Yes, my wife wasn’t able to get off work and I told her I thought I was still going to go and she said okay have fun. That’s not what I was expecting her to say, so I hurried and booked everything as quickly as I could 😂. None of my friends will pay these ticket prices to see GN’R, but especially also having to pay to fly to Chicago. They all think that I am completely crazy….and I might be but I have just always enjoyed the band and their opinions don’t matter to me 😂

Hit me up on PM. I’ll try to bring you to the ADA section in front of the PIT. I can bring one person. No promises. But I’ll give you my number and see what I can do that day.

Me too. The first time it showed a pit ticket in my cart and then I checked out and the confirmation email gave me a random field seat. I was so pissed.

The site was acting weird and denied 5 different cards. So after I got the field seat I tried pit again with one of the 5 cards I previously tried with and it went through.
I realized there were no refunds or exchanges.

So now I have a random ass field seat and a pit ticket. I called Wrigley and they confirmed no exchanges. The woman said we can let you buy one of the GA tickets, we have a few left, and that I should try to sell my “investment” on a resale site. Like she was doing me a favor by selling me the ticket that I had already been trying to buy, that I should have gotten in the first place. I had to hang up because I was about to cuss the old rude bitch out.

If I can’t get rid of the extra ticket I am just going to pretend I bought one of the over priced VIP packages and forget about it. My flight is booked and I am going. I am a big Cubs fan so I am looking forward to going to Wrigley for this.

    Are you going alone?

I would say MSG and Giants/Metlife Stadium.  The second time that I saw GNR was at MSG in December of 1991. That was probably the best GNR show that I attended. Axl was in a good mood. I would also say the first night at MetLife Stadium for the NITL tour was the second best show. Axl and Slash were on fire. The entire stadium sang along to Sweet Child.

I think my first GNR concert set the standard of GNR being late. It was at the Nassau Coliseum in June 1991. What I heard was that was the first show GNR arrived late to.

    How late?

My assumption/opinion is an educated guess based on my 30 year history of seeing GN'R in concert across the US. I've watched the overall steady decline of their performances, including the 4 times and 3 different venues in Chicago that I've seen them.

The only venue I can ever recall Axl treating as special has been Madison Square Garden. The first show at Hammerstein Ballroom I went to was pretty special, but I don't think that had anything to do with the venue.

Who knows. Maybe they'll do something special at Wrigley, maybe not. Either way, sharing opinions is what the forum is meant for.

The band won’t do anything special at Wrigley. I was just under the impression that all bands approached it like Pearl Jam. I hyped myself up about The venue.

How close to the show date would this happen? Would like to save some money and get a better seat if possible.

Usually some days out. 3-4 in my experience with this tour. I’ve seen it at every show I attended. I’m a veteran and there is a website that gets free tickets to vets, and GNR shows almost always showed up for free tickets. More than any major band by a long shot.

Other than the time I saw Pearl Jam at Wrigley in 2016 and part of the show was released as a live album.

Well, fuck it. I tried and failed. But, GNR have never played Wrigley so your assumption that it’s just a another cash grab show for the band is just your opinion. The band don’t seem to be lost that certain venues are magic.

Well, I can't not go see my favorite band when they're in town. However, the Wrigley date has once again been rescheduled, this time to Sept. 16. I already have Riot Fest admission for a pre-show on Sept 16. There was no extra cost involved with RF. It was simply an added bonus for folks who rolled over their 2020 festival tickets versus requesting a refund.

I have until the end of June to request a full refund for Guns. I am waiting till the last possible moment to request a refund, hoping that Riot Fest will announce who will be performing on Sept. 16. This way I can make a more educated choice on whether to skip Wrigley Field or not. It would gut me to miss out on GNR in my hometown, but I can always catch them elsewhere earlier in the tour.

To join in on the discussion: I think ticket sales aren't what you'd normally expect for a myriad of reasons.

