that twice in a gig, but afterwards I just want you to keep the momentum going. No issue with bands changing the arrangement whatsoever, but if you kill the flow of the song no matter how much you like doing it, it's gotta go. "honestly, you are the best crowd" yeah, don't BS a BS'er Dave😄
  20. I heard the first 2 and then fell off the radar with them. I don't really know anything about their newer stuff though, outside of Josh Homme producing one of the records. As "newer" bands go, I never didn't like them like The Strokes or The Hives, so they are at a great advantage already😄
  21. I need to check out that artic monkeys album. gonna check out some of these other picks too
  22. That's kinda an impossible standard to be in the same sphere as those records. Let's be reasonable. The first Audioslave album is a fantastic record Ghost - Impera great record Trivium - Ascendancy / In waves (on the harder side of things but two knock out records) The Winery Dogs - Debut, great record. QOTSA - Rated R (I know it's 24yrs old... let's not split hairs) absolute killer record The Darkness - Permission to land. In my opinion one of the best debuts of all time alongside AFD. And I know they were almost 40years old at this point but... Clockwork Angels by Rush has to get a mention. Tried to keep to bands that were formed after 2000, but this album is currently on my radar again and it's fucking excellent, top to bottom!! and it was their final album. GNR take note! Anyway, point is there's plenty of great and good rock music over the last 20yrs from new and old groups
  23. If it's unheard and unreleased then it's new. But he also mentioned no release plans, he just said it existed. As far as brand new material with Slash and Duff, he has said closer to nothing about it other than he is open to it... but as Slash has said more than once, Axls priority is releasing his music first, so Slash and Duff will just be reinterpreting existing music, not creating from the ground up.
  24. People have been complaining about that fro the last 20 years between the VMA 2002 performance, RIR 2011 and Bridge School 2013..... BUT the shows continue to make profits so the train keeps on rolling! And tbf Axl sometimes sings fantastic... the honest criticism of Axl is that he is INCREDIBLY hit and miss. You could decide to skip the GNR show in your city this year and that could be the show of the year that night, there is no way of knowing when and where he will pull one out of the bag... outside of him coming out of the gates strong with great vocals and not being gassed 3 songs in. As for ticket sales... no band can tour every year in huge venues and expect the demand to remain the same. It speaks volumes that it has taken this long for GNR to slow down. having said that, when the shows come around the venues will be far from empty, tickets will begin to move. If the shook up the set order this year, I'd almost go and fly to one of the gigs. That's how little they need to do to create a modicum of excitement. Dig out one or two more deeper cuts they haven't played yet and MAYBE debut a new song and this tour will be all over the blabbermouths, loudwires etc and that will move (some) tickets... assuming Axl sounds strong in the videos. He also didn't know whether he was going to get them to play on it.
