This is very sad, really - although not surprising.

But as I always try to rationalize and make sense of things (even when they seem to not make sense, as is usually the case with TB), I suspect that it has mainly to do with Doug Goldstein and probably what they perceive as the podcast being closely associated with him. TB seems to hate Doug, and probably Axl wants nothing to do with him either - and Slash and Duff have hated him for years, anyway.

I assumed as much too. Plus, Doug recollection. Of events is way off to the point the interviewer has to correct him multiples times. I wouldn’t want that guy speaking on anything about the band either.

I'd guess the fact that they had to cut prices on the AFD set and that it's still available showed that maybe $1,000 is too much money. Yes you'll have completists that'll buy it no matter what but a set that expensive is geared towards die hards so they want stuff they don't have.

If this UYI set comes with the Japan shows on dvd, well that's a letdown. Hopefully this one is closer to the $200 price point. I'm sure tons of people on here can point to re releases that are around that amount and come with lots of rare material that die hards would want. No casual fan is spending hundreds let alone $1,000 on a box set so you may as well cater to the hardcores.

A 1000$ Could have possibly worked with a smaller print run and truly great content. There is the Cathouse Footage. And the video shoot footage for paradise city. A behind the scene making on all videos would have been cool. Considering the price point is for so hard then it should reflect what die hards would like to own.

Watching the selects now.. This band is toast.. I think they would be better off sounding like the Classic Gn'R than any "moderinaztion".

I was speaking strictly to her presence on stage. I personally don’t get her inclusion. However, I’m relieved somebody told Axl to nix the third guitarist idea.

Oh it would for me.. My excitent was off the charts leading up to the reunion. I was fucking ecstatic.  All the way up to the Troubador show.. Once I saw the lineup and the second setup for Melissa I knew it wasn't going to be as good as it should be.. 5 1/2 years later I still can't take her serious and think she is useless.. Fortus and Frank had 5 1/2 years to change my mind about them and I still think they suck.. Or atleast in the context of this band.  It is what it is at this point though...

The claim on Melissa is she modernizes the sound. I believe Axl thinks she deserves band representation. I’m not certain, but I think other bands have a Melissa under the stage essentially performing her role, but do not give those people stage representation. I read an interview where Dizzy said Slash and Duff talked about having Dizzy play off stage or side of stage before UYI touring. Axl vetoed it.

Why do people like you feel the need to share shit like this? Nobody cares or will know whether you buy remastered music or not.

We get it. You feel entitled to new music. But you’re not and have to live within that reality. Must be a rough existence.

Have fun kicking and screaming like a baby in every thread about no new music. As if that hasn’t been going on since this websites existence.

As much as many of you complain about nothing changing with this band, the same is true of all the crybabies fans over new music and setlists. Same shit, different day. Hypocrites.

Go find another band to fanboy over if you hate this one and the way they choose to conduct their business so badly. You guys sound like battered spouses that won’t leave a bad marriage. What’s stopping you?

Other forums are not as negative based as this one, so the people you speak on believe it’s normal human behavior to spend time in place(website) and complain continuously. Just look at the people who laughed at you. And when brought up how absurd it is they just feed off each other and continue to be negative.

Yes, I did. I have a weird relationship with that band. I get 100% of the criticism, and think their image and pretentiousness are annoying. They should wear their influence on their sleeve instead of saying away from it.

Still, I like about half of their material and it's nice to hear a cleanish Marshall tone in a band, again

It is nice to hear such tone. Hopefully they do great work one day. They might be the last real rock band for awhile.

LOL. Actual artist? I haven't listened to a Maroon 5 album since the first two but basically every song on them was more inspired and creative then this dimestore Creed album.

Dimestore Creed. Lol. Does it sound that bad?

A lot of rock and pop songs are way more similar than people think. Verse/catchy anthem chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus.

Songs About Jane was a solid record :shrugs:

Did you enjoy the new Greta album?

  8. But come showtime these shows will be at least 80% filled seats. Nu GnR shows routinely would be half empty. I saw GNR in Kansas City in 2013 at a beautiful theater. A theater that looked like the venue where November Rain was filmed. It was half empty. It was demoralizing. I swore that would be my last show. At least this incarnation has Slash on fire.

Maybe, but who knows.  I also doubt it.

More likely he became indifferent to Guns/new music in the same way that most people become indifferent as they get older.   Financial considerations seem to be the main driver, which, again, isn't all that uncommon for people 40 and over.

Or he’s like you Downzy and he no longer is excited by certain things that once turn him on.

I think they'll play a new song and some rare Illusions material but that won't move tens of thousands of tickets.  Not sure what would. Even a full AFD reunion tour might not move the needle.

What rare Illusion material could they play? Breakdown? Maybe?

Because I have two and no one sane will buy them for whatever crazy price I paid for them.  I have a friend that is going and I am still hoping for the best.  It could still be fucking awesome I don't know.. My excitement level is just currently at zero.

    What show are you attending?

I got my tickets. Great seats too and YES I still care to see GNR! Greatest band ever and freaking awesome live!

Axl has now gotten the best musicians from the two GNR bands.

And fans still go nuts when Axl hits the stage!

I purchased Dallas tickets. What section did you get?

Just depends on the circumstance. Lots of factors make getting in early preferential. As some one who has stood rail at all 5 of my Gn'R experiences, the Ottawa experience was tough because of the heat and the lunar eclipse. By the end of the show - people were begging Gio/security staff for water. The two October shows in Toronto were bitterly cold standing in line, and security/event staff were unprepared and almost pancaked the first 5-7 people in line (including me) and almost cost us our spots because they didn't know which doors to open.

So, I would have gladly paid an early entry fee to avoid all of that.

But those are the perils of rock n' roll, or so I'm told......

    You’re hardcore. Love it.

You have to think more outside the box.

    Zane Lowe, Apple music 1.

His interviews are outstanding as he comes from seeing things from the prospective, of being a musician himself.

The artists tend to more confortable answering questions, due to his approach and knowledge of the process of being a musician.

Trent Reznor is not the most easiest person to interview, but Zanes approached allowed Raznor to be relaxed and comfortable.

His passion for music come out within the first 5 minutes of his interview with the pumpkins a few years ago and Billy Corgan ran with it.. That interview was amazing to listen to, due to the response of Corgan and his answers to questions..

Lowes musical career as part of Urban Disturbance and Breaks Co - Op is legendary in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.

    Amazing song writer..

never heard of him, but thanks for the share. See, something good can come of a pointless thread.

Since there isn't a thread for the Dallas show, I'll put this here...

Would anyone in the Plano, TX/Collin County area be willing to give me a ride to and from the Dallas show? I would be happy to contribute towards fuel expenses and parking fees.
I am planning to capture audio of the Dallas gig, so I would be able hook you up with a nice souvenir recording of the concert in exchange for a ride. I don't drive (by choice), and seriously doubt that any of my friends would be interested in going to the overpriced GNR gig. Please send me a PM if you can help me out. I would be willing to meet in public in advance of the show, to prove that I am not a weirdo...
    Thank you!

    Why not an Uber?