1, There is a ton of competition right now with more and more artists are announcing tours. There will be conflicts, and there will be people who choose to allocate their funds elsewhere since it seems like almost everyone is hitting the road.

2, GNR tickets are really goddamn expensive. People are gonna think twice paying $250 for a show they've already seen vs paying less than $200 for a three-day music festival, for example. If GNR priced their tickets cheaper, obviously they'd move way more of them.

3, Lack of new music and the feeling of sameness.

    4. Some people are still too nervous to go to full-capacity venues.

How could you not want to see GNR at Wrigley? It will be special.

Do you get mad when people in front of you are standing the entire time though? Because I don't sit at all during concerts. And when others are all sitting, it sort of ruins the energy. Especially when you can hear people chattering throughout the entire show. I much prefer being as close as possible because of this.

This is funny. I went to see GNR in OKC in 2019. I never sit either. But I was in the cheap seats so everybody up there sits down. Half way thru It’s So Easy ice gets thrown at me. I tell security I’m being hassled and security takes me to the ADA section on the 100 level.

both Mick and Tommy save the Crue. I've seen them so many times and each time Vince gets worse and worse. He's overweight and drinks way too much. When their latest tour was announced Vince said he would get in better shape because a stadium tour takes a lot more energy to pull off. It's been 2 years and from the pictures I've seen of Vince he hasn't done a thing to better himself. By the time the Crue concert does happen next year will he still be fucked up. This guy can get a personal trainer and eat better, but I guess he figures Crue fans will show. Yeah, true, but if he can't pull off this tour, we will be disappointed yet again.

I am getting a refund for the postponed show next year and put it towards my GNR tickets. No one comes before GNR for me.

If I see Vince trying to get in shape by next year, I'll see if I want to see this concert.  I know getting older sucks, but you are a professtional singer in an amazing rock band, so put up or don't embarass your self and the band.

And even if Axl doesn't sound like he did when he was younger, the guy gives 110% and still rocks on stage. He's a professional singer and amazing frontman no matter what. At least Axl puts in the effort and doesn't point the mic towards the crowd half way through a song like Vince does.

Did you see that video of him recently quitting a show because he couldn’t sing?

As long as GNR come to Dallas I will be there!  Never get tired of hearing any GNR songs over and over again. This band rocks.

I got my tickets to the Dallas show today. Got very good seats too.

Since all GNR songs and the covers they perform rock, I don't mind seeing or hearing them over and over again. GNR are super exciting and put their 110% forward every show I've seen.

I doubt any fan would be disappointed in seeing GNR. I know my family and I love it!

    What section did you score?

Over 500$ for THAT? How can anybody, anywhere, not be negative about shit like that?! For a lot of folks money is tighter than ever because of the fucking pandemic and they have the nerve to....nevermind, whatever.

That’s just Ticketmaster cashing in early. Ticket prices always level out. For as big as this band is there is never huge demand for a show.

First off, not trying to shame anyone who is physically unable to stand for long periods of time - of course there are people out there who have medical issues which do not allow them to stand, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But of course there will be people in the crowd with the same situation in Europe, or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

Second, I make those comments as an American who regularly travels internationally for gigs. I've been to well over a hundred concerts outside North America in my life, across five different continents. I can tell you, without any shadow of doubt, the US has the most uninterested, disengaged, and frankly boring crowds of anywhere in the world and there's not even a close second. I'm not a European saying "oh, typical stupid Americans". The fact of the matter is you go anywhere else in the world, and there's this...energy you don't get in the US; everyone wants to be a part of the show, everyone is in the moment, and there's this excitement in the air that you just don't get in the US. There's some places that have stood out more than others as far as the crowd energy goes; Chile, Mexico, Italy, Poland, and all of the Nordics spring to mind, but even a dull crowd by European standards - let's go with Switzerland just for the sake of argument, is still leagues ahead of an exciting crowd by US standards. And that energy you get elsewhere lends itself better to all-standing gigs than the energy in the US. Everyone is moving, jumping, having a good time, and sometimes it really can be tough to hold down your spot on the barrier at the front of a standing crowd. But in the US people just...stand there most of the time. It's just not the same. So yeah, I do get it when bands do seated floor gigs in the US, it's just more in line with the concert culture over here.

Let me put it like this - the roughest gig I've ever been to was a Maiden gig with Slayer opening in Poland in 2014. After Slayer's set, I had a guy who was jacked up on PCP pick me up by the throat, feet off the ground, to try and get my spot on the barrier. I ended up having to elbow the guy in the face until he let go because the security weren't doing anything about it. Even besides that, my torso was completely bruised for a week afterwards just from the constant crush all night. I'll take a gig like that any day of the week over one in the US where people are standing in the front of the standing section with their arms crossed or their phones constantly out, and throwing a hissy fit if you accidentally lean on them or bump into them. Which I have literally had happen.

I’m curious how old are you? And I agree with you. I’ve never seen a show outside the US, but I have watched plenty of bootlegs from various bands and European audiences are much more lively than the US.

  12. 27 minutes ago, RussTCB said:

That's definitely it. It's not the whether like was suggested last week and it's certainly not lack of demand for tickets. It's just that the baseball stadium in some markets wasn't available on the date they needed. So I'd assume those arena shows will sell out lightning quick and several dates will be added for those cities seeing as there's so much demand for GN'R in those markets.

    You are being unnecessarily aggressive.

    30 minutes ago, Draguns said:

I would hold off on stereotyping Americans.  For me, I cannot go to an all standing gig due to my disability. I have to go to venues where I can sit and stand.  If I stand for an entire concert, I have trouble walking the next day. At this age, I don't have the time anymore to wait for my legs to recuperate. Just some food for thought there.

You know you can purchase ADA seating. Wrigley even has an ADA section in front of the PIT that comes with a folding chair. I’ll be in that section.

Of course it's not, but that wasn't the argument being presented on either side.

I missed the point of the argument. The venues they are playing are baseball stadiums, which hold 30-40k less people than NFL stadiums. My point in saying that is it’s not crazy to think the band can sale tickets to these venues. Wrigley and Fenway will have no issues selling tickets. There is no evidence to support the band had to book arenas because of poor sales. The Arlington baseball park is booked on September 1st, so maybe the band just couldn’t book that venue.

    😂

So let me get this straight:

if GN'R tours and it's successful, then the people get to point out how popular GN'R is.

But if ticket sales are so dismal that they had to reduce the tour to arenas, then fans should just shut up and he happy they're touring at all?

I'm curious where the ridiculous "they had to do arenas last time because it was cold in one part of the US" agurment stands now too, seeing as it's hot all over the US for the coming months, yet they're doing a lot of arenas.

Also, I don't know any fans or forum members who are "worried" about whether a GN'R tour fails financially or not. The only thing I know of is fans disappointed that a band they want to love keeps giving them nothing but the absolute bare minimum.

As if playing Arenas is embarrassing.

I am no GNR defender, but aren't site maps pretty misleading? I remember we were all freaking out in 2016 because of empty seats. The Detroit show looked like it would have no one there then come show time it was pretty packed. A few shows had an undersold upper-bowl but it wasn't anything too bad from what I remember. Ticketmaster/Live Nation plays shitty games now where they withhold blocks and sections, resell tickets under the guise of "premium seats", some go straight to third party sites and corporate shit, etc. I'm not saying GNR is bombing, it just seems a bit like dejavu to me. Either way, I am going to buy tickets the day of the show or so like I did in 2017. They played an arena last time they were in Detroit and cheaper seats were hard to come by until the week of the show they released more. Go figure.

The same thing happen to me in Tulsa in 2017. Two days before the show lower bowl seats right next to stage were on sale for 100$.

    Ok I found the segment.

    My running commentary:

2:45 if we were being visited someone would have some good footage: fair point, but there's a lot of videos out there purporting to be of UFO's. We have no way of verifying if any of those are legit or they are all bunk. There might some legit mixed in with all the bunk, we literally wouldn't know. That's why the military stuff is so much more important for this topic, at least with those, we can be pretty confident those are legitimate videos showing something real.

3:30 Joe brings up a lot of these military sightings are done on the ocean. Yes there have been a lot of military sightings over the ocean. Tyson says that's a just-so story. Not necessarily, Joe also left out the sightings military have had on land, and some of them over sensitive nuclear sites.

5:50 Tyson makes an odd point that our probes on Mars are not targeting the Martian military. Ok? Odd joke. Mars is seemingly a dead planet my man.

6:30 in regards to the Tic Tac, Tyson makes sure to say this is what their sensors told them. Well yes, but what makes this case special is that at least 6 pilots, and maybe more on the deck of the ship, had eyeballs on the craft and saw it making crazy maneuvers. Pilot David Fravor compared it to watching a ping pong ball in action. And also, there were multiple sensors picking this stuff up, not just one. Rogan does a bad job explaining the incident. Ok later Rogan brings up they had visual, good save Joe. They didn't see it at 80,000 feet no, but again, multiple sensors Neil, not just one.

8:10 Tyson then talks about the scrutiny scientists put on eachothers work. Sure, but you don't think this same type of scrutiny didn't go into AATIP's analysis? The team itself would have been scrutinizing eachother, and eventually this info made it all the way up to Obama (and Trump). So thus multiple layers of bureaucracy would have been scrutinizing this, since they usually don't waste a President's time with bunk.

9:33 Tyson says Uranus in a way I'd never heard before. Interesting aside.

Big long segment on Planet X, my point from 8:10 stands. If only one sensor caught this stuff, then great story. But they reportedly had multiple sensors picking this up at the same time, corroborating eachother, as well as multiple eyes on the object, and on top that, scrutinization of everything back at the office before it moved up the chain of command. And reportedly, there are many cases like this, not just one. More is probably going to be coming out, especially after the UAPTF report this month.

    Overall I rate Tyson's debunking attempt a 3/10.

Nice summary. Tyson makes good points. He’s highly skeptical because he knows what it takes for life to even have a chance to evolve, much less reach a state of advancement that would allow interstellar travel.

  16. 4 hours ago, Jakey Styley said:

A big thing for him is the fact that our camera quality has become exponentially better than it once was, with huge numbers of people having a very good camera in their pocket, yet our footage of UFOs hasn't gotten any better. He also said, with regards to the Navy's sensors detecting objects moving from 50,000 feet in altitude to 50 feet in a couple seconds (or whatever), that sensors just get it wrong sometimes (along with a famous example of a sensor incorrectly detecting a mysterious gravitational pull on Uranus that sent scientists on a wild goose hunt for a "Planet X" for decades).

    Thank you.

  17. Neil Tyson was on Rogan recently and the recent UFO news was talked about at length and Tyson just does not believe it’s aliens. His reason, much like Soulmonster, just make too much sense.

Thought I’d ask this here since I feel some may be knowledgeable about this and I just want to be prepared.

So I’ve only been in the pit once before for a concert; it was for Guns back in 2017. I initially bought tickets in the 100 section for about $150 a year before but the morning of my show, I noticed that pit tickets were not only still available but decreased to $150 and thanks to a forum member here actually who gave me the tip of upgrading my ticket, I ended up getting pit tickets that morning still with the price of $150. I got front row, Axl waved at me twice; it was legit one of the best nights of my life.

Now that was a stadium. My question is, with the Dallas show being an arena show, is there equal chance of pit tickets 1) even still available the morning of and 2) prices dropping to that level again or did I just get lucky? I just don’t want to miss out on pit.

If price is an issue why don’t you apply for Ticketmaster’s payment plan.
